I use NextCloud

>unironically
Fuck off

it beats constantly committing/pushing/pulling on github

Mega.

Encrypt your data before you upload. Then it doesn't matter which service you use.

Elbows too pointy, would not bang

Fuck off.

Where do these brainlets even come from?

aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh

this just use cryptomator or veracrypt and you'll be fine in most cases

See this:

I use it to quickly move files between local machines. Anything sensitive (accounting, taxes, code) I have a local git server for with encrypted offsite backups.

I do, wanna fight about it

Nope. I use CIFS / SMB and a VPN because it takes less time to setup than downloading dropbox does desu

Why are people using git as backup software?

No, I am not handicapped.

Are they still employing war criminals?

Syncthing best file synchronisation.

I just paid my monthy sub yesterday. I've had it for 4 years.

I use it not for "real" data, only for configuration files. Makes it easy to stay in sync on different platforms (macOS, Linux), and the free space is sufficient.

>cause its easy
this is the reason for 90% of the software/services i use

source?

Whats wrong with her elbows

Circles under eyes is my fetish.

I just use G Drive for unlimited storage

very pointy -3
elbows off the table -2
5/10

nice try, that's a tranny

Literal dropbox user here.

Recommend me some good alternatives.

I unironically use Onedrive

6 tb for 100$ per year, just can't be beat

this, I always encrypt my backup folder with 7zip and a 200 bits key before uploading shit to gdrive / whatever

I'd argue G Suite unlimited for $8/month first year then $10/every year after (even cheaper if you sign up through a country with a shitty exchange rate) is bettee

link for info? I never trusted gsuite

I've had a free one, like pretty much everyone on the planet, but it was what, 3 GB or something?
I've been mostly using box.com as I got 50gb "lifetime" for logging in with a sony phone at a certain day or some shit like that years ago, served me well.

Recently I bought another "lifetime" from zoolz, they have a really neat automatic backup options synchronizing the selected folders daily without you having to drag and drop shit, it was 1TB backup + 1TB dropboxlike "vault" for like 40$ or so?

I use ipfs. You can use dropbox securely if you encrypt files before sharing them, though, so there's no need to >muh privacy
Except if you're trying to b8 and not actually discuss, that is.

Don't forget to upload the key!

Control

This, with Git for file versioning.

I've switched to Syncthing. It's faster, has .gitignore-style ignore files and doesn't rely on a central server. I have a cron job to make hourly encrypted incremental backups to simulate Dropbox's history feature. That is less convenient, but good enough.

I don't really get DropBox. Even if you use cloud storage why would you use something that isn't part of an ecosystem like Google Drive, OneDrive or iCloud?

They had the best desktop client for a long time.

KITTEHHHHHHHHHH
ATTAAKKKKKKKKK!!!!

>>>/2008/

i'm storing my porn on dropbox,
i-is that a bad idea ?

>metadata

that certainly can be beat given the ever reducing cost of hard drives if you judge it based on a 5 year usage

yes

You're fine as long as you aren't uploading cp, gore, or anything illegal or anything else that may possibly violate their ToS.

fuck i have a shit ton of raycis memes on there

>Condoleeza or however you spell her name

This. I don't need a cloud or a fucking account.

I use Google Drive. Praise the botnet.

it's bretty comfy desu

ipfs isn't a great idea for any private data. also how do you manage what I'll call your "filesystem table"?

no, wtf, just no.
and since when is it easy to use unless you are using some cancer os that has it integrated in.

The only cancer cloud based thing i have ever used for file sharing besides my own hosted shit is line since it has encryption and nice phone and desktop clients. limited to only a couple of gigs though.

the wall to anyone who answers in the affirmative here.

Who would ironically use dropbox?

>be muh
>at uni doing collaborative stuff
>need to store files etc. for group to work on
>DROPBOX!
>end up with access to about 7 different db accounts all shared with other students
>we share them all (all doing the same units), get more storage by recommending to all the other accounts
>start putting ch00nz and some movies on them
> get mass email from ICT HoD warning about using "secure cloud storage" to fileshare illegally using uni accounts...
YOINKS!

I use it to sync quickly changing files between my encrypted laptops.

This. Syncthing + raspberry pi = ultimate cloud storage across all devices

I'm so lonely

For those who use syncthing, on f-droid (maybe play store idk) there's syncthing-client (i think), which allows you to use syncthing without syncing it to your android device, like dropbox

yup. Considering all I upload is cat pictures and my DnD character sheets, I don't particularly care.

She looks like her feet smell; would let her fist me.

I use it to sync my password manager files across devices.
