the only real problem I have is with the numpad using a comma instead of a dot
in linux you can comment out some stuff and be done
but on windows you need to run a program from the early 2000 and make your own kb layout.
the problem is, if you simply rebind it to the dot on the keyboard, some programs don't recognize it. you have to make your own layout

then again, I might switch to colemak on of these days

oh I forgot.
windows also uses the kb layout language as system language for some programs / settings.
there is language, region and kb layout and windows uses all of those do determine what language it might choose to display a program in.
so if you want to have an english system with german kb layout, you have to make your own layout with german keybindings but naming it english.
it's really just one big cluster fuck

I've yet to see someone unironcally use a keyboard with QWERTZ layout. I've only seen it on used bussiness-grade laptops imported from Germany.
