IPS is so fucking shit on most monitors, a lot of manufacturers cheap out and don't include an ATW polarizer to cut the glow.

There's IPS panels with decent (1600:1 static) contrast ratio on the iMac and the Surface Studio, meanwhile the shit from Dell, Acer and Asus barely crack 300:1 thanks to shitty IPS glow.

You're comparing high end phones with low end laptops. Shit phones still have 720p and lower screens, and higher end laptops all have 1080p+ screens.
