I brought a used 980 in early 2017 still runs fine and is super cool temps.
I assume the guy used it for like 2 and a half years before because he was buying a 1080 and seemed like the kinda guy that just brought the latest at all times because he looked like a insecure car guy.

I got a 970 off Ebay for dirt cheap back in 2016. It caused my computer to BSOD or have major artifacts. He didn't take the security sticker off so I was able to RMA it through EVGA and get a brand new one. I have been using it to this day without any problems.
