When should I buy this book? I know my way around Python pretty well but I want to learn a language I can actually use. But I'm worried I'm going to spend $50 on this and then I won't be able to understand anything in it.

What kind of larp is this?

$53 on Amazon

I can't post the link because of the spam filter

>Not trying finding a pdf of a 31 year old book

Wow. It's real.
I'd say the exercises are worth it, but I also enjoy the writing style as it is easy to read and follow without any confusion.

I got my copy from archive.org

Kernighan still collects royalties.

Get the ebook, use pen and paper nigger

I meant pirate the ebook, IT'S 2019

Use a PDF or library. I've done both with this exact book

I’ll give you a first edition for free

Did Jow Forums meme a shit book into inflated prices?

Nice.
It wasn't nearly that much 10 years ago when I bought it, but it was still decently priced.
Why the OP doesn't go to ebay and get a used copy, I don't know.

Get off my Internets, granpaw.

A bunch of literal homosexuals in this thread.

>moving away from python to learn C

Right?
C is so hard and it's so old.
Who needs to understand how memory allocation works.
Who needs to understand how compilers optimize code.
Let some nerd do that.
I am hear to do real work.

I've been learning C/C++ as a hobby for about 5 years. I've still not produced anything useful with it, except some small embedded AVR-C projects for my Arduino.

>I've still not produced anything useful with it
Sounds like that is your problem.

Don't get that one, even though it was written by K&R, there are much better books about C now

coming from a guy who is too retarded to understand most textbooks this is a good textbook

this. 5 years? really? now that's the one true larp!

why would you waste 5 years learning something you won't use?

just download it on libgen
C is way simpler than python. Harder to master. But simpler to learn.

Learning from textbooks is bad anyway

Even if you never use C, you are way better off knowing the basics of how "low level" stuff actually works

not from me :^)

There's a PDF in the first duckduckgo search result. Might have embedded viruses, but who knows.

you learn what you use danielson
