i'm going to stop developing mpv until these autists fuck off with this anime shit

ironic, isn't it?

mpv should have a "movie" mode, where instead of showing the whole duration of the video, it would show only the duration that has been played back from the start and updated as more of the video is viewed. Seeing how much of the movie is left can spoil the experience.

I love Seiba.

[extension.mkv]
no-osc

But I want on screen controls to remain!

I'm sure there's a way to hide it via osc.conf or some script, but I can't be assed to figure out something so pointless.

So then what the fuck is the best usable upscaling algorithm and how do I add it to my config file?

Read the manual, pajeet.

Doesn't tell me which is the best usable upscaling filter to use

Bullshit.

>It does, indeed.

mpv.io/manual/master/#options-scale

That's basic shit, I'm talking about external shaders.

RAVU and FSRCNNX. Do your maths, Sherlock.

What anime shit?

Thoughts on SVP and video interpolation with mpv?

WTF I hate mpv now

based
it's ok if you watch anime, but can you fucking stop putting it everywhere? it's fucking obnoxious
no wonder your father beat you

Anyone found a way to cache up the next video in the playlist before the current video is finished to get a smooth transition when streaming a list?

github.com/occivink/mpv-image-viewer
I can NOT get autoload.lua to work with image-viewer. I also get
>Error parsing option input-conf (option parameter could not be parsed)
mpv loads my image bindings??

I have a question, it's not entirely mpv related.
In mpv, after i try to launch a hevc file:
>[ffmpeg/video] hevc: No support for codec hevc profile 2.
>[ffmpeg/video] hevc: Failed setup for format vaapi_vld: hwaccel initialisation returned error.
(gpu is intel HD4400)
Do you know a fix or I have to deal with no hwdec ? Also I have to regularly (every 5 minutes) click in the progression bar (few seconds ago) to resync audio with video. It only happens with hevc videos.

It works nice

autoload.lua only scans for hardcoded file extensions, edit the script to add image files

wow. I've added extensions to autoload.lua before. I feel so fucking stupid right now.
Thanks.

Help, I get no sound in mpv unless I run it as sudo. I'm getting this output:

ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:1063:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to create IPC semaphore
[ao/alsa] Playback open error: Permission denied
[ao] Failed to initialize audio driver 'alsa'
Could not open/initialize audio device -> no sound.
Audio: no audio

Other players (like vlc) are working just fine. How can I fix this?

Are other AOs like pulse working?

I tried changing the audio device but it didn't work. SOme of the devices listed with audio-devices=help managed to make the sound work through my HDMI connection but not on my headphone.

[ao/oss] Can't open audio device /dev/dsp: No such file or directory

[ao/pulse] Init failed: Connection refused

[ao/alsa] Playback open error: Device or resource busy
[ao] Failed to initialize audio driver 'alsa'

What GPU and drivers are you using, and is the HDMI going out from said GPU? Does it work if the HDMI cable is removed?

>What GPU and drivers are you using,
The one that came with the notebook, the only one I have

>and is the HDMI going out from said GPU?
Yes

>Does it work if the HDMI cable is removed?
No. Neither with the headphone or with the regular speakers.
