I'm only a mediocre drummer, but I have a sister that plays professionally in a jazz ensemble and works as a studio musician. I doubt she would classify it as a dream job, she makes shit money and is dependant on her boyfriend in order to be supported. It's also quite stressful according to her, as you never know if you're going to get any jobs the next month.
