How much RAM is enough for tab hoarding?

how much RAM is enough for tab hoarding?

500mb per tab

16GB minimum

>"Doctor, is there anything wrong with me?"
>"Have you been tab hoarding lately?"
>"... yes"

Ignore who tells you otherwise:
Below 100, and it heavily depends on the tabs (like if you have those 1000 posts Jow Forums tabs, you could get fucked earlier), you can get by with 8-16. Anything above 100, you need beefier hardware (think 8c16t or 6c minimum).

RAM? Enough? Do you want the RAM manufacturers to starve to death or what?

Why would you ever have 1000 Jow Forums tabs open when the thread watcher exists?

what if he IS the thread watcher?
128gb DDR4-4000

Install an older version of your browser. They get more bloated as time goes on.

>tab hoarding

Ask your doctor about psychosis and OCD.

if you use anything chromium based you gonna need at least 16gb.

I am currently on Firefox with 2000 tabs open and it takes 500mb ram.

For what purpose do you have so many tabs open?

you need this
addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/rudolf-fernandes/

if you use opera then 8gb is far enough

this, also install treee style tab to manager all of them

32, I run out of 16 from time to time.

chrome has added an experimental caching system op. look it up. You're no longer bound by your ram.

Firefox: 3500 tabs use 300MB
Chrome with Caching set: 500 tabs use 1GB

>Firefox: 3500 tabs use 300MB
kek, what? That's a fresh Firefox session

Bookmarks and history are a thing, user.

i have 24gb and have actually run out
god save me

What do you mean with chrome with caching set ?
What do you mean by caching set ?

>"You're beyond saving foolish human"
>"BEGONE"

>have 16gb
>keep running out with Adobe shit open
>upgrade to 32
>hit 23gb
Good lord.

I always have over 100 tabs, and I didn't notice any change when upgrading 7700k to 8700k.

I'll never understand tab hoarding. Just bookmark them. The absolute most I've ever opened at one time was around 50 because I middle click all news links I find interesting and then go through them. Finish the article, close the tab.

>Thread watcher is a person
>He knows what threads you're lurking at

You must not have been around in the mid 2000s. Around the time Windows Vista launched, it was common for browsers to have literally two or three dozen special features, tabs, and icons.

He would probably want both of ya' to stop watching so damn much trap porn

That's bullshit and I don't believe it.

32gb
i have ~50 tabs open, pic related

your tabs will make a fine addition to my ever growing collection

Stop using tabs as bookmarks.

I have about 200 but rarely have more than 20 loaded at one time.

I use bookmarks as well, but I only bookmark things I know I'll be coming back to many times. If I only intend to come back to it once I leave it open in a tab.

kek

Browsers should have a cap of like 10 tabs maximum. Close them when you're done, and use search history + bookmarks, you'll never need more than 4GB of RAM.

Thought I was the only one

I go through more tabs than that when I'm shopping for a new PC component or just reading about shit. Fuck off with your restrictive demands.

FUCK YOU

>adobe shit
dude I never hit 4gb with adobe shit

12 rams

32GB does me well at work where I keep hundreds open cause I'm really bad at closing things when I'm busy

Never really get over 26-27GB even with a couple VMs open

16gb just werks for me

Photoshop and large files are a cruel mistress.

so close to quints

Maybe you shouldn't tab hoard in the first place.

NO

for Fuck sake use opera JESUS

Your joke has reflected upon hitting me!
Continue ? , Retry ? , Abort ?

Not my fault I have multiple desktops and lots of ram

maybe you should up your desktop environment rather than using substandard browsers

Attached: 1545604981777.jpg (612x600, 30K)

Somehow I can have multiple tabs over multiple windows over a 3x3 virtual desktop grid without getting close to fully utilizing my wimpy 8GB soldershit RAM

>New Chrome update forces their shitty fucking tab redesign on all users and can't be disable via flags
Back to Firefox I go.

>i dont like change
>>moves to something as fluid as time matters in star trek

ok

>If you don't like having options to keep the shit you like then you just don't like change!
Eat a bag of dicks.
I should be free to tell your shitty redesigns to fuck off if I don't like them, forcing that shit on me makes me not want to use your fucking platform.

For some reason firefox on my system uses more ram than (((chrome))), i only use forefox because it doesn't overwork my cpu

if you dont like shitty redesigns i have no idea why you moved to ff

i used to use it like 6-7-8 years ago but it's been downhill since then

i have it installed it's just not good

>choice
>Chrome
I'm not sure where this expectation came from in the first place. Also why FF instead of Vivaldi if you're into choice?

I'm literally using it right now and it's miles better than that godawful Chrome shit.

if you think so im happy for you

each user is different i guess

>use a fork to eat soup
>complain about the fork not being properly designed to handle soup
>people tell you to use spoon
>cry that your freedoms are being trampled and fork designers need to get their shit together
