So what do you do with a 1000$ supercomputer that isn't just playing games on it?

install gentoo on it

ritsu cute

Ripping DVDs/Blu-Rays and producing fake porn

Brag about it on Jow Forums and IRC of course?
What else are highend computers For?

Literally nothing. A $100 Thinkpad does everything you could want (Aside from modern gaymes)

>$1000
>supercomputer
You play in MS Paint, I guess. Lmao $1000 is shit.

I want to help dumb ritsu build a computer and play ero games with her!

Is this the 25$ supercomputer?

Runs multiple VMs as well as part of proxmox/ceph cluster

Use VR to escape my shitty life

Ritsu baka

How many gigaflops it pushing?

With a heatsink ~6.2 Gflops and half that whiteout it.

3d animation.

You know a half-decent computer costs at least a grand right? Try tacking on a few more zeros for a supercomputer.

Personally I do tons of photo editing, I do photography as a hobby. I also use it to record and edit music, and have a handful of hypervisors doing shit in the background.

Teaching my home automation system to speak with the voice of SHODAN, Adam Jensen or Major Kusanagi.

$1,000 rig is meh tier unless you buy used or hit a jackpot during sales

Or they're poorfags pretending to be richfags making fun of poorfags.

Self-hate is rather common on Jow Forums

I edit videos occasionally but mostly encode a shit load of video that I rip myself. My physical media collection grows daily and I have to encode all my rips to ensure I don't fill my server too quickly.

But it's also more about how many things I can do simultaneously. I usually setup a VM with 6c12t, and 8GB of RAM for encoding purposes. I then use the remaining 24GB of RAM and 2c4t for light gaming (shovel Knight, hollow Knight tier, or WoW) with 20+ tabs of firefox open, and streaming music from my server. All without any slow down at all.

I've slammed over 1,200 euro into my last PC, no peripherals, and it's nothing to brag about.

case in point ladies and Jow Forumsentoomen.

my actual borderline mainframe-level Threadripper chip cost more than that

I suppose you're too autistic to understand images and facial expressions as a form of communication, sorry brainlet, I should've made myself clearer

I mostly just run benchmarks and watch my CPU activity on task manager.

why does that guy looks so weird?

You do whatever you'd on any computer except you do it faster. Want to render out a video or a 3D animation? It'll only take a few minutes instead of a literal day. Etc.

I spent that much on my computer, I trained a lot of neural networks on it for my end of college project.

i would rip old anime dvds and apply bunch of filters to make em look a bit better.

Fine. A $1000+ computer is useful for graphic design, running virtual machines, or acting as a server for medium performance needs. If all you do is web shit like Facebook the only benefit you get is never having to worry about the site running slow from all of their botnet garbage running on it. You're better off with a sub $500 machine if that's all you are going to use it for.

I said shit was stupid because OP thought $1000 was something crazy and super fast enough to compare it to ACTUAL supercomputers.
$1000 is medium tier at best.

Keep in mind that software for any of the above purposes is built for proprietary shit, so add 100+ for a windows license. Hope you already have monitors, mouse and keyboard too.

Dude I answered you, photo editing huge files takes a lot of ram and processing, plus tons of storage space.

thanks guys
