IMO the root of the problem in this thread is just the hardcore objectivists in general. These people don’t realize that their own bread and butter isn’t very scientific at all. Harman curve doesn’t have enough research behind it to make it reality. The fact that hardcore objectivists insinuate you can make any headphone sound like any other headphone using EQ is pretty ridiculous too. You’ll never be able to replicate the imaging and soundstage of a HD800 on a HD600, simple as that. There are simply some things about headphones that we don’t know how to measure yet.

I ordered the sony mdr xb950n1 headphones yesterday cuz they were on sale for like 100$.

Are those decent? I read that some ppl have complained about the bass and how it overpowers the mids and highs but I'll fix it with an EQ .

These will be my first headphones cuz I always liked in ear models more, but I think its time I actually wanna start using real headphones.
