Until AI can convincingly act, which is impossible.

Even if the technology overcomes the uncanny valley in 20-30 years, they will not be able to afford it.

50 years.
20 years tech + 30 years political+social+lawyers changes.

Very nice, now try replicating the movements

I have seen better deepfakes in /gif/

not for a good while
people just like their celebrities

brits are unsettling even in tech demos

youtube.com/watch?v=-xL5ogM4bOo

Yea, because a bunch of overhyped manlets and roasties can "act". How was Ellen Page supposed to be a good actress? Americans are full of shit

Looks uncanny as fuck, I think it lacks subsurface scattering

Bad cloth texture always denounces digital actors for me. They look very human, still their clothes look like something out a videogame.

The most absolutely realistic "digital Human" done so far is this one - hell, Mica is more realistic than the guy making the presentation, to be honest:

what the fuck are you trying to do, dumb newfag

Nose looks fucked up

There are good actresses, you know?

what the actual fuck

What the fuck is wrong with her ear?

Lighting kills it as always.

Shitty CGI

What the heck with that teeth?

HTML is not a programming language

Non-raytrace

Actors have not been strictly necessary since at least the 1930s. However, live action costs less than animation and most people seem to prefer live action, either intrinsically or through force of habit. I would prefer it if more movies, especially science fiction, fantasy and horror, were animated. I think my wish may come true because computers will make stylized animation (3D or fake 2D) cheaper and easier to produce before they make realistic 3DCG similarly cheap.

Behold, a Slashdot migrant.

Not until sexbots can give directors better blowjobs than the actresses.

The one in OP's picture looks far more realistic.

But cheap and easy for $$$productors$$$

Give us an example, nigger.

>Most realistic virtual pornstar
Looks like an unimportant NPC out of a modern video game.

Imagine being this bad at presenting and still getting to do it, must be one big bunch of spergs developing that AI

Not him, but - Bibi Andersson, Liv Ullmann, Isabelle Huppert, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Catherine Deneuve, Susanne Lothar, Delphine Seyrig. How's that for a start and how's that to emulate for the AI?

Vaporware

Never because normies are obsessed with actors' personal lives and no matter how good a virtual actor is at acting in movies you can't replicate bullshit relationship drama or whatever.

How long until Hollywood is unnecessary? Oh wait, it already is.

Easy, just need it to have a realistic voice, good facial animation and overall realistic CGI any actor/actress can be replaced.

Yes, hardest part celebrities are almost gods in mass media.

Who? Just say Johnny Depp, bro

Attached: helper.png (612x491, 98K)

exactly this, hollywood is shit

Being an attention whore isn't hard to simulate.

>live action
Meaningless term, as those movies very rarely have any merit or integrity to begin. Disney is especially bad in this trend, because some of their remakes doesn't even feature human actors. Flaunting CGI - who needs more of that?
>Easy, just need it to have a realistic voice, good facial animation and overall realistic CGI any actor/actress can be replaced.
I think we are far from this.

That is already impossible for the best scientists on the planet.
Coming up with original thoughts, improvising, imagining the scene and emotions - that AI cannot do.

Well, once we have the ability to create realistic artificial voices and cgi humans, it's pretty trivial.

The AI just needs the script to the movie or whatever and needs to be taught when to use what emotions.

>Who? Just say Johnny Depp, bro
Come on, everyone knows Catherine Deneuve at least. Here's some more you'll recognize I believe - Gena Rowlands, Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor.

This is interesting. Also for:

>The AI just needs the script to the movie or whatever and needs to be taught when to use what emotions.
Doubt this will ever amount to anything with more merit than Suicide Squad. If it ever happens that is.

I'm not trying to argue that it's going to be able to produce good results, very convenient that you brought up Suicide Squad, that movie movie is already filled with CGI and the humans that are in it are simple characters.
See, this gives me another idea, actors could get paid to appear in movies, but wouldn't need to actually act out the whole thing. It has been done before and will be easier in the future.

Acting talent is not what got her the roles. That's how it works for most of them even the guys.

How long until no actors are necessary?
>/ic/
How long until no artists are necessary?

Eh, just watch modern movies with not very well-known actors and you're golden. Or you're at least bound to see something worthwhile. Example:
imdb.com/title/tt5362988/

>west
this
>east
kizuna

when will we learn?

When will the photo-realism meme die. How mentally limited do you have to be to still gain any interest from real world depictions.

>>>/3dcg/

>this [futuristic idea] is pretty simple
>we just need to solve [problem that we have no idea how to solve, if it is even possible]

Every time.

Attached: 1483650420054.jpg (316x470, 78K)

We do know how to solve those problems, just need more processing power.

>We can solve the energy crisis, we JUST need to get cold fusion working
>We can live off of solar, we JUST need to be able to store TWhs of power with nearly no conversion loss
>we can make VR great and widespread, we JUST need to reduce weight and price while increasing computational power
>we can solve literally all the problems in the world with ((AI)), we JUST need more processing power, even though we're at the physical limits of traditional computation

I could go on. Swear to god, the word "just" should be banned when discussing technological development.

Attached: 1495259336129.png (300x319, 152K)

AI won't just solve things, but the rest is mostly doable, just need the corporations to not be jews.

>just, just, just, just, just
>jews
You're taking the piss at this point, right?

Completely stiff hair ruins it.

>need more processing power
That's a short hand for "impossible". Take your O(2^n) algorithms and go fuck yourself.

too long probably.

I like the word just. It's just just.
It's not impossible, it's just not being done.

That is more complex than you can even imagine.

The only thing you've proven with your retarded shitposts is that you understand neither acting, nor science and technology.

Even if actors become unnecessary, it'll still be far easier to have a human actor play a part rather than hiring a team of AI programmers for the alternative. You're just replacing on expensive human employee with another. I do believe, however, that there is a good chance being a human actor will not be as lucrative a career in our AI-dominated future (because if you demand too high a price, it will in fact be easier to just program an AI) than it is now.

Then do it yourself faggot, cause oh wait there’s no fucking reason to spend hundreds of billions to make ai actors who’d most likely be uncanny valley when you could just hire a dude

Nice uncanny valley
>Once we have [blank] then [blank] will be easy
>just make an ai capable of understanding and mimicking human emotions, should be easy
Either you’re baiting or a retard. Or both.

Incel detected. Please remove yourself.

They can make anything and they make an ugly chink. What the fuck?

it just motion capture

There are some good movies too.

Can't wait for SJW to bully the programmers and designers into producing ugly ones because of muh unachievable standard.

you'll have to wait a while

more authentic JC's please, this is my fetish.

WTF are you doing newfag. You need to add target="blank" otherwise it's not gonna work

bottom left is passable

cant say much about the other three

congrats, you picked the trap

I'm sure they'd look almost exactly like OP's girl with the appropriate makeup

ask an AI to explain love

you're a fag

>How long until no actors are necessary in Hollywood?
Were they ever?
Animated movies don't need no stinking actors.

actually Hollywood needs real actors so they can molest them and sleep with them

((()))

>more authentic JC's please
what if I tell you, that they are JKs?
