l assume there's a few engineering students on here, so I'm actually curious. Do you guys actually think your degree is difficult or are you at the stage where you realise anyone could do it?
AND THEN THE MAST CELLS COME OUT MAN THAT'S A TRICKY ONE
Christopher Turner
Anyone can do and learn anything, given enough motivation. You sound like a pretentious dick desu famalam. But I'm sure you'll grow out of that phase eventually, there is hope for everyone.

get back to your studies, circut board nerd. Don't you have some microcontrollers to make LEDs on and off?
>Anyone can do and learn anything, given enough motivation. >engineering student knowing anything about difficulty >mfw
More difficult than med school. But it’s only 4 years for bachelors degree versus however longer it it for med school and the entry requirements are easier. Source: Canadian mech e PhD candidate

are you a girl? you sound like a girl. yes, any one can get a degree for anything. if i got an applied math degree anyone can do it. that said, med degrees are piss easy. it's all rote memorization. t. mathematician
Levi Hernandez
Women do study medicine so don’t dare say a medical degree is harder because the more females in your major the easier it is. EE is one of those few majors that is 99% male.
Mason Sanders
If anyone can do it why am I being paid so much? They should just be able to pick someone off the street and teach everything in an afternoon right?
Gabriel Jones
I was gonna do a med major but jumped to applied math because medicine kinda sucks. It's all routine memorization. If you can retain a few facts for a semester then cram for you MCAT you'll be a doctor. Math & the related fields are more difficult in some circumstances because you must produce correct answers through many difficult steps from an abscure prompt.
Get back to me when medicine is anything more than multiple choice questions and a power complex
John Evans
I guess it's the difference between doing something that is hard and doing something that has been made hard to do to limit people that can claim success. A flow chart does a better job at being a doctor than a doctor. Drug development has devolved into lets just mix up some chemicals compounds and then test it until we see if it does anything interesting to sample.
Soon Dr Pajeet will see me from my 5G phone and get me my medication
While USA doctors cost too much and want more pay
Only way is to have Medicare for all and you will keep your job but I won't let liberals pay doctors more when I can have Dr. Aziz and Pajeet do it cheaper
>mathematician knowing shit about med school Hey fag, while youre at it, go do some lebesgue integrals in banach space while I save someone's life.
>le wemmunz How can you derive such a fantastic conclusion? Wow, engineers are more retarded than I thought
Easton Bennett
Enjoy dealing with the sick/old, stupid, etc - basically the worst people to be around. You did 8 years of post secondary to be around sick or ill people. Sounds like hell.
Thomas Fisher
>Medicare for all says the kid who obviously knows fuck all about Medicare protip: you don't want it
Jacob Jenkins
I bet this guy gets some sick pleasure out of helping the ill.
Joseph Kelly
I'm a medfag and literal brainlets with somewhat above average memorisation skills are EVERYWHERE in mt school. Medicine is piss easy as long as you are not lazy.
this, doctors don't get into medicine to help people, they do it to suck then dry
Dominic Richardson
no doctors actually care about their patients. these guys get it. A lot of these people in med school have some sort of savior complex or are greedy assholes in it for the money and nothing else.
fuck off vampire, don't you have some old ladies to attend to, give false hope to and find new ways to fuck over?
Juan White
Are you mad because it’s true? Pick any hard major and you will see it’s dominated by men I’m talking 90%+. Lots of women in med or premed. Definitely not as rigorous.
Levi Hughes
Get off your high horese, physics guy. I am terribly sorry for you user. To be honest, SOME solid state physics get a good paying job, other specializations either stay cucked in academia, or go to programming field which is even more cucked. Imagine sharing workspace with some filthy autist from Jow Forums, after studying so much of quantum mechanics and sheit
Lincoln Morales
"Premed" isn't a major at any legitimate university.
Gabriel Moore
>English. Math, Physics, Ex, Electrical Engineering all score significantly higher in the biological sciences than Biology, Pre-med, Chemistry, and Microbiology OH NO NO NOOO
Of course it’s not. That’s why medical degrees are easier to obtain than a PhD in EE. You can get any degree you want and apply to medical school.
Jackson Garcia
Any degree is as hard as you want it to be. Even an English major can be confined to study all the time if he wants good grades. As the old adage goes, you get out what you put in.
Joshua Davis
Everyone falling for OPs bait which raises the question of OP isn't right after all?
Josiah Young
I work at AMD and have worked on Zen 2 MCM packages, unironically.
Jackson Murphy
I'd say some of the arts can be harder to get good grades than science/engineering. In the latter you can at usually prove you are objectively right, in the former a professor with shitty opinions can just arbitrarily ruin you.
Aaron Sullivan
The trick is to determine the professor's own perspectives and write your papers accordingly. You can still form your own opinions, but you write to pander to the professors own views. Granted, everything still has to be well-written, correctly sourced, properly argued, etc.
Eli Miller
countries with socialized health care spend less on health care per-capita.

Universal health care enables laziness and apathy toward one's own health.
>Dude, I can eat whatever I want, it's fine, universal health care anyway, I don't have to fork out money for medical bills for whatever will happen >Dude, I can drink as much I want, if I get sick I'll get onto that universal health care, I won't have to fork out money for whatever illness I might get >Dude, I can do and consume whatever I want without self-responsibility, whatever happens I'll just get onto that universal health care and sort it out there
Christopher Johnson
>replaced by AI in the near future >muh weighted funkshuns I don't think you could replace a doctor by AI. Do you even know how much complicated it is to diagnose a single disease? And btw your local pharmacist can give you OTC meds without a doctor, and that's where AI might be useful
Noah Phillips
I'd argue the opposite >dude, I better stay healthy or the death panels are going to put me down vs >I can drink as much as I want, my kids will have to foot my medical debt burden after I die anyway so who gives a shit.
William Jones
IBM already has a shitload of research into the medical field. The last few papers I read showed their computer programs vastly out performing real doctors in actual diagnosis of disease.
Eli Davis
Everything you said still happens in the American system to though. And somehow America still has way higher rates of obesity than pretty much every country with national healthcare. However, it ends up costing 10x more to prevent and treat in the US as it does everywhere else because the system has to run as a business instead of a social service.
Josiah Sullivan
>t, guy who thinks neural networks are the only form of AI You overestimate the ability of doctors and underestimate the power of big data. Muh weighted functions can make connections that a doctor will never be able to.
Gabriel Robinson
Obesity is horrible in the US because food manufacturers like Kraft and General Mills put sugar and corn starch in everything.
Brody Bennett
We eat the same food in Canada and have far lower obesity. Maybe a national healthcare system might give the government an incentive to improve nutrition.
Christopher Bell
>big data Oh yeah big data, ML, AI, cloud, automation, IOT... lmao this fucking 'data scientist' meme. Hey user make me a beautiful graph of how much of a faggot you are.
David Nguyen
That's because they're either ignorant or stupid. I'd argue ignorant, because their health system is ran by bigpharma who keep people sick in order to sell medicine, and their nutrition and dieting paradigm is manipulated by various food business who release flawed studies in order to 'prove' how 'healthy' and 'good' their food is so that people will continue to buy it.
Also mexicans and blacks spike the obesity rates. They're on average more obese than other demographic groups in America.
Grayson Murphy
As the other user said, ML is already outperforming doctors in many areas. Short of surgery, there wont be a need for doctors. Just a nurse and a terminal.
Lucas Adams
Patients and family want an expert they can talk to, not a robot. For that reason alone doctors won't be going away even if they aren't required to perform a surgery or fill out a prescription.
Adrian Lee
>Patients and family want an expert they can talk to, not a robot. Yeah, they will talk to an RN backed by a supercomputer with a model trained on every aspect of medicine with petabytes of data at its disposal.
Hudson Mitchell
Are you serious? You say this as a med student? An easy fucking degree with just memorization. He has a much harder degree than you and getting perfect grades is a big achievement
Ethan Morgan
Most countries have legislation which restricts what operations can be performed without a medical doctor. You can bet the doctor lobby would fight every attempt to roll those back.
Thomas Peterson
Doctors will never be replaced by machines. If anything, it will just be doctors controlling these machines.
James Lee
And you can bet everyone else will revolt when IBM et al. show off their capabilities and perfect AOC on diagnoses and people start losing loved ones from preventable issues that the AI could have predicted. They already let pajeets operate on them. I’m sure they’ll be fine with it.
Its not a doctors or AI argument, its that doctors will use AI to do their job better. They already buy a variety of absurdly expensive machines and this will just be another one.
Henry Johnson
Maybe med degree is easier but holy fuck would i be scared to actually become an "important" doctor, fuck up once and either you kill someone or they will treat you like shit for the rest for your life
Thomas Myers
It will reach a point where the paradigm of what a doctor is will shift. They’ll end up being an human-machine interface and more of an operator than what we consider a doctor currently. There will still be highly skilled specialists and researchers. But GPs, for example, will turn into a nurse with a terminal.
Tyler Bell
This is conjecture and speculation and doesn't hold any water, so to speak (not the guy you're talking to btw)
Ryan Hughes
lmao
Hudson James
You are probably getting used to it. Literally start to treat people as mechanisms, thats what surgeons sometimes do.
Grayson Powell
>new technology that vastly out performs an old workforce doesn’t disrupt current job structures Lmfao
Jacob Butler
>>/sci/ Also, I can't be the only Med student who actually likes biology, right guys?
Logan Garcia
have you ever heard of investment banking? you are nothing.
Jayden Allen
I didn't say that, of course it will, but it won't reduce employment by any considerable amount.
Ethan Torres
>be generational math prodigy and high iq son of elite investment banking family >outperform all the top funds in the world as a novice >secured over 100 million in funds from elite families >internally fund multibillion dollar energy investments >energy las vegas where governments come to pay for unregulated experiment facility with experimental 'soft' free energy >most important human being ever

Adrian Gomez
>investment banking t. professional gambling
Jayden James
Keep dreaming math fag. We all know what you really do. Don't you just love pushing pen in some abstract N dimensional vector space? Meanwhile I dissect an abdomen and get your year's worth of salary in 10 mins tops. >investment banking No one gives a rats ass to these muh secret club old farts. Illuminati is dead. One burst of bubble and your whole life is literally on streets. I'd take any engineer seriously over you 'elite' fucks any fucking day.

Lol. Who gives a shit about University? Falling for bait this weak posted by an idiot straight out of high school who will be studying English next year.

Medicine has no higher mathematics in it therefore it should really be taught in a trade school.
I mean what you even do? Just memorize fuckloads of trivia? Where's the science and intellect in that?
Easton Wood
>implying any decent bankers dont make much more every downturn and make a killing during depressions thats cute
Gavin Wright
and yet you had to come here to validate your choices, wew

medicine is just hard to get into because everyone and their mother wants an easy paycheck checking out rashes on peoples asses and there's supposedly some "responsibility" but when someone dies they'll just be like "well, it wasn't meant to be, LOL KAY BB"
Eli Hughes
Lol no, chem eng here. It's possible easy, you just study 2 month of the year during exams and that is that.
Mason Russell
>Beeing this new
Dominic Brown
>entire foundation as a productive member of society depends on the achievements of other greater men like who actually make the medicines that you corruptly pedal for exorbitant mark ups >still has the nerve to consider engineers lesser >doesn't kill self you must be a coward too

>medicine is just hard to get into because everyone and their mother wants an easy paycheck checking out rashes on peoples asses and there's supposedly some "responsibility" but when someone dies they'll just be like "well, it wasn't meant to be, LOL KAY BB"
Medical field in general is what I would call "degenerate marked" it's intentionally overregulated by big-pharma owned politicians to create maximal possible barrier to entry.
Aiden Clark
lol that's why i got a degree in math, 300k starting and any job i want
Jack Adams
The hardest course is actually playing a musical instrument at conservatory. See the movie Whiplash - not far from the truth. You have to practice 8 hours a day. Dont tell me engineers or medfags study 8 hours a day.
When I was choosing what to major I had no idea the banks are hiring mathematicians and pay them obscene paychecks. I thought there were just the economiscs and people of jewish heritage.
Connor Rogers
Med is harder for pure memory. I mean you have to remember way more things. In electronic you learn about abstract things you cant see or touch. If you have low IQ / poot abstract thinking, you wont succeed no matter how much you study.
I always found biology/chemistry way more easier to understand. Id like to see you solve some differential equasions or nyquist transformations....
>I mean what you even do? Just memorize fuckloads of trivia? Where's the science and intellect in that?
Its perhaps trivia if you consider any knowledge beyond higher math trivial, but there is a LOT of it. Lets see how you memorize all 650 muscles in the human body, mate, its not that easy and takes hard work and dedication.
Justin Parker
Why ever memorize anything if you can simply memorize where to look it up?
>know the abstract concepts >know where to look for trivia >know everything
Nathan Ramirez
>Lets see how you memorize all 650 muscles in the human body There isn't even a rational reason to do this kind of shit anymore. It would be like IT guy memorizing every MAC address in the building.
