Normally I'd just recommend a ducky or leopold off mechanicalkeyboards, but they charge fuckin' $50 for shipping to milkbagland.

Guys I can't fucking decide. I'm between topre clones, cherry mx black, kailh box navy, kailh box white, classic model m's and an unicomp model m. I've wasted way too much fucking time researching and I just want to pull the trigger on something and forget about all of this.

Just get box navies, they'll be more tactile than anything else.

But I also like playing games from time to time, they'll probably be bad for that. Also, I actually prefer the switches to be more silent.

Get V2 zilents then. They're actually super tactile.

Oh, alps skcm orange on some apple boards too.
Thanks for the rec

Man, if you don't live in the USA the shipping is shit in almost every site, and chinese ones only have shitty rgb "gamer" cherry mx keyboards.

What cal is your levergat?

Just got an FC660C and I'm tempted to try switching out the domes for BKE Ultra Light domes. Anyone have experience with them? Do you like them? Note: I'm a big fan of MX Silent Reds and lighter switches in general, which is why I'd like to try something lighter.

browns are better reds, they're clacky but not annoying sounding and their actuation feels nicer.

topre.

It's like saying that cats are better dogs

I wanted this so bad at one point. Still kinda do desu.

Does anyone have any suggestion for a number keypad? I'm looking for blue switches, caps not ABS if it can be helped, and the price is no problem.

I was getting that or a gaming keypad, but I'm not sure.

What's the best switch for typing long papers with?

Whatever's most comfortable for you.

Ducky Pocket

Thanks.

Is it ok to ask advice about gaming keypads here since they're technically keyboards?

I was wondering if I should get the razer orbweaver or something else? And the g13 is expensive as fuck for some reason.

Is backlight really that must-have for a keyboard?

Attached: 1495386084583.png (612x491, 98K)

If you want it to be.

Can you turn the lights off from the Ducky Pocket?

but they are

What's the Casio f91w of mechanical keyboards?

Yes, just know that the default layer doesn't have an ALT key, but since it's programmable you can put an ALT key in so you can have ALT codes.

Dell L100

just got my ALT. what's a good green/white keyset? light green and mint green are my favorites but it doesn't have to be like that. pic related is my current set im going to buy once my Z70 pro gets returned.

it is to mechanical keyboards what the f91w is to mechanical watches.

All keyboards are mechanical tho
just look up the definition of mechanical

Old office supply keyboard that someone who killed herself gave me

Does such a keyboard exist? One that doesn't look really gaudy, at least?

I assume the Ducky has some software I have to download to do that?

No, there is no software at all, that even includes the programmable LEDs

Then how do you program it?

>Does such a keyboard exist? One that doesn't look really gaudy, at least?
It does, but not for dum dums like you

You just enter programming mode and select a switch, then program what you want the switch to do by typing the command. It's all in the manual and if you get lost and confused there is plenty of help on reddit, deskthority and geekhack

Alright thanks.

or you could just have a normal keyboard instead of being a special snowflake autismal sperg

would blues be a huge difference coming from browns ?

it's similar except actually good

lmao

I imagine the plasticky click will get old after a while.

those aren't too bad either actually, which do you think would look better on a silver aluminum case?

The ones you posted are ABS doubleshots in SA profile, right?
Pretty sure the ones I posted are lasered OEM profile PBT, so it depends on what you value more, SA profile or UV- and wear-resistance.

Would very much prefer a kit/DIY solution. I've looked into the S65-X RGB DIY Keyboard Kit, but the case is ugly as fuck honestly. Thanks

so blues are a meme ?

yes

Everything's a meme

so if blues are shit what should i get if i want a more clicky feel ? romer-gs ?

Box white/pale blue/jade/navy

>romer
oh my god no, please user, don't hurt yourself. Save some money and buy yourself a keyboard mounting Kailh BOX switches, such as the guy who has preceded me has said:

arent kailh shitty chinese cheap garbage

their MX clones are, but their box switches were made with completely different tooling

lol no
maybe old Kailh used to be bad, I don't know, but BOX Kailh switches are excellent. BOX clicky switches are especially impressing when they're compared to other clicky switches side by side.

Gonna look into it, thanks user

How noisy are mx blues exactly? Interested in this Vortex and it sounds really smooth, not annoying at all.
youtube.com/watch?v=Lq19NICcr-k

>how noisy are [insert siwtch name here]
user, you neither can tell that from a video nor you can expect anyone to give you a proper answer on this question of yours. The noise is influenced by multiple factor: material of the case and of the keycaps, pressure strength, mic type and position of the mic compared to the position of the keyboard. I used to have a keyboard with blue switches, so I could give you a hint on what they sound like, but it wouldn't be very accurate either. First of all, what switches have you typed on yet? Having a mean of comparison is important in these cases

>what switches have you typed on
brown and red

i wasnt able to find a tenkeyless BOX switch keyboard

then you weren't looking hard enough cause there are several options on aliexpress. If you don't trust the chinks then mechanicalkeyboards.com also has some

Any good scissor switch tkl boards? Don't bully me, I like laptop keyboards!!!

Then blues are considerably louder than both of them, even though blues' sound is definitely softer than other clicky switches. Also, if you're looking into a keyboard having clicky switches, I strongly suggest against buying MX Blues: there are simply much better options nowadays.
