Then install the latest GPU driver from the GPU maker's website.

uBlock Origin randomly deletes all of its settings, any idea how to fix this? It's getting pretty damned annoying having to start from scratch every few days
John Collins
I've never built a pc or changed a component before, please no bully. I'm trying to put a new graphics card in my computer and though my power supply meets the minimum requirements, I don't have any more leads from the power supply to fill some of the empty sockets on the graphics card (picture is of the power sockets on the graphics card). Does this matter? Will the graphics card still run or do I need a new power supply which has enough leads for these sockets?
You need the additional lead. Does your PSU have the other one?
Ayden Torres
how do i get a gif?
Levi Bennett
buy a gatebox online
Carson Taylor
It actually depends. On some cards they are wired so that some of the phases on the VRM are tied to a particular power connector. You can buy a daisy-chain wire though and that's fine in most cases.
Adam Thomas
Anyone who knows about XMPP that can tell me how to permanently leave a MUC room? If I disconnect I'll just get connected again after I've restarted my client, and this happens regardless of which client I use. Is there something else you have to do to not be a member of the room?
Aiden Cooper
Turn it off the back on
Brandon Walker
No the PSU doesn't have any leads which would fit the empty sockets
Austin Collins
i haven't, I'd prefer not to spend money to fix it, unless its super cheap, because I'd rather build a new one, and just keep the hard drives also how could it be the gpu? i mean, when it does start up everything works normal, the fans going full speed and time setting to 2007 sound like a motherboard or cmos battery or bios problem. it doesn't get to the bios screen
John Reyes
I'll ask again here even if there is little hope: anyone know anything about making flash animations/loops?
Bentley Wilson
How do I sit in bed with my laptop while maintaining good posture?
Colton Gray
>unless its super cheap Somewhere in the $1 a piece range, available at the store near the Double A's.
>how could it be the gpu? Not the gpu. The gpu DRIVERS, fucking with your bios.
Alexander Parker
ah i see, thanks user I'll try those

If I turn it on to test without the other lead (as I don't have another lead) do I run the risk of breaking the card/other parts of the computer?

I bought a Chromecast Ultra on sale for like 40% off, but I still haven't unboxed it, and today is the last day I can return it.
Do I even need a Chromecast when my OLED TV can already cast Youtube from my phone?
If I need to watch something from my TV I can just use USB 3.0.

How to sell a software I've developed? I finished building a real estate program for realtors and I've been sending emails like crazy and the only call back I've gotten was because they thought I was trying to buy a house :( I made a good program I swear but I need someone to try it, so they can license it from me. Someone help please :( I'm inexperienced in selling software

what's the easiest way to fix page numbers in a PDF of a scanned physical book? is there a PDF reading software that lets you adjust the offset so that the numbers on pages match the digital number that the software assigns to each page?

Anyone know how to bypass or change a phone pattern password? I forgot mine because I changed it for no reason, now I cant restart my phone because of it. I have fingerprint so I can still use it, I just don't want to have to factory reset the damn thing just because my brain dumped it. Samsung Galaxy 8 Active, everything is up to date software wise as far as I know. I'm deployed with shitty internet so it would be incredibly hard and annoying to download my apps again. Currently backing everything up with Google in case I have no other way around it.

Is one static IP enough for a home IP security camera system, web server and FTP server? or should I buy more?
The ISP guy wants to sell me 5 static IP's and got me thinking in which cases I would need more than one.

Lately a lot of fags on here want to install Win 7 on their nvme or modern hardware. So I created a quick guide on how to do it.
Updating Win 7 SP1 ISO to 2016 version
Grab ISO Extract ISO content to Working folder. Use DISM to update the image with updates and drivers. Use oscdimg from Windows AIK to convert your working folder back to bootable ISO.
If you don't want to update and just want to use default Microsoft image on modern hardware that uses nvme and USB 3.0 get ASUS EZ Win7 Installer. Most of the time works on other hardware as well.
Depends on the price of static IPs. You don't even need a static IP for your systems. If you want to access from outside just have it periodically check the current assigned IP and email it to you

Are any VPNs not blocked for abuse on Jow Forums?
Isaiah Ramirez
plenty. you just need to dig and find those IPs that are still not banned
Jose Perry
thanks for that. actually i'm soon gonna upgrade my hardware and was thinking how to port my system (tho i might move to Debian)
Jaxon Foster
They all seem to be banned on strongvpn. Maybe I need Tunnelbear™ or NordVPN™ instead.

Yes. Also I have a Geforce 7800 GS OC I can sell you for $100.

They do have monthly bandwidth limit usually, 1 TB, or 2TB. Last time I checked.

Buy an enclosure and put a WD or Seagate in it.
Xavier Roberts
so i just got done building my new pc and im about to install windows via flash drive (not gonna activate it) on my ssd, do i necessarily have to disconnect the hd when i do this? both the ssd and hd are new btw does it even matter?
Christopher Martinez
That's acceptable.
Austin Harris
If you had no real estate contacts or connections prior to making this software the it was doomed to fail. You can't just walk up to someone and tell them you made software for them and ask them for money anymore than you can wash someone's window while they're at a stop light and ask for money.
Cameron White
>anyone know anything about making flash animations/loops? I made flash games for newgrounds back when I was 15. Flash is literally obsolete now though (literally. Browsers will stop supporting flash in 2020)
Gabriel Myers
if you can, get a good 3,5 and put it into an enclosure. when it comes to 2,5 things are a bit more complicated but from my experience ST2000M003 are decent
I have a laptop with ubuntu every few days the wifi stops working and it says device isn't ready, normally I just restart it and it works, but this time it hasn't been able to connect since...
after light googling every forum post i've seen are old fixes or the problem is never solved, it just works itself out after a reboot...

If I'm replacing my old AMD card with an nvidia one should I uninstall the AMD drivers first? Or does it not matter?
Parker Carter
It doesn't matter.

Sold a key for some Fortnite stuff to a guy on ebay, he hasn't said anything since I sent it to him though. Checked his feedback history and it seems like he mostly just buys sunglasses, though he is active. How much should I worry that this is a guy whose account got hijacked and I'm gonna get FUCKED when he comes back and reverses the transaction?
Isaiah Campbell
>hasn't said anything Does this mean he didn't pay?
Cooper White
No, he paid really quick. He also bought the thing for the buy it now price which I honestly thought was a bit high rather than waiting to bid on it, so I sent the key over right away. Money's still in lockdown 'til the 3rd though since my account doesn't have a long sale history so I'll be sad if it turns out I got scammed.
Easton Myers
But I just mean like, no confirmation reply after he got the key, no feedback left for me (though checking his history it seems like he hasn't left feedback for a lot of sellers so that COULD be normal)
In some ways wish I had mailed the thing on a card like a lot of people insist on to avoid that worry but I didn't want to deal with the hassle at the time
Kevin Gonzalez
I've had an issue with the Network Manager program using "predictable interface names". So instead of the wifi interface being called "wlan0" it's named after your wireless card/driver (so something like "enp5s0") freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/systemd/PredictableNetworkInterfaceNames/
These "predictable names" can prevent your cards from working, but normally it means you can't connect at all. Forcing the interface to be named something standard like "wlan0" fixes this. Maybe this will help you!
Caleb Phillips
You're going to have to call ebay and talk to people from India if you think there's a problem. I just bought a CPU from a reputable seller who it turns out isn't prompt about his feedback. I've got my item and he has his money though. You haven't been paid. You're going to have to talk to the Indians if you're feeling paranoid.
Elijah Carter
I mean it's not like I have reason to believe anything has happened yet. It's not even been a full day yet and I already have the guy's money, I'm mostly just worried it MIGHT be someone whose account was compromised who will take it back later, but could just be me being paranoid for no reason. Hopefully...
Lucas Sullivan
If the moneys in lockdown you haven't been paid.
Parker Martinez
Looked it up. Less powerful. so I should stick to a PCIe card then if I want best result? I'd use a cable, but that shit would need to be long or I'd need to drill a whole in the wall, which I don't think I can do.
My oriignal question was fora PCIe card that was cheap and reliable.
Colton Garcia
Now you compare PCIe to USB.
Adam Gonzalez
That's what I said I just did. It's less powerful. I want the best I can get for a decent price. That's what I was asking.
Julian Davis
I've never had problems with USB adapters. You can do your own reading though. Both solutions are relatively cheap.
My frame rate tanks unless I turn off hardware acceleration in Firefox. Can someone help me understand why a 1060 should be struggling with both a youtube video and an NES emulator, and do I have any alternatives besides turning off hardware acceleration?
Luis Allen
run mbam/uninstall norton
Jose Richardson
I've been using mbam for years (and incidentally, I've never cared for the redesign). I'm not infected with anything. It's specifically when a video is being played in my second monitor in a browser with hardware acceleration enabled. A locally stored MKV file in media player classic doesn't have the same result, and a regular-ass page of text doesn't kill my frame rate either. I have it narrowed down to those specific factors.
Lincoln Powell
Whats the make on the 1060?
Gabriel Sanchez
Is there a simple way to screen share a windows desktop to a crappy laptop to play games etc.?
I bought an MSI gaymur version because from what I understood, despite the gaudy marketing and gimmicky LEDs they tend to actually have better cooling and better overclocking potential than do their cheaper counterparts. Specifically, I bought Gaming X 6G.
Though come to think of it, my old 760 did the same thing. I'd say it's still related to hardware acceleration and videos, but if there's just something wrong with this card in particular I'd appreciate you letting me know.
Dominic Lewis
You could try steam in home streaming.
Jack Garcia
Not sure where else to ask this. Jow Forums? Jow Forums?
Wanted to buy some gear at amazon but they have a promotion where you get a 50 dollar gift card for getting their credit card. I couldnt give any less of a shit about the card, i just wanted the 50 dollar gift card. Anyone know if theres any strings attached that arent obvious? Literally gonna cut up the card and toss it when i get it i just want fitty free bucks, just dont want to get fucked with hidden fees.
Lucas Baker
I've just started with spacemacs and i'm liking it so far. I'm trying to setup a comfy environment for python project development, but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. Basically, I want to replicate two features from pycharm: (1) running the main.py file from anywhere in the project and (2) debugging. For (1) is the only thing to do write a makefile (for python code...), and run helm-make, which I'd bind to C-r or something like that? For (2) is all I need to do import pdb and then set_trace() whenever I want a breakpoint? Has there been any extension written where I can separate the debugging statements from the code and just, for example, click on the line in the gutter to set a breakpoint?
>Though come to think of it, my old 760 did the same thing. Have you checked out any issues with the motherboard?
Ryder Mitchell
If I knew what to check for, I would. It's a cheap-ass Asrock z87, so that is the most logical point of failure besides my OS shitting the bed. Could you point me in the right direction on what could be the problem and how to fix it, or at least to understand why my mobo being crap is the problem?
Benjamin Hernandez
You need a new psu man. I just changed out my friends gpu for him and he had the same problem.
Michael Young
Had to temporarily switch to HDMI but the color calibration seems different... Wtf?
John Jenkins
I’m certified in using configuration based programming for this company’s products, but, but they recently released tools to program using python: extron.com/technology/landing/programming/
How does a faggot who’s only done configuration based AV control programming get started with python?
Henry Hernandez
The right direction would be searching the shit out of your asrock z87. You could try a different OS but I'd investigate the hardware first.
Samuel Flores
the other guy is retarded. Maybe try and sell your software to a software company, who'd then sell your software to its target audience. If you do that, make sure you get a lawyer/otherwise ensure they can't steal your shit when you show it to them/sell it to them.
Or you could go balls deep and start your own company, at least in name. idk how to do that. You'll want a website and you'll probably need to fill out some kind of forms. You're probably looking more for business advice than tech advice now, user.

How 2 use socket5 proxies

Well lads after years of faithful service my freenas boot stick is starting to fail. Got my config backed up so if it totally shits I can restore it no problem. Right now I got it temporary fixed via the "upgrade" option during freenas install. I plan to fix it proper once I get some other things done. Gonna redo the zpool layout, from Z1 to Z2. So I need to move all my data first. When I built it I used Z1 cause I didn't have any clue as to how much space I'd need and I didn't want to box myself in. Few years later I still got plenty of free space, enough to cover Z2 with some left over.
have you tried tutorial, how-to, setup and usage, or language reference from the main page yet? docs.python.org/3/
Colton Cooper
Also... Now that I think about it it might be because I unplugged my GPU which was using mDP and am now plugged in using HDMI... Maybe the monitor (dell ultrasharp something or other) stores its calibration settings separately for each display mode? Only problem is I can't find a way to get to the calibration settings for mDP with it not plugged in so...
