If your PC is far enough from the router that running an ethernet cable would involve genuine effort then shit speeds over wi-fi are almost guaranteed.

It's easier to install Linux with adobe stuff through Wine than it is to Hackintosh.

Wi-Fi is good for handheld devices such as phones, tablets, or certain game systems.
Wi-Fi is an acceptable trade off for portable devices that may be used on different locations such as laptops.

I bought an hp elitedesk 705 g1 desktop mini for 180USD on ebay, came with wifi-AC/BT4.2, an a10-7800B, 8GB RAM and a 2TB SSHD. I think I did better than both intel and Apple on this one m8.

I've been waiting on a good deal on whatever 8th gen intel nucs. Shit's never on sale.
Parents laptop is greatly dated so a nuc mounted on the back of the screen on a monitor arm is the best option.

Mac mini has always been a joke anyway. Even when mine was brand new in 2009 it was slow as fuck. The only way to get it to not be a total piece of dog shit was to install Windows XP or Linux on it, and the mini line hasn't gotten any better. Each refresh is just as shitty relative to any other machine of their model year.

The CUC has the wifi chip soldered onto the board, no mini PCIe slot.

There are a myriad of solutions, many of which don't include permanent alterations to the wall.
The best compromise would probably be to just run an ethernet cable along the baseboards and cover it with wiremold so it is very unobtrusive.

If you own the house, you really should just cut a hole in the wall, install an ethernet jack, and fish the cable to the router. It's more tedious than difficult, and done right you won't need to damage the wall any more than the hole for the jack.

No, their sales are declining and they can manipulate the numbers with Hackintosh systems. After all they're always talking about how there are so and so many systems running macOS. They really won't make most people running Hackintoshs buy Macs by cracking down and this way they just use them push their numbers.

They do crack down but they are not intrusive about it
For most hackintosh installs you won't have access to shit like imessage and facetime not right away atleast without tweaking because Apple has some checks to try to make sure a real Mac is using those apps
Putting extra effort into making hackintoshes not work is counter intuitive anyway. Why spend the extra money to stop hackintoshes when all your doing is losing money from all the developer revenue that your earning from people developing for iOS on a hackintosh

AMD is slow at reentering the mobile market. They still don't have any ultra low voltage parts. Their APUs are very well suited for this form factor. Hopefully they will make an entry in 2019 with 7nm.
