>A judge in Germany ruled Dec. 20 that iPhones with a chip from Apple supplier Qorvo violate a patent by chipmaker and longtime Apple supplier Qualcomm. Apple said it planned to appeal the decision, but would pull the iPhones 7 and 8 from Apple stores in Germany while it did so.
pretty sure apple doesn't have a problem with that as people wanting to get an apple phone now have to fork out at least 1k for a device it would've been a different story when the 7 or 8 were just released
if I had one of those devices in germany, I'd request a refund original price adjusted to todays currency value
r they (u..) not screwed ? it doesn't sound like the best way of ensuring an ongoing beneficial relationship with the Applel Inc faggits, not that I find the matter anything other than mildly pleasing. Based Deutsche Richter

Doubtful. Patent litigation happens all the time. If this were in the US, where all three companies are based, I'd be more concerned.
yeah, Munich court system is an (relatively small) incestuous nest of hypocrites, from whom you can usually always find at least one to agree with your position, and unfortunately, one is all you (mostly) need. Which prob explains QCs keenness to be there in the first place. From that article, appears nothing set in stone (yet) but the key takeaway is maybe: >This is way too patentee-friendly The author sounds surprised - he maybe better look up what city the European Patent Office is actually headquartered in, again. Brings a lot money and prestige, that Office does. Would never bet on Munich not fucking you over entirely in favor of a nominal patent holder - but if QC were looking for mega-scale damages, Munich is also the wrong place entirely
