/IEMg/ In Ear Memes general

In /IEMg/ we discuss IEM's and portable audio too rich for /csg/'s blood and too poor for the Stax master race in /hpg/.

For today's main topic, we're attempting to compile a list of main memes for suggestion. See previous thread here

I think that the minimum price limit is moronic and us stopping potential newcomers from trying out IEMs

Hey, DT500 guy, are you here?
I need to hear how did you an idea to get them in the first place. I want to prove this guy wrong.

But I wasn't replying to the DT500 guy?
It was specifically for zishanfag

My Tin T2's won't stay snug so I ordered a pair of Spin Fit double flange tips, we'll see how that goes.

I bought them because they looked like my SE535’s and I wanted to see if they sounded anything like them. I couldn’t find any info on them aside from a DT300 pro review stating off hand that the DT500 had a tuning issue.

Oh, I mixed something up, sorry.
My point was that there are still discoveries to be made in chi-fi.
I bought my DT300 Pros because they looked interesting — saw them while browsing NiceHCK store on Ali for some things to get enough in one order to get discount applied — and found one single eight post thread on some Russian forum stating that were interesting and tried my luck with them. Was not disappointed.

>scroll through last thread
>only two measurement graphs posted
can't decide whether this is a good thing or bad

thats because they are easy af to find and those who know how to read them (and want to ) look for them by themselves.

>Buy iems
>they sound good
>suddenly find a measurement
>they measure poorly
>they now sound like shit
Thank god I saw measurements

These threads remind me of /hpg/ before it entered it's current era of total unusability. You legitimately cannot talk about anything but the midfi 3 and stax.

This will either die like /pmp/ or become that

i love my kz zs6

discord is actually better than the golden era of IRC and I think it's at least as good as generals but the problem is they need moderation to not devolve into /hpg/'s current state which means you get power hungry fags who hate fun. you also get moralfags that pretend to be nuns.
I think Jow Forums is probably slow enough these days to support this. The key is getting people to stick around instead of leave once they get their iem

About to buy BGVP DM6, are the clear one prone to Yellowing or should I play it safe and get the black one

Attached: Shopee_30b204ce9f54f29c6b508f11fd63eae7.jpg (942x942, 291K)

See if they'll put a pic on the back for you.
All of the DM6s are ridiculously nice looking though. Why the black instead of the blue, green, or clear? Do you not like see through?

>putting plastic dildoes in ears

>order chinese 130€ because they were on sale
>receive them excitingly after 30 days
>unbox them, first impression is good
>check out internet reviews
>they measure poorly
>notice the frequency spikes which were visualised in the previous video
>now they sound like shit

I dont want to attract attention by wearing colorful IEMs, so its either Clear or Black

Noice
Would put trap porn on

No fuck that you are a wonderful person and deserve attention

the problem with headphones is that it's basically solved. the hd600 and stax dwarfs everything else for the price and then you have people buying 5-10 headphones who try stax later, are blown away even after owning other $1-2k+ stuff, and then regret not skipping straight to them. everyone who sticks around long enough comes to this conclusion, it will happen with this general just like it happened to speakers and headphones

i thought they sounded super muffled with those

Go back, please.

Jesus i hope you don't go outside using this lmao

Hey fellas, I'm planning to get the QT2, but I have read that they have a shit cable. Any recommendation on a cable that you could give to someone with no knowledge about this?

are these a meme

amazon.com/1MORE-Earphones-Headphones-Resolution-Smartphones/dp/B01A7G35S0

it's the truth, look what happened speakers. all jbls. iems are still new so you still get overhyped garbage like campfire. I've said my piece don't worry ;)

Reeks of brain dead audiophile mysticism and cult mentality. Fuck off.

You idiots might as well post in the HF threads. Chifi is meant for budget only though. Pointless buying expensive chifi.

You always hear people say "i dont care what others think of me!" but they really do. They say things like you just did, they practice perception management, etc. I actually don't though to a fault.
I would wear those, a pokemon tshirt, 2 size too big walmart jeans while vaping on my walk to walmart and not even be able to take note of when i come into contact with others.
That aside I don't think theres anything wrong with anime earphones

link me small foam tips from ali you all have big ass ears

What's the logical progression from VE Monks for earbuds? Or are they basically as good as earbuds can be and I have to go IEM for better sound?

Earbuds are shit by design and the few good ones are sold at astronomical prices for what they offer compared to IEMs.
IEMs are the way to go.

They are a lot more comfortable for me.

Oh well, I guess I need to try nicer tips for iems.

It's not 2002 anymore, even cheap buds sound as good as the expensive ones.

Fuck off, sweetie.

Retard yet serious question inc, how to IEMs differ from shitty ear buds? Always wanted to try IEMs but earbuds always made my ears sweat and itch like a mother fucker after 15 minutes.

iems are inserted within the ear canal whereas ear buds just sit on the outer part of your ear, if you're worried about comfort i couldn't have ear buds on at all because they would either never fit or start hurting immediately for me but i love iems and they're comfy as hell

>My Tin T2's won't stay snug
You’re probably inserting it wrong. Look it up, there’s a specific way to do it

What I do is
1. Squeeze/roll the foam tips
2. Hold ear up
3. Push tip in your ear and hold
4. Let go of your ear
5. After 20 seconds stop holding
That should give you a good seal

You totally look like a normal person while you spend more than 40 seconds to plug the earphones on. No autism at all.

So the spiral dots on the spiral dots don't actually do anything right? They just sound good because they're well made??

why do you care ?

how is this supposed to be convenient

people use them for the wider bore, not the dots

Wat

they're wide bore tips

Attached: 6088275.jpg (1000x668, 126K)

>if I spend half a minute I could have a great music experience
>but I won’t do it because some random normies may think it’s weird

No autism at all

people don't care wtf you do with your life and care even less that you are taking and hour to put you earphones on. You insecure faggot.

Some faggots think they can escape from earwax. Unless you get your ears cleared by a doctor, you can't avoid it, it's natural.

KZ-ATE reporting. No regrets

>be a Chad foam tipper
>use iems with tips that seal perfectly and block out 200% of external noise
>doesn’t give a shit what people think about his insertion technique
>walks into someone and doesn’t even notice
>it’s a virgin silicon tipper
>he’s literally never listened to iems with a good seal
>he’s on a constant lookout to see if people are judging, so no noise isolation
>he’s too insecure to use foam tips

is NICEHCK HB1 the best wireless option for my T2s?

I want something that sounds at least as good as my smartphone and comparable to a cheap DAP... I am torn between buying this (and using it with my smartphone) or buying a Shanling m0

or should I wait until this one is on sale? It doesn't look as gay as the previous one

Okay, I got myself 3 pairs of KZ models during the past few months. All of them are maybe the cheapest ones you´ll find yet still a very good deal IMO. I shall elaborate...

> KZ ATE
My first buy. Very thicc bass and pretty loud. Overall a good sound quality, only downside is it can become a bit thin in the mids. The cable is fixed and the overall build quality is average. They are pretty small and have no fixing solution for around the ear. But for 6-8 bucks the best you´ll ever get. Good for bass heavy music like DnB for example

>KZ ZS3
Maybe I got a flawed one, but these are my least favorite. Almost no bass for my kind of music but pretty crisp in the highs. Very comfy to wear because the shape is perfectly ergonomic. They have a bendable wire attached to the (changeable) cable to fix it like a sports headphone. If you´re into classic music or generally not too bass heavy music then these are 8 bucks well spent.

>KZ ED12
My latest purchase for 7 bucks. Great bass, comfy, overall good sound, detachable cable, fixing wire, all in all my favorite choice.

Protip: I know a lot of people don´t like them, but I only use them with memory foam tips. Better noise insulation and they fit better. The tips they all come with (3 pairs of S(M/L vinyl ones) are okay too. But I just ordered a wide variety of different meme tips in all shapes and forms and shall report how they perform.

>EDIT
The ZS3 and the ED12 are both the mic variants with a single button remote on the cable. The mic is pretty shitty, but it is usable.

>About to buy BGVP DM6
really ? ali is still out of stock and penon only has green.
i am eyeing off the piano black. hnnnnnng
i see you are a man of culture as well
ugh /hpg/ ----------->
> I'm planning to get the QT2, but I have read that they have a shit cable.
>Any recommendation on a cable
yes ! price performance looks i highly reccomend the TRN cables [picture related]

thank you zishan user

Output impedance of zihan players?

20 Ohms for the DSD.

Impedance Voodoo Witch Doctor Suddenly appears.....

*ahm* did you see the other user who got his Zishan on /csg/ yesterday ?

>Received my zishan player today (VERY fast shipping for chinks) and did some very short A/B testing across from the Astell & Kern ak70. Testing was done using 3.5mm out and tin t2s, mostly 16/44.1 flac and one album at 320kbps mp3.
>We all know that obviously the ak70 has a more pleasing interface and UI, but this is only a sound comparison.
> First impressions are that the ak70 is much more bass-heavy and the zishan more neutral, consistent throughout all songs. Second impression is that when listening to songs with quick notes, I can hear detail better on the zishan! Nice. Zishan also seems to win on soundstage/imaging, but I'm generally not a good judge of this and testing that using IEMs is probably harder. The only real victory for the ak70 is that it delivers a stronger punch with lower midrange, especially percussion.

Attached: 1544759308707.jpg (2304x1536, 547K)

why the fuck would anyone need anything higher than this?

Attached: ergofit.jpg (1000x1000, 89K)

>The gist is that if you can deal with the design idiosyncracies of the zishan player (and there are quite a few) the device delivers amazing sound performance that beats out players more than 3x its price range. Once most of these issues are sorted out with a fw update, I'm probably going to end up selling the ak70 since I basically only used it for working out.

Because iems can produce good sound.

hD600 -> no bass, OK for audio books I suppose.

Does that mean 10ohm - 16ohm iems will suffer from background noise?

Thank you user, I am the same audio illiterate from the other thread, I'll trust your counsel on the QT2 and the cable

> iems will suffer from background noise?

No absolutely not. That player is absolutely silent with all the different types of headphones i have tried, balanced and single ended, dynamic and BA. An impedance mismatch normally manifests itself as an altered frequency response ie. less bass and it sounds fine to me. Paired with revonext QT2 it makes earthquakes.

Yes Output Impedance should ideally close to zero. Yes the Zishan is 20ohms. Yes I am still researching the circuit to figure out why the designer purposely went this route. [pic related in green is all it really is].

TLD; its purely academic

Bump? I'm also interested to know if mainstream (?) earphones like these or the Shure E215 are worth it

is the sale on that trn cable a real sale or just price hike tactics?

Foams leak more bass than silicone. They are more reliable at fitting and have a slight damping effect on canal resonances.

It's a reference to the voltage divider property. Audio amplifiers work on the basis of voltage, and the voltage is distributed in proportion to the impedance of each component.
If the impedance the headphone "sees" is variable and headphone Z is not significantly greater than the impedance presented, there is an uneven shift in response.
Single dynamic in-ears have a flat Z, so it doesn't really matter. Balanced armatures have a variable impedance influenced by crossover, but sometimes the change may be beneficial.

Its a good price for a good cable. I looked at aliprice index and i saved $0.10c during the 11.11 sale.

Friendly reminder you want the 2pin 0.75 spacing for the QT2

For the price of the 215’s you can get the NICEHCK DT500 which sound better than the SE535.

Your posts are quality

I asked this in the previous thread, but I deleted it so I can't remember but
what ear tips are the best for KZ ES4s?

Rock Zircon ear tips are really good.

user where can I buy these?

Aliexpress

You have a link to them on aliexpress?

I need IEMs that sound good and have skip, repeat, and volume control. I had Rock Zircons and Xiaomemes and those sounded good but the cable split and stopped working in one ear. Now I have the MEE M6 pro with replaceable cables but the sound quality kind of sucks and I hate having one button to skip and rewind. The slider for volume control is also shit.
Please don't recommend chink shit.

fuckin' loving these. not proud of it..

Attached: IMG_0019.jpg (2668x2058, 1024K)

just get an cable with vol controls

nice user, i just got my andros yesterday

Attached: memdromeda.jpg (1500x844, 379K)

ah sorry brah i thought that that item's name was in the filename

aliexpress.com/item/TRN-BT20/32955022313.html

Its still a great IEM just overpriced

The earpieces still suck

Etymotic ER 4SR worth it?

the xr has a boosted bass response that sounds a lot better

I also have the andros, really good choice!

Compared to other TOTL IEMs they're downright reasonable, but the price of IEMs in general has skyrocketed so....
I remember when I thought the se535's were crazy expensive.

Attached: IMG_0025.jpg (2652x2622, 1.1M)

Even if I don't care about bass?

it doesn't make them super bass heavy, the sr is just anemic in the bass and the xr sounds more natural

that's what it was, thanks user

Is using an ipod mini 2nd generation better then using my phone (p20 pro)? And is there a good way to just upload files on to it? because itunes is fucking shit

That's an IEM with good sound

>better
probly not unless you want buttons.
>Files ?
There are ways around iTunes , musicbee is a good example.

I think it sounds a little bit better. Might be because the type c adapter. Should i buy one with "a dac inside"?. Is there a recommended music player for under 50$?

ITS NOT GOOD ENOUGH WE NEED MORE

LM4562NA driving the HP outs? They may have followed the manual's suggestion to use a resistor as safety towards capacitive loads.

Man I really wanna try budget japs IEMS, dank accoustic tech and less 5 driver meme , planning to buy either Co donguri brass or zero audio carbo tenore
