Pretty sure you can just put in a Windows 7, Windows 8.1 key and it works fine.

yeah, the only thing you "lose" from not activating is the ability to set a wallpaper, its a LOT less naggier than Windows XP or Vista when it comes to activation

You can get grey market oem keys on kinguin, home is about $25 pro is about $30. I may not like Microsoft but windows does at least mostly work, and in my opinion it's worth $25. Even if I have antergos installed on a second SSD I do actually use Windows more.
