I would barely even notice if I only had my HE500 and HD660S(or 6xx,600,etc).
Also I think it depends what kind of person you are. I'm pessimistic usually but with headphones instead of hating headphones for what they don't do I enjoy them for what they can do. Like the 6xx, yeah its bass is dog shit compared to lcd2 but I love vocals on it.

They should sound the same. I tried ones that my father had been using for years at work and when I got mine they sounded the same.
