Holy shit is this real. My laptop has a 256gb hd on it, and I have a 500gb NAS drive for movies and pizza, my hold computer has a 128gb drive in it.
For $45 I can back up everything i have and all the operating systems on something the size of a penny? That is amazing, are these good for archive storage and storage of ((sensitive)) encrypted pics?
This is a scam. Do not buy it. You will recieve a 4 or 8 or 16 gig card with the firmware fucked to report as 1TB, and as soon as you put more than whatever the actual capacity is on the card, your data will be corrupt.
Aiden Rogers
hey now this is g, no actual advice here
Mason Garcia
I bet chinktops ship with these as a replacement for a hdd/ssd
Lincoln Reyes
There are no 1TB microSDs yet, only fake ones.
Camden Roberts
SD cards are slow as shit compared to a SSDs, HDs or NASes.
Jonathan Ortiz
why does amazon sell them then
Cooper Reyes
...
Isaac Jenkins
write speeds are up to 80mb's on the best sd cards, mostly problem weak shit memory controllers. Basic technology is same as ssd.
Bentley Carter
Because anyone can make an amazon listing, even a chink that sells fake shit.
Thomas Garcia
LMFAO
Nicholas Bell
just read the comments once you reach certain threshold(real gb amount of sd card) its starts overwriting old data
Kevin Bennett
>just read the comments once you reach certain threshold(real gb amount of sd card) its starts overwriting old data why would amazon do that
Anthony Nguyen
...
Carter Jackson
so what is the point then of amazon if scammers are all over there
Blake Robinson

i can't wait for you people to get old. yall are going to be worse than regular non-techie old people so gullible.
Connor Moore
>what is the point of if scammers are all over there
Michael Mitchell
if i buy something from amazon.com i expect to be able to return it or for it not to be an outright scam
Amazon does not. A & A Retailers LLC does, using Amazon's marketplace platform. If it gets reported enough, Amazon will remove it, and if enough of A & A's listing are reported they might get banned.
Eli King
Amazon has listings from third-party sellers. You can get a lot of shady shit from there, like 100000 mAh power banks or bootleg consoles full of pirated ROMs.
Bentley Taylor
It's a scam you fucking retards
It only DISPLAYS as X.
If the fucking military can't get chips with specs like that, why the fuck do you think some chinese shitheads are able to sell these at DISCOUNT online with shitloads in stock? If you're dumb enough to buy one of these, you're either an illiterate grandpa or deserve to have your money funding The Great Leap Forward
Angel Sullivan
retarded logic
>16gb is $6 >32gb is $9
If we extrapolate
>64gb is $14 >128gb is $21 >256gb is $32 >512gb is $45 >1tb is $80
I hail from the regular csg threads on this board and as many others in this thread have pointed out this is extremely likely to be a scam, probably involving manipulated displayed storage capacity.
If you bought this piece of shit, run h2testw or a comparable utility right when you receive that drive and then immediately dispute with eGoy.

Banned in the USA.
Chase Bell
no it's on his NAS
Nicholas Nguyen
>500gb nas for pizza I sure hope it's properly secured. Nothing less than airgapping will do in this era.
Aaron Perez
>I sure hope it's properly secured. Nothing less than airgapping will do in this era. where do you keep yours
Indeed. Better have it on a network that's physically disconnected from the internet during normal operation.
But noooo, it's probably just 24/7 sitting behind a default NAT configuration provided by some cheap chinkshit router.
Blake Mitchell
Totally scam, you fucking retard. Try to fill the whole SD card and you will see..
0.043$/GB is way too cheap.
Jack Nguyen
Scams aside, does anyone have much long-term experience with µSD cards and their reliability? Apart from performance, would there be any downside to using them as primary hard drive?
Charles Young
>would there be any downside to using them as primary hard drive? Yes, the abysmal transfer rates.
Samuel Perry
OP here, here is an example of the steamy illicit pictures I have on my computer that I need a 1024gb microSD to store, mods pls dont ban me
>downside to using them as primary hard drive? An OS is constantly writing to and from a hard drive, sd cards are not meant for as many write and rewrite cycles as a real hd, it will wear out
Leo Collins
It might be real, but you can enjoy 40MB/s read and write speeds with it.
Jackson Perez
>Apart from performance, would there be any downside to using them as primary hard drive? Death in less than 6 months. Abysmal performance affecting everything you do. Even if the 40MB/s speeds here are limited by the USB bus, the non-sequential speeds are absolute murder.
>sd cards as primary hard drive? The thing you're looking for is called eMMC. Great for cheap low-power laptops and such. Been using them ever since the first ones appeared in consumer laptops. Performance is obviously slower than SSD but they've been more reliable than early SSDs were.
Cameron Gray
512 GB is not $45. If you see ones for that price they'll be much smaller ones hacked to show a false size.
Elijah Wood
Micro SD card NAS when?
Adrian Clark
you could make one now
Ian Campbell
No real problem doing that right now. Install and boot Linux off a microSD, run any network filesystem or file server daemon on it.
Running just the OS of a RAID-type NAS off an USB stick isn't even that rare.
Connor Sanchez
>he doesn’t know
Sebastian Wilson
yes, actually, i have.
Jose Thompson
>yes, actually, i have. sicko
