I only have 8gb and I never have an issue with Firefox. I usually have Waterfox open too so I can run some old extensions that are no longer compatible with the new version. I can't remember the last time my PC was unresponsive and slow. Usually that's only an issue at boot but my PC is quite low end, HDD not SSD, etc...
