Washing machines are technology!

Washing machines are technology!

Currently looking for a washing-drying machine, are they reliable in general? Don't have room for stacked machines sadly.

No they are no good or reliable. I know it from my uncle how worked in retail.
General they get half the life of separate machines

Is it because of the cramped interior making suspending the drum difficult, or just that they see double the use with people drying everything to a crispy cardboard inside them? I only dry sheets that i need the same day and only if it's cold or rainy outside.

dont! double duty machines dont last very long (drier breaks up very easily). also "smart" (mcu) machines are dumber than old physical programmer dumb machines. you have been warned

they stopped making machines with electromechanical programming ages ago. I agree on the double-duty tho, my ariston-hotpoint's drainage pump jammed every few washes and after a while the dryer's heating unit exploded.

Whatever you do don't buy a machine with a computer and sensor and shit. Biggest mistake ever.
Just get one where you push the knob and turn the dial and it doors what you set it to do

Lg

Get one with an actual good ui. The current siemens iq700 washer takes far too long but is OK.
The companion dryer (iq800) is fucking awful. Ui sucks dick, no one understands how it works and the manual doesn't make sense. 8 called them up and they don't know either.

I have an iq500 i agree they take long but isn't that just a worst-case estimate it gives? I've seen them jump 10 mins off programs if you underload them and others with shorter programs usually cause soggy dried laundry or detergent stains. The phone connection shit is a meme.

Miele. if you don't mind the extra cost and want your machine to last 15-20 years, it's a God tier brand

Siemens & Bosch are the same BSH Hausgeräte GmbH (or BSH Home Appliances) 10 years warranty

LG
10 years warranty

TOP-LOADING. Do NOT Get front-loading.
Top loading will clean better, INFINITELY better. They last longer. Get a top-loading machine that is marketing for commercial use, like in an apartment complex's shared laundry.

A plain, white, top-loading machine with no digital interface. It will last decades longer than a high-tech front-loading machine, and clean everything better too

The ONLY reason to get a stupid new front loading machine is if you are a woman with super frilly delicate clothes that really need to be lightly handwashed

because that's about as good as a front loader is, it's equivalent to lazy gentle handwashing, like just swishing clothes around in not enough water and then squeezing it out. Shitty.

>Siemens & Bosch are the same BSH Hausgeräte GmbH (or BSH Home Appliances) 10 years warranty

That's only on the drive, they guarantee that they'll keep selling parts for 10 years but only the drive is actually under 10 years warranty.

I considered this, but most of their machines rely on their own (expensive) detergent, they won't work if the compartiment is empty and you threw in a tidepod, and they even nickle-and-dime you for a slot that accepts generic powder/liquid.

I don't really know why, my guess is that they have twice the parts that can fail.

I like front loaders because I can stack my washing machine and dryer on top of each other. Is there really any differences in cleaning? Top loaders seem to be an American thing, most other countries I've been to have almost exclusively front loaders.

Fucking this.
Fuck all the fucking washing machine companies pushing and forcing front loaders and digital shit onto people.
Washing machines used to last 25 years now you're lucky if they last 5

Since when is this even a thing?

Miele is the Rolls Royce of washing machines

Definitively a Miele if u can afford it.

My parents bought one 20 years ago and it's still running,

Also Miele stocks spare parts for a long time.

I actually heard front loading helps clean better because the drum is bigger so the laundry can benefit from more movement inside it.

combos are not reliable they are shit
dryers are a meme anyway and will shrink your clothes
dry outside or on a balcony if possible
if not, try indoors but with cross ventialtion

as for plain washing machines
yes miele is best but they also cost a fortune
if you're a poorfag-regularfag, Bosch is the next best thing

stay away from Korean, Italian and American garbage

Everything is the same trash now, including Miele
Just buy what has the best rating on Amazon

Yeah 20 fucking years ago
Shits changed

Only for the motor, don't fall for such jewish tricks. The motor on even the most basic cheap model can easily last over 10 years, maybe you'd have to replace the brushes every 10 years but thats it.

All front-loading washing machines have about 2-3 years warranty, 5 tops if it's some really expensive model. All of them have a "planned obsolescence" component, which is the drum's aluminium "spider" that corrodes from the detergent (pic related).

Top loaders normally don't have that issue but they take up too much space because you can't put anything ontop of them. They're also impossible to find in europe.

Hi to the Miele Brand fans.
I dont want to start a war but my expiriences started to become not so funtastic.
Example a dishwasher the containments for the dishes start to oxydize (yes thats true something that has to be in water and chemicals is designed to be not so waterproof.
And yes I stopepd by the shop where i bpught it and yes I can get a new one cause the problem is a standard feature of this device.
But hey I dont want to have this discussions with a Miele.
Same with a vaccumcleaner some parts made of plastic breaks after three years ( not so heavy usage 3 times a week).
I m from Germany and Im not sooo happy with the new capitalismfriendly design of our brands.
Take a look at WMF , Miele, VW ....
Dont buy it at the moment.
They need a market shock.

To Op
No Devices with both funktions are not so brilliant.
Can you get an Samsung Washingmaschine.
thats what I bought after my Dishwasher told me that Miele is not soooo great.
And it works like I want it.
Silent good quality low energy consuption but only half of the price.

Buy a used machine from someone in their 40s the machine will last until you die. The wife of the couple in their 40s is bored and wants something new. Not that it's broken.

These are so expensive. I could get a panasonic one which will also last 40+ years

get the LG one

>aluminium "spider" that corrodes
get a whole house water filter user
