Yeah, I haven't read the LN but the anime's confusing right now and everyone says it's rushed. I've wanted to start reading it for a while now though so maybe I will soon

you definetly should, the LN are great but just to make an example of how much they are rushing things, they are doing one entire volume in 3 episodes, that's fucking too much too cramp inside three episodes, and they also have pretty low quality too.
If they keep it like that they will finish the first series of LN at the end of the season.
Probably they are just making this season to shut up fans but it's not like the franchise was awful, I thought it was still going strong so why they gave us this garbage?

You can't fault them for doing their job. First off the anime isn't the original source, second, adapting a book isn't as easy as it seems and if they can't adapt a Dickens' novel properly with both TV series and movies let alone a long running LN. On top of that it's hard enough to find the time to write between classes and homework and my backlog doesn't allow me to stray from the genre, so I'm never going to read another LN anytime soon.
