Are in ear really that bad? That's my preferred type of headphone. Works good to drown out helicopters and motorcycles.

they aren't any worse than headphones or speakers if you use them properly, though people do have a tendency to turn up the volume more to unsafe levels with iems

Holy shit the Solaris drama boiled over again.

Are the fake selling chinks behind this meme?

Attached: pol_pl_Sluchawki-Sony-MH755-7867_2.jpg (1096x900, 103K)

no idea. I wouldnt buy legit ones or even fakes as even real ones barely last for a month.

What's the drama about?
Chances are high.
Few threads back user said that the best way to get real ones is to buy SBH24 or SBH56.
That guy with IEM measurements database got his with SBH56

So the measurement guy (crinacle, the MC of this drama) hears a ~4k dip in the 1st Solaris unit.
So he goes to demo a 2nd unit which sounds better.
Now, he hears a 3rd unit which also sounds different and measures differently too.

Attached: 1515063405514.jpg (409x670, 58K)

it's all just fud against campfire! who cares that he thinks the andromeda is a great iem and even thinks the best solaris unit he tried was still very good, there's just no way an audio company could have qc issues and large unit variance, that's never happened ever!

So whats the general consensus about the BQEYZ KB100? I for one think its a beauty, and I'm planning on getting one.

>BQEYZ KB100
At that price you could get the KC2 or th K2 or even the Yinyoo V2.

There's no consensus because nobody is buying them and there's no reviews except for one from who knows who.

Yeah only one reviewer shilled them recently and its only since he rec'd them that they started showing up here. Looks fishy desu.

...

Fuck off.

>two threads for practically the same thing
no u

>>two threads for practically the same thing
one thread is for discussion of iems and the other is a shitposting thread about dicks, how is that the same thing?

Both threads are about head-mounted speakers.

Attached: 1545874541226.jpg (623x916, 86K)

How does the ER4/XR compare to the kilobuck+ IEMs? Does the price/quality curve start to dip off fast after ~$300 similar to headphones?

/hpg/ is very dedicated to headphones specficially and IEM discussion usually is lukewarm or goes to shit very fast in those threads

Anyone have a TRN V80 and a BGVP DMG? I just wanna know how big the DMG is compared to the V80 before I get one, I've small ears and the V80 is just the perfect fit for me.

iems are in ear you moron.

Sucks to be you then. Instead of backing down and shitting up the board with yet another unnecessary general, shit up their general with your relevant discussion.

>hurr headphones don't sit on your head they sit on your scalp, you moron
This is you.

*destroys your chinkshit*

youtube.com/user/clavinetjunkie/videos

fuck you nigger. At least theres discussion here.
Jow Forums fucking sucks with ayymd and shitel shitposting going on in at least 2 threads constantly Arch and applel shitposting and i could go on and on. 75% of this fucking board is shitpost. fuck you.

retarded contrarian

I tried plugging the 2 pin cable on my IEM backwards and it sounded the same
Is this normal?

Attached: 1526388509023.png (590x677, 111K)

my inner ears are always hot and moist so these are an absolute nightmare. Unfortunately the in ear shit has take over the ones that don't go in. Sometimes these come with converters and whoever has them are based as fuck.

You know if all the people in this thread were in the other thread there'd be discussion there, right?

absolutely not. A simple glace in hpg and you can already tell its almost only shitposting shilling and those who arent guilty of these always recommend the same sets meaning that its stagnating.

That sucks.

>meaning that its stagnating
I think it's because full-size headphones are stagnating as well.

Wait until IEMs just all start using 3D printing for precise construction even at the $20 level. Then you will see the price of IEMs drop and sound quality increase across the board.

Is 3D printing actually cheaper for large production runs?
Using molded plastic seems quicker and cheaper.
And people will still want metal shells.

>Is 3D printing actually cheaper for large production runs?
Probably, and the more advanced and cheaper 3D printing gets, the more IEM companies will use it and make IEMs that are precise, consistent and more sonically accurate.

Then just slap a metal shell on top.

>Is 3D printing actually cheaper for large production runs?
Not yet, not even close.

KZ used 3D prints for their AS10 and its turned out to be their best. Just a matter of time.

Campfire Audio Comets are meh. I got them for Christmas. Maybe a 10-15% improvement over Mee Audio Pro v6 gen 2s, but the treble is pretty bad. Listening to a song with lots of cymbals or something similar is rather unpleasant. Very piercing and actually kinda muddy highs

I should add though the build quality is fantastic and they feel very nice in your hands.

Strangely enough, I am not an audio engineer of any sort.

Do I belong here? I just want good earbuds.

Yeah, sure, mate. Nobody here is.
Ask away.

>My first custom IEM has a single driver
>The next one has 3
>Now my current one has 6

If this pattern holds my next one will have 12 drivers. Help

Budget of around $150, very high comfort expectation, otherwise just want truest sound, no added bass or anything.

Would prefer detachable wires. My last earbuds are being replaced because of wire problems.

Just ordered the Audeze iSine 10 without the lightning gimmick. What does /iemg/ think of them?
> inb4 >/hpg/
Yeah yeah, they're marketed as in ear headphones because of their drivers' size. But I just know /hpg/ has a higher chance of ignoring it since they're in ear than you guys

Attached: x884iSiNE10-F.jpg (1000x794, 97K)

If you live in a big city then give the IEM a try first to see if it is comfortable. I've seen people who find universal IEMs to be unbearable no matter what kind of tip they use.

>don't want to wear nice earbuds to bed and also want a decent backup pair
>use to watch porn or YouTube on phone in bed
>sometimes music
>right angle plug or detachable cable
>$20-40
>preferably not aliexpress
Thinking about the Tin Audio T2s on massdrop. Is the pro version worth it?

Ambient Acoustics have a CIEMs with 24 drivers per channel, you are fine for now.

Attached: aa_am24.png (800x800, 769K)

pretty good though severly overpriced. Pretty dank bass extension

>24 drivers in one side

Attached: 1536595880990.png (766x1000, 240K)

>wants to wear T2's in bed
>for fucking porn
what a fucking waste. Get something under 20$.
why dont you want to order stuff off Ali?
Just fucking get ES4s off amazon or something baka

Comfort is very subjective. Almost everyone liked KZ ES4, while I never was able to fit them; on other hand T2 was a good fir for me, but a lot of people here saying that it fits like shit.
I found Shure-like shells to be most comfortable. They are small enough to fit snugly inside even smaller ears.
Ones pictured are NiceHCK DT300 Pro. Definitely do not have overpowering bass.

Pro version is the same as regular but without the grill in the nozzle.
For $35 is't an okay deal, but mind that md shipping often takes longer than any chink — they at least have 60 days limit.
Now it's about «can we», not about «should we».

Attached: m0.jpg (3642x2577, 3.83M)

There is one guy actually

Needs the cipher dsp to sound good

>There is one guy actually
Oh, really? That's cool. Did he said something interesting or just used it to put himself above the rest?

t. Greasy chink worshipping gweilao who are too ugly to even get a shovelfaced gf

He drops hella knowledge bombs like they aint shit but hes cool about it.

Huh, they showed up on the same day. Time to see if I got chinked.

Attached: Screenshot_20181227-121156_Gallery.jpg (1898x1057, 966K)

>gweilao who
literally

whats the most comfy iems for 10$-50$ but preferably under 30$
i got the tin audio t2 and they sound better then my TAKSTAR PRO 82 but they don't fit in my ear that well and i need a to use a box to carry them because the wire is fucking shit
i also had the rock zircon but the bass was too fucking loud (even thou i mostly listen to hip hop) and it wasn't detailed at all. but they fit in my ear almost perfectly.

Einsear T2

I own a T2 as well. You might want to try an ear clip (or ear wing, not sure).

I simply wouldn't go cheaper than a T2, you're not going to be satisfied.

Try to reverse the buds. wear the right on your left ear and left on right. Then there's the new version of the Yinyoo V2 tuned by one of the engineers over at TRN that's a better T2 and apparently fits way better according to reviewfags.

>Ordered t2's two weeks ago
>haven't arrived yet
>already obsolete

Attached: 1521748539088.jpg (970x545, 50K)

that's what happens when you buy chifi, just enjoy your t2s

>obsolete
Thats what you get with chifi. Its evolving quick. T2 are still one of the best values at 50$ and if you got it on sale then you're golden.
T2's still have somewhat better treble although its a bit fatiguing.

I got it for $36.
I'm over reacting for comedic effect, I'm sure I'll be happy with them.
I've been using Jaybird X2's for the past couple of years, so it's going to be a step up no matter what.
unless they come damaged/unbalanced/don't come at all/I get chink some other creative way
Really piling on the doubles here.

I quite enjoy my t2. I'm mostly into hip hop, so I perfer TRN V80 with comply foams. My ears are complete shit tbqh tho

Attached: IMG_20181223_072722~2.jpg (2448x2094, 748K)

Just watched his e3000 review and his measurements are completely off. He utilizes ears instead of couplers like he should be doing and is probably not getting proper insertion.

T2s were a overhyped meme to begin with. Easy to hear how they were bested so quickly. They aren't exactly the best sounding for their price even on sale. I'm guessing Tin audio is about to have a ton of overstock they will dump on Massdrop for pennies. 10$ T2s will be a fun pick up. It's happened to many FOTM iems when people realize they're trash.

Why do people still spend hundreds on headphones when $30 chink iems sound better?

I ask myself this daily.
Fear of being chinked I guess

That's fucking massive. If only we had an autistic japanese user to make a comprehensive list of soldering irons/stations and their tips.

Anyone try the decibullz custom molded. Not sure I want to dump $60 into a pair for shit sound

because they don't sound better

>Calling $20 chifi earbuds IEM

It's the shape that makes them an IEM, nothing else. It's like implying that IEMs 20 years ago were better than the chifi ones are today, they're probably not. Just having a high pricetag means nothing.

How does a shape differ earbuds from IEMs?

this is an earbud, they sit on the outer part of your ear and do not insert into the ear canal

Attached: 614Z8gi9YIL._SX425_.jpg (425x425, 10K)

I beg to differ, those are earphones. Earbuds go into the ear, and IEMs are a subclass of those, sometimes with multiple drivers but designed to provide a specific reconstruction of the sound (often for musicians or audiophiles) and a high level of noise isolation.

How does anyone sell 400+ USD UIEMs. Isnt the fit of a CIEM so much better. Cant better/ similar electronics be found with a muuuuch better fit. I just dont understand why more people dont have customs.

Attached: 2018-12-17 09.55.51.png (603x613, 656K)

because unless you actually need them as the tool they are designed for you will barely even notice the extra comfort and isolation, it's not worth the extra hassle over universals for casual use

>How does anyone sell 400+ USD UIEMs
Yes plenty of companies do sell these.
>Isnt the fit of a CIEM so much better.
It often is and it's often much more isolating but UIEMs are plenty comfortable for many.
>Cant better/ similar electronics be found with a muuuuch better fit. I just dont understand why more people dont have customs.
Making ear impressions isn't something everyone wants to do as it's a time consuming process which can take weeks. When you purchase a CIEM the resell value of them lowers drastically compared to their UIEM counterparts as they have to be reshelled and that's an added cost and inconvenience for second hand sellers. If you want to retain the best resell value on your kilobuck IEM then you better buy a UIEM. A lot of people purchasing expensive iems are individuals who are very invested in the hobby and love to keep up with the latest and greatest. Having security in resell is pretty important to them and you don't give up anything significant.

I wonder, I did it wrong the first time and it definitely sounded different, sound stage felt backwards or something like that. Now they sound the same if I do it backwards or not, maybe I broke it but it still werks.

It took me 15mins for an impression

of course but you have to drive out to a place that does impressions, ship those off, and then wait weeks for them to make you shells. It's not as quick as buying an off the shelf UIEM.

im this close to getting the beoplay e8
somebody help me and convince me otherwise

I guess technically earbuds means the same thing as earphones, but I like to differentiate between the "in ear" and the "disc shaped" ones (such as that picture), since I never see the term IEM used to describe in-ear earbuds at stores and such. Googling "earbuds" gives me images mostly of the "in-ear" style, though with a significant minority of "disc shaped" earphones too. As far as common opinion goes, I don't think I'm wrong.

>use IEM for 20 minutes
>clog it completely with earwax
>tfw

screwdriver time

I am new to headphones in general and was wondering

Are there any guides for headphones in general? Anything to know? Or is it pretty straight forward?

that's because people who don't know what they're talking about use earbud as a generic term for any ear type headphone, you're basically saying calling all tissue kleenex is correct because that's how other people use it

go to a doctor

Well Kleenex is a brand name, same with Sellotape and Hoover, which aren't too bad to call things at all. I'd liken it more to Amerifats calling tortoises turtles.

I've actually had issues with my ears clogging up leaving my hearing significantly lower. It eventually stopped happening and doctors never said there was any real issue. I did have to wax suctioned off my eardrums tho lmao that was pretty fun.

Most of the stuff you will see are lies

Step aside poor chinkshit buyers
