Who are you trying to convince, user, us or yourself?

Because is fun

It works and so does any meaningful software that is necessary.

runs well on my older hardware.
runs better than windows on my newer hardware.
better-documented, more featureful and more powerful system interfaces.
more powerful shell (don't even try to shill PowerShell, we both know it's garbage).
no built-in spyware.
no built-in bloatware.

Myself, I want to use GNU/Linux but I just can't make up why.

Gives you more control over your system
(try doing the same in windows using powershell lol)
Its lighter on resources
Its not a botnet

>my
This is irrelevant, you know.

>pretty
>more reader frenziedly font size
>toaster friendly
>comfy
>not windows

Runs faster on newer and older hardware. You have to learn new things to use it. You won't be a cuck who's ok with bloat/spyware. People think you're a hackerman when using terminal. No real threat of viruses. Best OS if programming. To piss off winfags who know they have shit system. The list goes on

You don't have to use it as your main OS. Here's my current plan on using Linux:

>Have desktop, use windows for playing games and shit
>Have laptop for when I go to places without Wi-fi for long periods of time
>When not using laptop for its intended use, have it connected to a kvm, where only the keyboard and mouse are shared
>The desktop and laptop will each have their own monitor, laptop using the top monitor
>Use Linux on laptop as an optimized comfort/information display, like a to-do list (Calcurse), stock information, audio visualizer and so on.

cope harder linshit user

This, I only use just as a hobby.

Then what kind of answer were you expecting you moron? Everyone here uses linux for their own reasons.

I don't know, everyone else uses it. It has, what, 90% market share on mobile?

at least say it was your gf's

Using it as a server. I buy a VPS for $5/month and it runs debian. I use it as a server for my android app and as web server for my personal website.

The biggest negative for Linux is the possibility that you could turn into one of these idiots.

>not using windows AND linux on separate machines
Retards these days I swear

Dubs script

>free
>runs better on everything
>shells actually work
>not all distros are botnets
>few viruses, old people, kids and stupid people can use it without getting computer AIDS
>constantly can learn new things, keeps your brain active
>fun to use
>easy control over how it looks
>only thing you cant do on there is play AAA video games, which are shit anyway
>etc

Why Windows?

better for productivity, dev tools are easier to use

ya got your $0.02 from microfags?

It's free

Thanks to Steam OS now more and more games support linux

Really? So I could install Android x86 instead?

ITS A COOL KERNEL FOR OPERATING SYSTEMS SUCH AS ANDROID AND GNU NOW FUCK OFF AND TAKE REDDIT WITH YOU FAGGOT

imagine buying ANY OS, EVER.

How is steamOS anyway? Is it worth installing?

I don't know what that is but ye, you can throw Windows in the garbage bin

No idea haven't tried

>I don't know what that is but ye
It's Google's Linux distro.

Keep glowing

Less malware

Its useful in the development and programming world since it is free and mostly universal. Using other systems would limit accessibility since windows and Mac OS are both paid to play.

then don't use it. it's as simple as that

you'll keep using windows for everything and boot into linux only for desktop ricing threads

>no built-in spyware.
>no built-in bloatware.
except built in amazon search lol

Android is absolute fucking cancer due to (((Google)))

>Runs faster on newer and older hardware
___________
*puppy linux, not applicable to anything productive

Manjaro KDE, which is a "bloated" Linux distro according to Jow Forums virgins, uses less than 500mb RAM after startup, whereas Windows 10 uses about 2GB.

Wow, it must boot 4x faster than windows 10

It doesn't, but I can tell you it runs a lot faster than Windows 10 in everyday use on my old 3rd gen i5 laptop.
