When will you root your damn phone?
When will you root your damn phone?
STFU. It's already rooted.
I can't root the S9 I have, fucking OEM Lock.
When there's root available for the americuck s8
pic not related
I already did and installed Lineage.
I was an idiot and thick the wipe data as well so I lost all the nudes I got chadfishing on tinder
can't root an iShit…
but there's good news the next phone i'm getting will be any of the flagships that lineage supports.
In about a year, once warranty expires.
I won't install lineageOS, though. Motorola's stock rom is pretty good.
My phone's unrootable
Jailbreaking gives you root access, so you can infact root an iphone
there are no current untethered jailbreak releases that are good... I miss the golden days of pangu.
Why? Why would I voluntarily create additional attack surface on my non-google AOSP device? Give me one good reason please. Also hacked iptables implementations to filter ads is not a legitimate reason, you can do that without root already (plus the FOSS apps I use do not have ads.
rooting your phone is a reddit meme and you can install lineageos without root (in fact that's the default state after installation).
>Why would I voluntarily create additional attack surface on my non-google AOSP device?
When did those supposed attacks happen? You have more control that way, undoubtedly. Also, what device?
>rooting your phone is a reddit meme
What in the fuck are you talking about?
>and you can install lineageos without root (in fact that's the default state after installation)
Sure, and? You won't be able to control your kernel for a start. Not to mention all other software that requires root, especially useful Magisk modules.
Pixel 3 running seamlessupdate.app
>Magisk modules
Can you get any more redditor than this? I use magisk because of it's root, because for some reason the provided su binary bootloops my shit. Not even one module is useful or anything. Muh sound enhance placebo, muh customiza
>You won't be able to control your kernel for a start.
To do what exactly? Use some pajeet-tier hacked together custom kernel or install self-compiled kernel modules for obscure functionality no one uses?
Couldn't have crammed any more buzzwords and nonsense meme-speak in there, could you?
I have no fucking reason to except the 10 minutes of fun I get from messing around with the ROM I just installed
>muh google botnet
If you have a phone, you're already on the botnet. Installing a custom ROM with no google services means LITERALLY nothing.
t. Seething redditor
I did have it already rooted S7 Edge LineageOS + Magisk
Of course you can, you fucking moron.
>If you have a phone, you're already on the botnet.
Which one?
Cellular networks.
Why though, Knox is cool
I can't it's a flip phone.
So what is saying is basically because you are part of a network where your position is logged when signed on and where packets can be intercepted when not using SSL, everything regarding privacy is futile and you might as well be part of Google botnet?
When I can root my galaxy s7 without loosing samsung's MST
I'll root your teeth out
FUCKING STICK WITH THE STOCK OS YOU GIGANIGGER
WHY THE FUCCK WOULD YOU WANNA REMOVE IT SHEESH
same type of fag who uses linux I bet
it is a fucking lg phone which can't be rooted without some chinese spyware rooter
Yeah, fascinating.
Based
How does it feel to have a botnet in your pocket?
Because I have a shitty Chinaphone
>How does it feel to have a botnet in your pocket?
The source code is public so could you show me the parts you claim to be botnet?
How does it feel to be running a smartphone that can be persistently rootkit'd without you noticing?
>Installing a custom ROM with no google services means LITERALLY nothing
I'm sure you have sources for that.
Yeah, he's saying that - doesn't mean he's right. And seriously:
>arguing in favor of appealing to futility
>on Jow Forums
I had a G3S/G3 Beat, rooted it with some shady spyware rooter, then blew away the spyware with TWRP and Lineage 14.1.
Good ROM, would recommend, gave it to mum as her first smartphone and she really likes it.
>doesn't mean he's right
I just wanted to confirm whether he's actually retarded or if there was more to his argument I just didn't understand
But there is nothing to his argument, as you can literally forbid your phone and microG to contact Google servers - device registration toggle.
I fail to see the point of using MicroG (or even GAPPS) without any contact to Google servers. What are the supposed benefits? (No sarcasm, I honestly don't know).
MicroG requires signature spoofing to be installed, which is a security risk. All apps (F-Droid and Yalp) I tested worked perfectly fine without any Google Services implementation. What exactly does MicroG do without contact to Google servers?
when I stop being afraid that my dumb self will break the phone in the process (or when trying to actually do something using root like adding a bootloader).
Vanced is the only useful Magisk module, everything else is trash
Tell me how then you fucking nigger
I have an S6 and as far as i know theres no way to unlock the bootloader.
Looking for a new phone that supports lineage os
