bsd is a better server os then linux for fileservers due to ZFS,and a has a faster network layer therefore better as a webserver.
However its far behind as a desktop os, excluding macos, using a bsd desktop is like using linux 10 years ago, nothing works together correctly, the desktops are default themes with shit tier configs.
Fuck BSD use ubuntu/linux-mint and do some frigging work.
All these desktop/ricer threads "Oh im so cool i have a custom conky and a theme that matches my desktop" of course their home directory is empty and they do nothing on the pc except posting in the "rate my e-penis" threads

You should keep your home directory empty, it'll save you trouble in the long run. Treat it like a user-specific /etc and save your pictures and videos and documents and shit somewhere else, somewhere not in the FHS so that the OS and application software doesn't know about it and can't dump shit all over it.
