>Your specs (cpu and ram)
Q9550 and 12GB of 1333MHz DDR3.
>How long does it take for you to launch a paused Windows virtualbox and run Photoshop?
I don't run Windows or Photoshop or Virtualbox. All of these are garbage. I use GIMP on Debian and it launches in one second. I use QEmu for emulation and virtualization, which takes less than a second to start up since it's a simple CLI program. Boot time for the main system is 10 seconds (bootloader to user space) with PTI disabled in the kernel boot parameters. A Ubuntu VM using KVM with the default kernel parameters takes less than 10 seconds to boot.
>i should have asked for storage too though
SSD
Xeon 1505M v5
About 2 seconds for Ps CC. Illustrator takes about 5.
i3 550, 4GB
I didn't have a paused Windows virtualbox, so I just used my current Windows installation. I also don't have Photoshop, so I used MS Paint.
3 seconds.
Athlon II X3 460, 4 GB
I didn't have a paused Windows virtualbox, so I just used my current Windows installation
I also don't have Photoshop, and MS Paint will not run on my installation, so I used GIMP.
7 seconds.
this picture destroys my sides idk why
Phenom 955, 8GB
I don't use Virtualbox but about 5 seconds in VMware and another 5 for a non-bloated version of Photoshop (assuming it isn't already running in the VM and I'm using an SSD)
i5-6500 16gb of ddr4
Less than 5 seconds, probably because I run vm on 500gb 970 nvme.
