I've been thinkin about buying some 12*12 boards for pfsense
Are you happy with it ?

It packs a shit cellphone and a wr802n plus the battery and charge controller. Then a 600m wireless connection to the house.

What's the latency like?

Why is your setup in a dog house and not on your roof?

Unironically, can someone explain how I could do this?

Put OpenWRT on it, working really well.

Attached: wrt1200ac_2_1.jpg (500x593, 36K)

Like 130ms.

Phone set on Hotspot > wr802n Set on client > ubiquiti radio link > wr914n as an access point to the house.

Hope you have a gigabit switch for the rest of your shit

winner, winner.
how'd you know?

some cable modem/4 port switch/wi-fi 802.11n all in one device isp provided. (works well surprisingly) + 8 port Trendnet metal switch.

I use a D-Schlong DSR-250N. It's really stable, but multicast doesn't work properly.

>Hotspot

get something that can usb into the phone, i have a 1+5t and the hotspot is trash compared to a usb tether

setup looks pretty comfy though, i would love to live off grid

Attached: airfiber5-gallery-pole-installation-2.jpg (476x500, 59K)

Honeypot

Ironically I'm soon going to move to airfibers in the future. This was just temporary. I've got a spot in the town 35km away I can get 1gbps from.
Shits going to be tits.

KPN Experiabox V10 supplied by my ISP. Even though it's chink zte botnet it works pretty well. I get 500 mbps on my phone just fine, and around 300 mbps upstairs on my phone.

Someone please kill me

Is the edgerouter QoS any good? I sorta need good QoS for gamen

Living the dream family

It is on his roof

Nice. I just replaced my RB2011 with a CCR because it finally gave out after 4 years.

Been running this cutie for the last couple years with ddwrt. Can't complain.

>not a CRS1
lmao listen here manlet router.

Use a Draytek Vigor 2860ac at home but it is more capable and is at least better than the provided router from my ISP.

Attached: Draytek-Vigor-2860ac.png (1000x781, 549K)

Any worthwhile non-x86 mini-PCs/SBCs I can use for a router running linux or BSD?

This lil nigga

Not a problem

t-that's cute

Attached: 1508091195813.jpg (590x700, 147K)

It's too bad the non-early-bird price on these is kind of high.

Attached: omnia 4.jpg (3264x2448, 2.24M)

Cant you just have your router in a vm
I think im gonna do it, i have a dual port nic hanging around

Attached: 4b2763e.png (409x378, 183K)

If your server and hypervisor support pci-e pass through, yeah probably. Only problem being if the server fucks off on you, you lose connection in and out.

Yes, you can.

You don't need PCIe passthrough for network stuff. You don't need to actually pass full network devices, just bridge it to the VM.

You don't even technically need multiple physical interfaces to make a router, because VLANs exist.

I wouldn't trust bridged nics. Just doesn't sound smart, and adds overhead.

Been using for a week, works very well. I'm a poorfag to get something better

Attached: 71qppfjrFEL._SY450_.jpg (420x450, 13K)

Link to that?

But bridging is how VMs typically get networking to begin with. Also most home routers have to bridge the LAN interface anyway, because they need to bridge the ethernet and Wifi.

Probably because of all the cigarette smoke damage done to your camera lens to give it that misty finish.

Use Merlin

lol not a smoker but the phone is 5+ years old.
Doesn't take pretty pictures anymore.

ugh, fuck that.
Run your modem as a transparent bridge and get a decent router.

Got the same, it's been an excellent router, holds a signal, doesn't randomly fucking reboot and is infinitely better than the shit-tier huawei garbage ones nz isps give us. pic related
What's Merlin?

Attached: filthy chinky router.jpg (1000x810, 23K)

I just you my isp provided one.I wanted to make a pfsence one but the energy usage is too high for just personal use.

>energy usage is too high
shits like these have smol celerys that use like 3W at 100% load
i bet that's the same or lower tan your isp provided shit

NSA are the good guys, CIA are the bad guys. Top level red pill!

Looks like a Qotom mini PC if anyone's interested - lots of hardware like this on Alibaba, look up "pfSense mini PC". Protectli's an American company selling similar hardware but it's more expensive generally.

Looks like an access point to me.

35$ cheap chink router. has the same cpu of edge router x. runs openwrt really good.

Attached: 1544765507250635.jpg (1728x2304, 129K)

based MT7621A's hwnat.

put padavan or openwrt on it

does it have hardware offload of NAT though?

yes.
openwrt.org/toh/hwdata/youhua/youhua_wr1200js
search "wr1200js" on aliexpress. xiaomi mi 3G is the same thing. just less eth ports and added usb3.

I got edgerouter at the 2 companies & home but I'll read and keep it in mind for next time, kind of curious the longevity.

i only had this for a month now, so yeah, i cant vouch for longevity. but its damn cheap so yeahhhh.

Yea lol, next store we get I'll throw my home edgerouter in it and get the china one for home and see how it lasts with heavy gigabit abuse. It's only like $15 less so company really wouldn't give a shit either way.

run openwrt on it. the 18.06 has some quirks. run bleeding edge (snapshots) on it. preferrably, build your own image.

>giving the chinese government direct access to your data

i posted benchmarks and shit on like sometime ago.

>not use cisco
ha-ha faggots

To be fair, it does look like a plate at first glance.

Looks like an ubiquiti AP lite/pro at first glance, desu.
