5G doesn't really exist. It's still in Evolution stage.
Some phone companies, on their Android models, have used a 5Ge badge to imply they have 5G working but the e is for Evolution, an undefined term that they say means "moving towards 5G".
Rather like the HD apellation for the ZuneHD that was just marketing decoration.
There is no 5G deployment anywhere yet.

I'd still be using my Galaxy S5 if the motherboard didn't fuck off and develop a short that made it run warm all the time and drained the battery horribly and this is on top of a random issue where the phone screen doesn't come on from sleep and the phone force reboots and this comes for a refurb unit as my first ones modem died, I loved it but fuck was it unreliable for me

There are other reasons to use Lineage on top of having updated android but there is something nice about having a device still updated when the SoC manufacturer has decided to infamously abandon developing new versions

As said, the S5's stock software is a really outdated version of Android (KitKat I think), it also has the horrible TouchWiz UI on top of it.
Lineage 15.1 is basically stock Oreo, it's much nicer.
