Are there any conceptual problems with Wayland other than not having "muh forwarding"?

I bought a 10 dollar bluetooth mouse that came with its own little adapter and been using it for a few months now. tried using it today and it isn't working. the light turns on, the adapter connects, but for some reason it isn't moving my cursor or scrolling or anything. I know its easy to say the cheap little shit just broke but I have a feeling its something on my laptops part since I haven't dropped the mouse or anything like that. any ideas on how to fix it? already tried updating/reinstalling its driver

im about to get an ssd (860 evo), is there anything i should do for it when i get it installed and setup? im already going to do a clean install of windows 10.

well I'm a dumbass, the battery was dead
threw me off because the light still turned on. shit lasted like 5 months too

Black screen/No signal after instaling Nvidia drivers on my 1060, what's the cause? ive used DDU and its still the same

is it maybe the specific driver you are using? what driver is it?

ive tried the latest and the oldest one for the 1060, outcome is teh same

I'm trying to set up a multiple display HDMI setup on my new house.
I want to be able freely choose to connect either my PC or consoles to my desktop monitor, bedroom TV or living room TV in any arrangement I want.
I looked up and the best solution I have come up with is using plenty HDMI splitters, but that's a retarded idea. Anyone here that has solved something similar?

is your hdmi cable plugged into the 1060?

yea it is,

is 30gb alright for a windows 10 partition that i'll only use to play games installed on an external drive ?

Does a 5400rpm vs a 7200rpm NAS drive really make much difference?

I currently have a mix and its largely Plex streaming and game and photo backups. Transferring a lot of files from one to another I'm sure is slower, but I'm not sure I notice much difference in terms of using it for a NAS or data server. (I'm sure it would suck to run a game server off of but I wouldn't do that because up speeds are shit anyway)

I ask because its really time to replace some drives. 5400rpm nas drives are fairly cheap in high storage and 7200rpm are a lot less so. Seagate has some okay priced 7200 8tb drives, but I've not used Seagate in a longtime because they were a bit shit some years ago. Perhaps that has changed.

I have an issue with WiFi extender
There's no internet coming through
It's not communicating with the access point and I do the configuration with the app etc
Put in the router's password and all that
I don't get it

An accurate depiction of what I'm looking for.

Is there any way I can get back pics I've deleted a year ago? They were on my phone, and I don't use and memory cards. If it helps to know I use an Axon 7.

it would be extremely comfortable

Some phones (like mine) have a 30-day hold for deleted files, after that they get deleted permanently.
But since you're talking about over a year, then you're fucked for good, unless by some miracle you activated Google Photos before that which backs up photos in their cloud automatically.

Any reason I shouldn't buy this? I'm aware it's chinkshit, but I'm fine as long as it doesn't immediately brick and has play store access.

FUCK. Thanks anyways.

What the hell does => mean in Guile (Scheme) programming languages?

I keep seeing it but never with a description, and it also seems to be undefined when I try it in my guile repl. Is there some module that needs to be imported for it?

I've gotten the other implementations of the djb2 hash (bit shift, and multiplication) to work, as they give me the same result for the same string, but the xor version doesn't. Is it supposed to, and if so can someone please write an implementation of it?

What's the best way to host a website anonymously.

I got a USB controller, works great but windows detects the R button as the alt button which is annoying.
How can i change this?

Is it worth paying $1300 for a brand new pioneer pdp lx5090?

As soon as I unplug the drive disk management loads. Please help anons

>Seagate
You were asking for it.
Boot on Linux and check if its detected.
>i dont use Linux
Make a USB with Linux Mint Cinnamon and Rufus then.
You wont install it, just boot into it and check what is your HDD doing in the disk section.

I bought a 250 GB drive, wanting to move my OS over to it to free up space on my current 500 GB C:/ drive. I tried to use Clonezilla to do this, but it won't allow it as it can't clone the 480gb partition onto the smaller drive. Is there some way I can do this without needing to reinstall?

How do I get rid of depression?

I'm using it since it's the only way to get decent touch-screen support. Some things are broken with Wayland:

- VS Code on gnome crashes your desktop and consequently logs you out.
-On KDE I had freeze when using expose/show all windows.
- I've had to do some command line magic to get some program to run (looking at you virtualbox).

I also wished fractional scaling (changing DPI but not by 100%, 200%,...) would work.

So yeah, some growing pains. Still, I use wayland as my daily driver and I'm happy with it.

whats causing the depression

Fuck that's funny.

Create a new partition and move your stuff there, then clone your OS partition.

I heard you can buff it out with a hair dryer and a plunger.

I only have 150 gb of data on C: right now, but the partition is 480. Wouldn't making a new partition format the drive?

cognitive behavioral therapy

Was looking for a program I can use to make any generic window transparent when I want to, is windowtop.info/ a good choice or is there something better?

Should I give my my ssd a formal burial?

You don't, you manage it by removing things that put you into a despair spiral.

Essentially every 5-10 years your brain will do a huge chemical overhaul, try to train yourself to feel better during those intervals.

Don't dwell on sad shit, don't run scenarios through your head after something shitty happens to you, etc

Lot of different things can cause depression, so I can't say it will work for everyone, but for me changing to a better diet, making sure to get balanced nutrition and not eating so much sugar and junk food shit made a big difference in my overall energy levels and motivation. If you're eating shit food you tend to feel lethargic all the time which makes stuff worse.

When using back up and restore on windows 7 does the drive i save my back up on get wiped or can i use a drive with data on it?

What's the best youtube addon for Firefox that's still active?

Windows 10. Whenever something happens that makes me have to restart my PC by holding down the power when I turn it back on I get a blue screen which says it can't start because a device can't be accessed or something and I need to use recovery tools. So I turn off my PC, unplug one of my hard drives (Not even the one with the OS on it) and restart. It does it again. Then I plug the hard drive back in, turn it on, and it works.

This happens from time to time whenever I have to turn it off with the power button. For example just now a game didn't close properly and I couldn't alt tab or task manager or anything, so I had to turn it off like that and it happened.

What is this shit and how do I prevent it?

I have having similar issues with usb media storage. Probably the "october" update being real fucky AGAIN. More reason for me to find LTSC editions of windows and never update windows again. all the greif it's given me over the last couple months has seriously made me consider linux, even for

never mind, it doesnt format, i just had to delete pagefile and hibfile

What cheap seedbox is the best bet? Nothing major, just for downloading a few hundred gigs or so a month. Bonus points for taking crypto as payment.

What ide should i get between sciTe and geany ? They both seem lightweight and fast

Is there any good Public DNS Server out there?
I've read that google's a botnet, openDNS is bad, etc. (arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?t=1251525)

My local ISP blocks a few porn sites, and I don't really trust them anyway.

is there such thing as a usb mouthpiece that you blow into and it can determine how hard you're blowing air into it? I have this idea for programming a wind musical instrument program that you can play by holding down keys on your keyboard and blow.

please no dicksucking jokes

fair warning, /v/ post incoming, hide the post now if you're about to bitch about it
I've recently taken up pubg as a way to connect with my little brother, and for some reason I'm getting 20-30 fps on average on very low settings in 1440p with a gtx 1070, r5 1600 and 8gb of ram. Now I know I should get more ram, but the resource monitor keeps telling me the gpu is being used at 99% and it's 95°C. What's going on? Is the card toast? Is the heatsink fucked? I get about 50-60 fps in 1080p, still very low setting. According to the internet it should be way higher.

pubg is a very poorly optimized game in general, so take that for what it's worth

I figured that much but I'm also only getting 30-40 fps in Doom at high to max settings whereas last year I got 90+ with the same setup. Is it possible that I just got a bad card and the thermal paste/heatsink are fucked? I built this PC at the height of the mining boom so I got a relatively obscure single slot card called "katana" because that was the only one in stock. I knew the heating would be subpar but it used to be better than this.

I've downloaded the Win 10 Activator from pastebin.com/smjvLZN4
I've tried every button from Activate, Ream, EZ-Activate, etc. What am i doing wrong?

When I click EZ-Activator, it just runs, then finishes, stops and nothing is shown on the console, the same for 'Available', Phone and Check.

Is 3600Mhz C16 RAM worth a 80% price premium over 3000Mhz C15?

Does GPU sag get worse over time or after about a week or so is that as bad as it'll get?

check out gentoo.org/

absolutely not

He's a cute boi

for you, I suppose.

I asked yesterday and got no answers. What is the difference between a 3a vs a 5a usb-c cable considering I will use it on my keyboard? From what I saw the 3a will only allow me to plug and use the keyboard, and the 5a can also transfer data (so I can update the keyboard firmware in the future). Am I correct or there is something else I should pay attention?

god i really hate windows, it's just 99% of the apps I use for work are windows only.

use an alternative, wine, or a vm.

No. Question doesn't make sense desu

his question is quite clear, are you sure you're not a retard?

A VM is out of quesiton, I use heavy applications.
Anyway, thanks for pointing out wine, didn't know about that. Did some researching though and I've read that Wine has mostly garbage compatibility for most of what I use.

Anyway, I've been planning for a long time to dual boot my PC with linux for programming,

you can also pass through actual hardware to the vm, if you have two gpus you can use one dedicated to a vm, if you have a single gpu you can also use a passthrough vm but you will need to terminate your desktop session before launching to vm to free up the graphics stack

wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PCI_passthrough_via_OVMF

even if you only have one gpu a single passthrough setup would be better than dual booting, you would run a script from inside your gnu/linux desktop that would launch a fullscreen windows vm running on your real passed-through hardware

gitlab.com/YuriAlek/vfio
I used this for my single gpu passthrough for windows for muh games and it works without a hitch, running a gtx 970 and a ryzen 5 1600

Thanks m8 I'll take note of that.

a good alternative to ejie.me Clover 3?
looks like shit on windows 10

I do this because I need to use Catia for work. Would recommend.

Since when is SciTE an IDE?

You don't need to do anything, other than die.

How can I install Microsoft Edge to Win10 Enterprise LTSC 2019?

What the fuck, answer my question you dickheads

>What the fuck
Pretty rude.

LTSB/C don't support it / store afaik

Sent from my LTSB device

You didn't ask a question though.

I installed store so I assume I should be able to do the same with Edge tbf

Enjoy troubleshooting your L1,TPLink/EdiMax/LinkSys/Tenda/Dlink/ and all those other shit-tire boxes

hard-reset -> reconfig -> trash

Worst case just del it after u get what u want,
maybe a phone emulator?

shit I thought this was CSG, I clicked the first thread in the catalog without checking.
My bad.

Can you ELIBrainlet how do I add a module on a setting in Linux?

I'm trying to go through the TLP FAQ because my laptop freezes during shutdown and it states the following:

> Solution: add the mei_me module to RUNTIME_PM_DRIVER_BLACKLIST.

I understand that I need to go to the terminal and open the settings file using a command such as

>gksudo gedit /etc/default/tlp
(although i'd prefer opening it with nano, it's clearer in general)

But once there, what should I do?

What is wrong with hercules dj controllers? I saw some people shitting on them on this board and I want to know what exactly is wrong with them.

anyone?

I have this old ass Genius Speed Wheel ForceFeedback steering wheel, and I cannot get it to work on Debian. The thing has a gameport connector, and i plugged it into the pc via usb conversion.
When i do 'lsusb -t', I do see the wheel and info about it, but apparently no driver is loaded, says '...Driver=,...' Also there is no input event generated for this device, in 'dmesg' i only get messages about the device being connected, but no 'input' message. Also 'lsinput' does not list the device.
Now I have been searching like crazy over the web, and I know Logitech wheels are supported, and certain Genius devices too. So I'm trying my luck here, if anybody would have a clue how to make it load proper driver (but which one?), and how to make it register as an input device? Or am I out of luck?

I have a 5V power supply with a + and - plug that I want to power a tiny device, but it only has a 5V and GND connector.
Is - the ground or do I only connect the 5V pin?

The power supply has a 2 pole euro plug, so no grounding is happening in there (or does it? I was under the impression the 2 flat side panels or the 3rd pole is for grounding)

When should I use interfaces?
Using Go and I feel like they're too important not to make use of but I don't know how they're meant to be used.

Just flashed a stock rooted android 9 rom on my google pixel xl(marlin). I had backed up stuff with titanium backup. However, when i go to install titanium backup on the new 9, it force closes immediatly. Looking around it seems to be a random error and one that isnt ever fixed.
How can i get it to install?

Whenever you could have multiple implementations of something where you don't care what they actually do.

For example create interfaces for your data access classes so you can mock them with unit tests without needing an actual database.
Then your SQL is abstracted, you don't care what it does or how the queries look like since you only rely on the methods defined in the interface.
This also lets you switch database providers by just implementing the interface again and using the new one.

My windows 10 evaluation version expired.

How do I make it stop auto shutting itself down?

I have an AC1200 router, should I upgrade
