Explain that, kitty cat...
Explain that, kitty cat
Mine is locked to false.
You set the preference system-wide in whatever file in /etc that takes precedence over manual configuration and a user.js in your profile.
Giant a you are faggots fucking.
LtR you fucking Hebrew imbred
You are using nightly build.
I'm well aware you can do that...
However, I literally just installed it and it was locked true out of the box.
My Firefox setup is already way more stripped down and secure than this shit, why should I bother using IceCat?
What... I downloaded it from the ftp directory, same as the source.
user_pref("network.allow-experiments", false);
user_pref("experiments.supported", false);
Idiot.
olev?
good times
(not op)
We started from tools->preferences
then went to about:config
then we use corporate grade configuration by touching user's config files
and now we are literally one step before modifying the code ourselves and compiling it in order to set our options.

>This, rather unstraighforwardly, does not mean Telemetry is enabled. This means that, if telemetry is enabled, we collect somewhat more information.
So that means they collect the telemetry in either case, even more of it if it's set to true. Actually fucking amazing kikery.
kek
Are you illiterate? It says setting it to true does nothing alone BUT if you also enable telemetry then this preference (which should be set to false in release version) will make Firefox collect more telemetry.
>if telemetry is enabled, we collect somewhat more information
fuck off kike
>if telemetry is enabled
>if
if conjunction
\ˈif, əf\
Definition of if
(Entry 1 of 2)
1a : in the event that
b : allowing that
c : on the assumption that
d : on condition that
if telemetry is enabled, we collect SOMEWHAT M-O-R-E information
if telemetry is NOT enabled, we collect information
Don't worry, user. Some day I will find you the cure for being retard.
why the fuck is a program running as me overriding my user's preferences with system wide preferences
Thanks for that m8
look at this shit: github.com
over 2000 lines of shit just to normalize firecuck
most of those settings break sites or disable features normies would want to use
Normies don't give a shit about privacy or security beyond the effort it takes to install a couple placebo addons...
Keep reading. It means IF telemetry is enabled (you haven't set it to false) they collect "somewhat more information". But if you set telemetry to false, it won't do anything.
Miss you mootykins
somewhat more when disabled means that they collect it FULLY when is enabled
dunno what all the meme responses are about, you just need to untick the box in the settings menu and then it will be locked to false
When turned on, they collect more telemetry if telemetry is on.
When turned off, they collect the normal amount of telemetry is telemetry is turned on
When turned on or off and telemetry is turned off, they don't collect any telemetry and the switch doesn't matter
Does anyone have difficulty reading that text?
Far smarter people than you had this argument on Old New Thing more than a decade ago:
blogs.msdn.microsoft.com
Spoiler: you lost.
yeah i can't read purple either
Get off Beta and Nightly channels, retard.
I'm on gigachad channel you dumb fuck
99.9% of that argument is specific to the INI format and Window's implementation, not some greater "user versus global permissions" argument.
Sorry, I keep forgetting autistics are stupid, and can't handle tangential discussion that supplements a whole. They need everything packaged up and religiously on-topic, or they just use it as an excuse to reject the subject.
Welcome to Jow Forums. It's why no interesting discussion or debate ever happens here. Just endless shit-flinging.
