Ban on archivers

Is this legal?
Doesn't this violate net neutrality in someway?
Is this the end of hoarders' age?

speaking of tumblr, lets say i want to watch my favorite toddler vore however it says that its +18, is there a way to bypass it withotu making an account?

>he thinks net neutrality is still alive in USA

>folk
FUCK OFF

folk off yourself you folking folker

I'm just mad because I can't archive the sissy porn.
Doesn't this fall under tumblr (Verizon) gender confirmation protection policy?

Didn't tumblr ban all porn?

Hell if I know, honestly, and I doubt tumblr gives a damn if it's legal or not.

>sissy porn
I'm mad about the dry orgasm guide that was lost.

In a way I feel bad, I'm an archivist (not of tumblr, honestly fuck the shit they did to their images), but weren't people supposed to be actively archiving that data as it came out? why panic archive like this and get your shit kicked in for being super vocal about it? People should have known the warning signs that this was going to happen and have started back then at the very least, dumb shits.
>to answer your questions
Yes it is.
not that I'm aware
Fuck no it isn't people were just caught with their pants down even though there were warning signs.

>the warning signs
Like what?
I'm archiver as well, mostly magnets for torent sites.

When tumblr made people log on to see content from blogs that were flagged, that should have been the biggest flag to everyone, I'm surprised no one panic archived when it happened, or at least had heard about.

sorry, I didn't put a date with it, back on February 4th

Well, not every blog was flagged.
Blog about male masturbation aid and techniques wasn't flagged behind a login gate.
Maybe because it was educational?

Not yet. They're doing it gradually.

Fucl tumnrl for banninng anlll torn, tbey can get fucked in tyebq ass by a hunters of ujlunhdeaes nigggers

i will tell you how if you share with me

Probably, these "large" sites/companies don't understand anything and what counts as sexual to people (foot fetish blogs I heard were still up). Shit like this is crazy to watch because of how public this all is, hell, that head apple faggot doesn't even want you looking at porn on their platforms.

>folks
Fucking soÿboy.

People in my region have been using folks since well before the internet was a thing

They can drop Tim Cuck a call and his platoon of kike lawyers will make it legal.

>gotta zoom on that 1/x graph because we're still only getting closer to complete collapse and STILL not there yet

Net neutrality is a provider thing. A site host not providing to everyone isn't an issue.

It's soi-core now
Adapt or die

Turns out a lot of those phrases and words are part of something called 'the English language'. I'll do more research, I think humanity might have forgotten about it.

>Is this legal?
yes a service provider can ban anyone they like from their service for any reason
>is it illegal for tumblr to ban people they don't want using their website from using their website
how entitiled are you?

gotta archive all that cp before it get deleted

>Is this legal?
To block people overloading your servers or for any or no reason, yes.
>Doesn't this violate net neutrality in someway?
No.
>Is this the end of degeneracy age?
Its the beginning of the end, stay tuned!

Jow Forums used to block archivers too

But the site is owned by the provider.

It is not the end of the degeneracy age by any means.Porn is way more in demand than alcohol and we all know how prohibition went down.

This is probably the end for tumblr but other sites will take on that kind of content. On the internet when one door shuts ten more open.

Tumblr is your ISP?
Interesting.

Verizon is.

This is the kind of person that thought they were outraged over bet neutrality

The problem is Eternal Summer.
Too many retards drowning out anything sensible with low-effort copy-paste groupthink.
Memes were a mistake.

i only ever used tumblr to browse katannauk, so i just archived her shit right after the announcement

>tumblr
Is this still relevant?
The changes they brought to the UI, made the site barely accessible on PC and you'd need to use their app.

Why don't you have it saved?

Why would a bunch of text be censored?
Also I kinda mastered the techniques needed, but I don't know how well I can phrase it like the blog did.
This purge is just like the burning of the Library of Alexandria, the obliteration of the Library of Baghdad, the destruction of Aztec codices by Itzcoatl, and the burning of Maya codices on the order of bishop Diego de Landa.

Ah, you Americans can be so naïve. Your freedoms can be taken away quite easily, read about what communism and censorship was like and prepare from now.

>Also I kinda mastered the techniques needed
Well aren't you a good little sissy.

>Well aren't you a good little sissy.
You're confusing me with the other user.

A company or person running a free website can ban anyone from visiting or posting or blogging for any or no reason. You're not entitled to anything. Now, if my co-located servers are taken offline with zero warning then that's different since I'm paying for the space and connection and have a contract.

This has nothing to do with net neutrality, btw. That's a ISPISP peering issue.

Tumblr is a pretty big service so I doubt they are banning people who archive the site because of load issues, but if it's on a large scale then it's quite possible. As a remotely related example, I have a box serving sites in Norwegian language only and after seeing massive amount of bots from China and Ukraine I started outright banning /16's and even /8s - which is cheaper than tripling the number of servers just to serve a bunch of worthless bots trying to exploit older versions of CMS systems that aren't even in use on that box.

Its not going to be banned just eventually only on porn sites that will have to comply with the new user identification laws and web safety standards.
You can't escape the botnet.

>You're not entitled to anything
But the content of the site was produced by the public, no?

Imagine how cucked you have to be to unironically think this. Guess what, the founding fathers also weren't entitled to anything and the British Empire had every right to tax them as much as they liked. Jesus Christ, stop being a loser and stand up for yourself some.

Yes but its their fault for designing a shitty scrapper.

i hope you learned a valuable lesson on how nothing on the internet lasts
always save things locally

tumblrviewr.com

Maybe. But sites like flickr, tumblr, facebook, ... are a bit big to archive locally alone. There is value in concentrated / coordinated efforts like archiveteam and archive.org and so on.

You wouldn't have managed to easily download those ~56.8TB that they got either, right?

The overwhelming majority of it is stolen content that almost certainly violates copyright law. It would be removed by copystrike bots eventually anyways. Even the amateur stuff is rarely redistributed with consent.

Yall want to be pirates now walk the plank.

Attached: 1543351441352-pol.jpg (648x336, 55K)

> muh pirates
Well, do you own the copyright to that image and the text contained...?

Just about everyone is a pirate on the internet. The only thing copyright holders can try to do is piecemeal change people's perception that they should own everything very strictly as the text says. If they pushed the issue now, the pirates would in many places probably just take over the ship and kill copyright as it is.

oops, meant tumblviewr.com

>404
Well, it's also dead?

so how is that Xanadu coming along?

Sage you can ban any block of IPs you want from your web service whether they violate your EULA directly or not. It is also trivial to get around one.

Educate yourself, billy-ray

tumblviewr.com/Tumblr/Blog
lol sorry, try this.

educate me, daddy

>Doesn't this violate net neutrality in someway?
This is how much the people who cried about muh net neutrality actually understand.

reminder that blocking archival sites is the last desperate measure of those who know they spout nothing but shit, but dont want to be called-out on it later

No it's not fucking illegal you retard. On their end it looked like a DDOS.

Fake and gay.

>On their end it looked like a DDOS.
100 IP addresses systematically downloading sites at a few items per second?

I believe that looked like an archival / mirroring more than a DDOS.

Things like these happens when you prioritize diversity over competency.

Time to spin up a warrior then

Aryion is where you want to be user. Just leave the SJWs in their cave, all will be fine.

Fake? No.
Gay? It's Vice, of course it's fucking gay.

>Fake? No.
It is though.

>people wanting to archive Tumblr
>the same fucking images you can find anywhere else 24/7
>fucking stupid people will be the death of us all

when are you going to start your transition

There's plenty of stuff there that didn't get posted to other sites, and I agree that fucking your mom will be the death of us all

>porn
>on a christmas day
>on a holy day

I'm lonely.

jesus is born, saw you watch porn on his birthday and made pissed off baby face.

you disappointed him.

I don't worship a jew whose existence hasn't even been confirmed.

>This is the kind of person that thought they were outraged over bet neutrality
This man knows what's up. Go to /b/, OP. Plenty of degenerate shit there for you to "archive."

Jesus wasn't born on 25th of December.

>made up bullshit to cover up a pagan religion
>now commercialized nonsense driving yearly shopping frenzies
>Jesus wasn't even born in December

fap away boys

It's fake, if they could get away with it they would though.

>ethical journalism
>oh by the way we want to retroactively edit what we said because it looks bad now

Attached: ohboy (2).png (214x170, 22K)

It is a hoax though. They hate archivers for adbux not for political reasons and didn't even go so far as to block them.

>stand up for yourself some
I just did and you'll realize this if you re-read my post a few times and actually think. I've got co-located servers with various sites and services. You do not get to demand that you can post whatever you want on them or my lawn or front door. You do not get to demand that you can run ten bots scraping the content on them either. You're also not entitled to enter my home and talk to me about politics or religion or whatever else for hours either. If you want to pay me to rent space on my lawn and we enter into a one year contract then that's different.

>stolen content that almost certainly violates copyright law
this, lots of people think everything on the internet is in the public domain. it's not.

It depends. You can make a bot scrape a site one request per minute or you can let it send as many requests as bandwidth allows. The former isn't a problem. The latter becomes a problem real quick if many do it at the same time and it's very noticeable: No human's going to read 200 pages per minute. It stands out.

>pic
oof and yikes friendo
