the real question, does it come in brown?

Why should I care about quiet fans when I've got one of these running 24/7?

Attached: dohm-classic_iso_022_shopifyhero_1024x1024[1].jpg (1024x683, 35K)

is this an ad

yes of course, why would you want any other color?

Well the prototype there is clear, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't gonna get shafted with an aesthetic change

coming 2020, maybe. took them long enough to make the 120mm version
also 40quids a pop

>premium fan

What's next, a premium Molex cable?

with RGB

>Ultra-tight tip clearance

Attached: vince vaughn.jpg (400x356, 14K)

I don't understand. What did they change? Is the clear coloring mean they're going to be shoving RGB into their shit too?

P R O T O T Y P E

>What did they change?
way more blades for your money

>clear coloring
it's because it's a prototype, they only add the pigments for full manufacture.

is it too much to ask noctua to make a white fan
i like my box's white/black Curiosity rover aesthetic

the 120mms are pretty good too

yes prototype I get it.
OK that makes sense. Although I still don't see what they could have changed since the last model.

Noctua said it themselves, they are unable to make the same specification fan in black, as they currently are able to achieve with their brown and beige materials.

Maybe this prototype is either just a mock up, or they figured they could make the 140mm version in poo or clear options to entice more people who typically want aesthetics

>they are unable to make the same specification fan in black

Attached: 1539007320434.jpg (800x573, 63K)

That's the IPC rated industrial line, not the line we are talking about

Attached: 1539440479293.jpg (602x338, 65K)

those things are way louder than the poo colored ones

A friend gave me one of these

youtu.be/YZlQQlRcbXM?t=542

In real life, it's literally 5 times worse. What the fuck were they thinking?

Attached: 41awWfr9JEL._SX466_.jpg (466x350, 20K)

i already have $3 fans that runs silent, just put a little lubricant there.

alright you made me check the spec, they are identical

>now posting CPU coolers
I don't think you understand what a product line is

That's a blatant lie.

Noctua sells their chromax variants of NF F12/S12/A14/A15, all in black with different colour mounts.

Attached: guts.jpg (4164x3752, 2.69M)

Gentle Typhoon replacements by Noctua when?

No. We were talking about the NF-A12x25. Noctua said they were having difficulty making the 140mm version, and at CES this year they said they can't make it in black with the same specs.

I can see you are a fan boy, so it will be hard for you to accept it but it's just the way it is.

The specs are not identical between their lines and colours
noctua.at/en/products/fan

I'm not attacking Noctua, just posting facts

Actually my mistake on the Chromax, the Chromax are the same specs as their brown counterparts, but my comment about the new NF-A12x25 still stands.

Also lol Chromax 140mm is 45AUD and the NF-A12x25 is 59AUD haha wow

big deal i guarantee it's not quieter than my fan

A12x25 are in a league of their own in the 120mm category. I doubt the 140mm version will be much worse, if any.

what's a ad?

Attached: screenshot 453.png (449x525, 216K)

i have no idea what you're talking about but my fans quieter

based

I've been using "next gen" for the past 10 years. Funny it took Noctua this long to copy Nidec's design.

it takes time for patents to expire

I have 3 of the nf-a12x25; they're excellent
I didn't know about Nidec; i'll check them out

>Nidec
spec is worse than noctua

what has the colour to do with sound performance?
its just a pigmet

It's not the colour, it's the materials. They can't get the same sound profile and specs as it affects the fins

I'm no expert, but Noctua have said it on a few occasions

If you care about how quiet shit is you're a faggot
Care about performance of cooling not the sound of it.

What?

>no leds
get that fucking fag shit outta here you goddamn nigger.

Sorry you'll have to speak up
I can't hear you over the sound of my PC's fans keeping my shit cool as fuck at 100% speed

Fuck quiet fans. Get me loud fans that cool more than quiet fans that cool less

But fan performance = cooling capacity/noise level

You can make any shitty fan run at 4000rpm and push ton of air but that doesn't make it a good performer

You can care about whatever you want you faggot

For me the order is noise, specs, colour and price

I'm wondering if A14x25 will outperform SW3 as a case fan

What are you saying? My delta fans are at full rotation and my server is trying to lift off like a drone.

I'm not certain but I'd probably bet on A14 beating SW3 on almost everything except colour and price. But they get pretty close which is good enough for me.

The reason it needs a prototype is the design doesn't work at larger scale and is noisy this product will never come out

>what were they thinking making the best cheap fan around
>like it says it's loud but I don't bleeeef it
>oh shit it's loud what a bad product.

You're a moron.
Find a quieter fan that does 95cfm.
Also find a fan that does 95cfm at under 500mA.

My case is full of SW3s and NH-U14S fans. SW3 are extremely quiet but some have reported that A12 although very silent, has a higher pitched sound signature than the competitors.
That could be a deal breaker with hardcore silence autists like myself.

But then again I've been waiting on the 140mm version for so long so I can go full Noctua all around to complete the theme. But these are probably still 6-12 months away from release.

I have heard rumours that SW3 has a better sound profile/signature than Noctua

Here in Aus the A12 is $59 which is quite astonishing. SW3 is $29

Great now I have to pay $40 for one fan.

>I have heard rumours that SW3 has a better sound profile/signature than Noctua
you got that reversed

Well if both myself and are hearing comments about it then maybe it's not

i can hear the noctua fans over the SW3 that came on my darkrock pro, even at 100% i cant hear the SW3's

Ayy. My PC uses only high rpm Be Quiet fans. On medium speeds they are almost dead silent a couple feet away.

Maybe it depends on the fan type, I know my old F12s had a sound signature I didn't really like, I prefered Gentle Typhoons more.

I really like Noctua but they are not the absolute best in every scenario/for every ear.

Same, my 150mm Noctuas are noticable over SW3 but they tend to spin slower and they probably don't push as much air as Noctua.

wtf where is the brown

they would make a mint if they released these.

black heatsink is proven to cool better too

BEST FAN COMING THROUGH

They have black chromax series too kiddo.

Yeah that's been covered already

>before 2010
>wtf why is this fucking fan a gay brown colour
>2010-2015
>hey these weird fans are based and actually high performance
>2018+
>what the fuck where did the brown go

100k rpm fans tend to do that

Noctuas are quality fans, but imho the best way to silence your pc, if you are into this stuff, is to put it to another room. It always baffled me why none of these "quiet pc" focused sites never wrote articles about this option, but I guess it wouldnt make the sponsors happy (or inner voice of people running/reading these sites which is satisfied only by buying new stuff). Merry christmas anons.

>buy two of these
>says on the box something like 'blade design inspired by turbojet engine'
sound inspired too apparently

DELET THIS REEEEE

Attached: reee.jpg (800x522, 30K)

>don't want to break your leg?
>cut it off

>argument shows all signs of being made up by cut off leg
merry christmas to you too drunk noctua sales representative/xxxquietpcxxx editor

Why dont they just make watercooled fans? Best of both worlds I imagine.

move to a cold country, no fans needed. simples..

>tfw having the scythe rebranded ones
work pretty good

It's so silent even light goes through it.

It took so long scouring eBay for me to get 9 pwm versions of these, hopefully they don't break

what if i put a box and put my pc inside

shut off snownigger

why are you showing the prototype? they literally are selling these "sternox" fans right fucking now
