i really like the idea of downgrading to a dumb phone since i really don't use my smartphone very often, but i always get hung up on the fact that it is so convenient to use one as a GPS for navigation. there are also a select few apps that i don't use anywhere close to daily, but would be pretty inconvenient to lose access to, like uber.
i don't give a shit about having a smart phone for typical zoomer social media shit, i barely text anyone and am not the type to be looking down at it in public at all times, but goddam any time i think of getting rid of it, i realize that there really is a lot of utility to having it beyond the mindless stuff the media criticizes endlessly

Dumbphones with hardware at the level of the low-end android phones with non-lagging firmware and good font rendering when? Why you can get android phone for $30 with 512MB of ram, dual-core cpu and 480p+ screen, but $100 dumbphone will have like 16MB of ram, ~20mhz cpu, 240p screen and firmware that runs worse than worst cases of android phobes.

I myself need smartphone features way too much, but if I was forced to switch to a feature phone, I would buy an aesthetically pleasing refurbished Nokia from the time when they were still made by Europeans instead of chinks. I would probably go with Nokia 8800

I bought a dumb phone for 6 months. It was the worst 6 months of my life. I was in Colombia and my iPhone wouldn't work due to carrier issues.
Had to carry a music player just to listen to music. Dumb phones are good though to disconnect from the constant connectivity but sometimes I want to look at porn or watch a movie or read a e book.
