I often have terminal opens so I just check the terminal bell, otherwise I just use Alt+Tab or Windows+Shift+h/j/k/l both cycle through windows or I the mouse over them (they rise on mouse focus).

Very clean as usual. Do you manually change all of your colour scheme and CSS everytime or is there an automation tool somewhat like pywal? Also, I tried herbstluftwm but not for long; I couldn't understand the point of frames when you could just have a predetermined window layout that saves you a few clicks.

a tweaked pywal for the terminals but i end up saving alot of the ones i like. so i have a color folder that calls the colors for my terminal and bar and switch them manually. i have folders for the wallpaper that match the colorschemes name. for the css it takes less than 5 mins to switch the colors out. for the browser css its 3 colors to switch, and the Jow Forums css its 5 colors, which are all from the pywal.
for herbst u can save a layout to a keybind by using herbstclient dump, and assign the output to a keybind. and i like using the frames as smaller workspaces inside of a workspace, because u can tile different in each one. the floating in herbst isnt bad either. ill probably never switch wm cuz im so used to this one.
padding would make the text in foobar not touch the edge of the screen on the left side.
