Guy spends 30 years doing papers and studying and inventing raytracing and making it work

comes out in a WW2 game with female soilders so no one cares about it.

they should really put metro exodus into the focus instead of bf

he said pewdiepie but didn't say subscribe.

nivida dropped.

bf5 only costs 30usd for a cdkey and anthum costs 40usd for a key atm.

its cool you can get them for free but honestly I would pick anthem over bf5 if you get a 2060/2070 and can only pick one battlefield is dated as fuck gameplay wise.

they announced 2060/2070 get to pick one of bf5 or anthem to be free

they announced 2080/2080ti get both anthem and bf5 for free. its nice I guess but idknow.

The entire point of raytracing is that it's easy to implement and you have to make a million work arounds for edge cases where post process shading breaks

>inventing raytracing

the guy nvidia hired actually did event raytracing thou.

he invented it in the early 90s for toystory and shit with steve jobs then nvidia hired him

IRL thou he probably did shit all work on RTX and they just token hired him and he just worked on his own shit in his office and doesn't give a shit about GPUs.

>John Whitted
Did not invent ray tracing.

>Simple recursive implementations of ray tracing are still occasionally referred to as Whitted-style ray tracing

he invented raytracing you fucking retard.

its not some thing that naturally happens in physics or life you fuck wit its a technique to simulate that. he didn't "invent light" but he invented raytracing. he worked with SGI to make machines to power toystory and movies in the early 90s you retard.

Does raytracing make the cards produce less heat, reduce noise, lifespan, reliability and make them cheaper? If not then who cares.

hahah wtf is that question ?

it makes the graphics better?
If the graphics are better then you need less to get what you can currently.

>he invented it in the early 90s for toystory and shit with steve jobs then nvidia hired him
Toy Story was not raytraced. Keep talking out if your ass though. It's kind of funny.

you are just a dumb cunt that thinks raytracing is some physical properties of life and not a technique a guy invented and also invented a software to do it years and years ago.

you literally was like "invented raytracing" like you think its always existed because you have no idea what it is. im a architect raytracing was 100% invented by him.

Toy Story was not raytraced. The first Pixar movie to use raytracing A Bug's Life, and it was only for some jars with seeds in them. They didn't even raytrace the whole frame. Keep talking though this is highly amusing.

how old is toy story again?

>toy story
>real time

>bf5 is dated
Yeah, what’s with all the old tanks and shit in that game?

please be bait

>he invented it in the early 90s for toystory
lamo
i was doing raytracing in 91/92 before toystory you fag

>it makes the graphics better?
please dont put quesiton marks at the end like that you have to be more assertive with the retards from /v/

i invented toy story

REEEEEEEmales in muh vidya!

>The first ray tracing algorithm used for rendering was presented by Arthur Appel in 1968.
