Is 1440p a meme? Is there a big difference from 1080p?

Someone explain to me why an iPhone 7 has better single core use than s9+ pls. Ty.

Hey guys, Downgrading from Moto g5+ to a basic, dumbphone like a nokia 3310.

Anyone have any recommendations? preferably less than $75, works in USA, TMobile, Prepaid plan offers are priority.

No difference

Umidigi F1 confirmed pocophone killer?

Ive got a Axon 7 and a note 8. Purchased the note 8 like a month before the axon 9.

you're a fuckup, delete this thread

Should I buy a refurb S7 Active off Ebay for $100? They claim the phone has "LCD shadows", whatever the fuck that means but only show stock photos. Consumer cellular.

That shit is worse than Kirin, no kills for Umi today

What phone has the best implementation of HDR? I recently tried out HDR in low-light on my old Droid Turbo and some of the pictures actually looked pretty good for being taken on a 4 year old phone.

It depends how big the display is. It's sort of justified on any display over 6 inches but the differences between 1080P and 1440P become less and less noticeable the smaller the screen is. It really just taxes the SOC to push more pixels than are actually necessary which results in dogshit battery life.

Which variant of the s9+ should I buy?
>any exynos
>Chinese snapdragon
All rom and kernel development seems to be heavily focused on the exynos variants. Ain't shit out there for the snapdragon.

Its the nokia 6.1 good in 2019?

Make sure it has an unlocked bootloader, unless you never want an update. If I remember correctly it has an AMOLED which can experience burn in.

daily, unironic shill reminder that oneplus is the inexplicably best phone brand of all time and there's nothing you can do about it

My Nexus 5 that I have had since 2014 began boot-looping today. Google results say that it's probably the power button being stuck down, but it still clicks when I push it. I'm going to get some A/V cleaner and canned air tomorrow to try and clean it real good, but I'm worried that that won't work and I'll need to buy a new phone. Do you guys recommend anything that matches this description?

USA
GSM
rootable
minimal spying out of the box
stock apps removable or at least can be disabled
It doesn't need to have great specs. It needs to run telegram, k9, clover, firefox, and a few other miscellaneous apps.
Good camera would be nice
custom roms a huge plus but not absolutely necessary

Antifeatures that would be nice to avoid or disable:
fingerprint reader
facial recognition
google assistant
reliance on a google account to do anything with the calendar or contacts apps

>LG Q6
congrats. fingers crossed you don't get LG boot loops

Anyone using mint mobile in california? I am interested in their 3 months for $20 plan.

We got my mom a S9 for xmas. Her old iphone was dying a lot so she was in need. She really likes the wallet folio type cases since she keeps it in her purse and likes to throw a credit card or two in with it. Any recommendations for a quality one I can get her?

I have OnePlus 5T and Pixel 2 XL and text looks a lot sharper on the latter.

Or at least a reliable brand that makes quality cases in that style? I've never bought a wallet case so idk...and I wanna get her one as a gift.

Speck should make one. Maybe Nomad?

Note 9 or OP6T? I'm primarily concerned about software here since last time I checked Samsung had a dogshit UI that slowed their phones down. Is the Touchjizz meme still relevant today or has it mostly disappeared and if not will One UI get rid of this?
I'd prefer the Note 9's hardware features but the OP6T looks like it has a more smooth/clean UI.

Anyone here using a Sony Xperia XZ Premium? How is the battery life and snappiness? My HTC 10 screen is cracked and it's shitty and old now, thinking of picking up the Sony as they are very cheap second hand where I live until I can replace it with the XZ4.

I've been using one since August, it still feels sufficient for everything, plus now it's really cheap on Amazon. The pie update got rid of the camera app always crashing when you tried to open it (although the camera isn't that good, particularly in low light).

You had one fucking job, dude

Regular OP6 is better. 6T has no 3.5mm and it uses a retarded optical fp sensor that you have to double tap the screen first. The rest is identical.

If it's an oled it's going to be fake fullhd, definitely to qhd. On lcd fullhd is fine.

Just fixed my old Note 3 after sitting in my shelf idle for 2 years. Still the best phone I've ever owned.

The Moto X4 just received the Android 9 update, for anybody interested. Been using it this way for a few hours and it seems pretty slick. There's even one or two new Moto gestures if you're into that. Been pretty happy with the software support on this device so far despite Motorola's mixed reputation in that area recently.

HTC is dead my friend.

Guys
When enter this command:
fastboot boot recovery.img

It gives me an anti-rollback error
Redmi Note 5

>Is 1440p a meme? Is there a big difference from 1080p?
Yes it is
>battery drains faster
>barely any noticeable improvement since you are watching a 6-6.5" display

how good is the one plus 6?

Have iPhone 6S. Think to switch phone in the nearest future. Which one should I buy or should I throw my money at an iPhone 8? Dual-sim would be nice and battery life that is good.

buuump

It is.

Why don't you Google "s9 UI reviews" instead of asking a Vietnamese dog weaving forum that tells you to only buy Chinese items if a Samsung is good or not

That said, experience is fine and one UI is great. Beta 4 is out so it should roll out for good in January so you'll have it on your phone in no time.

I'm on Verizon so the OP6 isn't compatible.
