144hz 1440p monitor for $150

Basically I'm a pretty competitive in FPS games and obviously went in the market looking for a 27" 1080p 144hz screen after the torture of 60hz IPS with 6ms widescreen. I came upon an Acer XG270HU 144hz 1440p 27" monitor for $150.

The thing is I only have a 1070 Strix and I'm not sure if i'll be getting any 144hz with my graphics card in Rainbow six, GTA V, Pubg etc. Now the main point of this post is I'm totally fine downscaling the 1440p to 1080p in compeitive-like games but, would it give me the real 1080p experience or would it be a pixelated shit show?

Why not just get a 1080 144hz

Because for this price I can have both 1080p(downscaled) and native 1440p which sometimes I'd like to play with on singleplay scenary type games.

just get it and return if you don't like it fucking idiot

Getting it second hand no refund you fucking turbo fag

...

so if you come to check it for working condition, why not bring your computer along

>implying that 144hz makes a difference in competitive FPS totally not game sense, netcode and teamwork

It does at games like csgo. But when you already have achieved a certain level. I was playing with a Naga 2014 and my aim and precision suffered. Upgraded to a deathadder and instantly got 2 tiers higher. Now i upgraded to a 144hz monitor and got just shy of max rank. My shitty connection is the last major issue i have.

Not technology.

I've got that monitor and I'm v happy with it. 144hz is pretty great in faster/esports games. I've got a 580 tho so freesync is a godsend, not sure what it would be like with a 1070

Nobody cares, faggot. Fuck off to /v/eddit.

unironically kys

t. tool buying gaymurr food

>thinks overpriced placebos make a difference not practicing and out-thinking your opposition

>implying that deathadder and shitty 144hz monitor made the difference when good, old practicing did it and you were "tricked" into thinking that overpriced shit did it for you a.k.a placebo effect

>cheapest 27" 1440p 144hz monitor in Europe is €400,-
What the fuck America, stop that shit right now.

>would it give me the real 1080p experience or would it be a pixelated shit show?
If you're truly into competitive fps games you should know that resolution isn't that important. I used to play csgo competitively (sort of) and most people's resolutions were around 800x600 - 1024x768, especially at a professional level

What's most important is the refresh rate, not the resolution

> kiddies and /v/tards that are convinced refresh rate matters when they are fucked by netcode bullshit outside of a LAN.
>implying that resolution doesn't matter for long range, no-scope sharpshooting

>has clearly never played a competitive FPS game

The difference between 60hz and 144hz on PC games is glaringly obvious and you clearly don't know the difference between that and input lag, faggot

>t. R6 """competitive""" player

1080p scaled to 1440p looks notoriously bad. Which is a shame: if this monitor were 1080p it would be a steal.

1440p is a beautiful resolution though. If the game supported 1440p natively I'd take that any day, on 27" it basically looks like 4k

Are Acer VA panels any good or should I stick with Samsung?

People who play at 1080p when their hardware can support 1440p are retard cargo cultists. 1080p does not give you any competitive advantage, you fucking loser

I got a 1440p monitor 75hz, a 1070TI and in games like Squad on more or less "high" settings I stay around the 60FPS. 144hz 1440p is worthless unless you have 2 2080s on SLI. Same thingh as pretending 144hz 4k is worth it.
