What do you think about the new Mac Mini, I know OP is a faggot. I currently own a macbook air as my work computer (I am bound to it because of iOS development).
The macbook air is a garbage computer, that taskes ages to compile shit, has limited upgradeability and has a lot of flaws. I am in dire need of an upgrade, because this shit just doesn't hold up anymore. And I am in dire need of a third monitor, and cant do that because Apple didn't update the firmware for it so it doesn't support daisy chain.
Since Im bound to MacOS, tried hackingtosh but have problems with every system update, and I need to do them since iOS development. And my 500$ linux desktop machine outperformed this potato. The big question is should I get some MacBookPro or just the new Mac Mini, or if anyone else has an idea on some other better solution.
It's rats ass that you have to pay so much, and gain so little but you are bound to damn MacOS. But hey I get the beautiful thin, aluminium unibody case thats gonna sit on my work desk all day and I wont give a fuck about how amazingly thin it is.
Was anyone in this situation, iOS devs/Hybrid Devs/Native Mobile Devs? How did you solve it? Currently doing ReactNative and Android Native Dev, so makes no sense to have a separate machine for it, it's too much of a hassle.
I don't want either, I just want a shitbox that can run MacOS (God forgive me). Unfortunately hackingtosh doesn't work out so good when you need to do iOS development.
Yeah I have been thinking about getting one. The only problem is you really need to get one of those lg ultra fine monitors because they are the only monitors with the right resolution for retina.

Go ahead, and come back when you find a real life problem bigger than your mom ordering you the wrong kind of pizza.

Mac Minis are shit but a used Mac Mini is the cheapest way you're going to have a legit Mac for iOS dev outside of paying for some cloud service to build your apps.

>or if anyone else has an idea on some other better solution. Stop making fart apps, moron.

Well Im stuck with this Macbook air (2012) crap 720p, so anything is an upgrade. Will prob invest in a good monitor as well though.

Great idea! Because you know, fuck working on real projects when we can spend the whole day tuning in our i3 config and anime wallpapers.
just get a build server and never worry about compile again

Early 2008 Mac Pro is dying I think. Screen randomly shuts off and the rear exhaust fan goes into turbo mode for some reason.
If I can't figure out what's wrong, god fucking help me, I may be stuck buying on of these things. I'm hoping my machine will at least last until the new 2019 Mac Pro launches so I can grab that older trashcan one on eBay which will hopefully be flooding the site by those desperate to upgrade.
Yeah, I know about the Intel NUC, but until there's a very detailed step-by-step guide, no way I'm chancing that purchase.
