I mean the inherent lag the framework has that is in every damn Win10 settings screen and app including edge, which is part of why nobody uses it even when it has a decent layout engine. probably because it waits until the bloated animations, effects and transparencies are rendered to begin actually drawing shit to the screen, unlike previous toolkits.
there are useful animations and then there are gratuitous time wasting animations. and even then animations should always have an option to disable it for superusers who instinctively know how the apps will behave when interacting with a certain UI element, for whom the animations are just a waste of time.
what do YOU know about "UX"? do you have a degree on it? no? then stop talking out your ass
if the poojeets who engineered UWP were such UX geniuses, Win8 and Win10 wouldn't have been critiziced for having a shitty tablet UI on the desktop and being inconsistent all over the damn place
if ram for an 90s looking site with a few ads and trackers bolted on top is a problem for you, your toaster will run UWP like shit too so that's not a valid point

I agree that it should be possible to speed up/disable animations, valid point, but I don't think W10 animations are that long and annoying. I actually find it all rather snappy.

Chrome with just this one tab open uses 540mb, my application running in a VS wrapper (debugger) uses 80mb.
Personally I do not give a fuck, but I know that this matters for laptop users, etc.

I actually prefer WPF since I'm more comfortable with it and it has some features that UWP doesn't.
I chose UWP because I want to try it out, learn a few things along the road. There are a few annoying things I had to hack around already, we'll see how it goes.

he's using native windows GUI so if you change to dark mode, it should change with it.

pretty cool user here's mine. It take 0 additional space on my computer and automatically updates every time the api does. It's even cross platform and works on a phone.

he's not wrong, there's a particular set of ads that shows up occasionally that contains an "anti-ad block" script. Updated ublock origin blocks it now but it didn't for a while. I still have a copy of the deobfuscated js if anyone wants it.
