As I understand it, yes they're very much worth it.

Is there a way to re-enable TiledShot command in Unreal Engine 3 games that apparently have it disabled?
If i bind the command to a key(the console itself is disabled and can't be enabled) to take the screenshot, it looks like the engine does take the screenshot(game freezes for 0.5 seconds) and creates the relative "Screenshots" folder in the game settings folder, but the folder is empty as if the screenshot is not saved.

Does any Calibre user has a working recipe for pocket (read it later)?

windows used to show little previews of what's in the folder but now it isn't
how do I fix?

Lets say there is a youtube livestream happening for 2 hours already.

Is it possible for me to save those 2 hours of footage in a video file WHILE the livestream is still in progress?

I don't want to simply record my screen, I want to save what have been broadcasted already before the owner of the channel deletes the VOD.

Attached: yt.png (300x168, 2K)

I don't know if youtube-dl is capable of this, but that's generally the go-to tool for downloading shit.

>There are extra pins on PSU side, you just don't notice on non-fully modular PSUs.
so you have to connect all 28 pins on the psu with the "mb" marks right?

Install Gentoo

No
youtube-dl dosent magically create the video,it just downloads it.

>2) How do you get the File Explorer Taskbar stack to always go vertically, rather than waiting until you've opened 50 instances of it to switch to that.
regedit:
KEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Taskband
add dword
NumThumbnails 1
(or however many you want open before it stacks vertically.)

No idea about the desktop.ini - likely they just wanted to discourage folks from having system files visible, thus there maybe no way.

I found a way guys, Seems like it's possible with Streamlink (livestream successor).
github.com/rg3/youtube-dl/issues/11618

Basically you use this line to save the livestream FROM THE START even if it is still in progress:
streamlink --hls-live-edge 99999 --hls-segment-threads 5 -o "[FILE NAME].ts" [URL] best

Another alternative:
streamlink --hls-live-restart -o "[FILE NAME].ts" [URL] best

The guy who found out this method said it's recommended to save in .ts format to avoid issues and you convert the file later on, I tried saving in .mp4 directly and it worked.
I saved a 3 hour youtube livestream in 5 minutes.

changing to kde.

plasma meta or plasma desktop?

first time with linux, distro is gentoo

is doing a bachelors in IT worth it, my math skills are too brainlet for comp sci

What kind of course work is a IT bachelors?

it has two majors you can choose, digital media (web dev, digital content) or systems development (a bit of programming, network security).

i'm just wondering if its worth doing that or just get a job

>8 bad sectors

Is my HDD about to die?

Attached: Screenshot from 2019-01-07 17-16-58.png (1608x779, 165K)

8 reallocated sectors, going bad but still holding there.
Worry when the current pending sector count starts increasing.

Type doesn't matter.

Apart from the bad sectors, it looks like a healthy disk. Make sure your backups work.

Thanks. I bought a new SSD and I was reluctant on using this spare with my files

IT is a management degree

I use VLC for music playback but my audio playback stops whenever I open a folder in the playlist that hasn't been opened yet. It's driving me nuts.
Is there a workaround for this, and if there isn't, what's a good alternative music player?

Web dev is garbage, and "systems" sounds sketchy as well. Are you really too slow for computer science?

please explain, the degree i'm looking at doesn't seem oriented towards management

Don't fucking start on gentoo, jesus christ man. Start on a normal distro unless you wanna hate your life and come back to Jow Forums salty to bitch at us about how terrible linux is. Don't listen to retarded memes, try Ubuntu (or KDE Neon, an Ubuntu spinoff by KDE developers) or Fedora, these are both well supported, not going anywhere and perfectly tweakable in any way you want to. Source: using Ubuntu for kernel development.

I am retarded beyond middleschool maths because i missed years of HS, 'systems' is supposed to get you a job doing devops, sys admin or software dev

Ugh, it's not that PSUs have more pins, it's that fully modular PSUs must use non-standard arrangement to prevent people jamming things in the wrong places or mixing cable brands.
example modders-inc.com/power-supply-pinout-repository/2/
But yes, plug it in.

CS is front end software programming(Baby math)
CE is back end hardware programming(Hard math)
IT is a management degree. You would be the manager over the CS and CE workers. You wouldnt get your hands dirty with front or back end, you would be going after project management certs.

If I try and reinstall windows, can I keep all of my data?

What do I type in the command line in Windows 10 to delete something from my Downloads folder?

I'm not in the US if this makes any difference, just looking at the course material it doesn't seem catered to that at all, it mostly seems to be sysadmin shit and programming desu. I am probably still too shit to do baby math without a lot of prior study as I said I am a brainlet. But assuming that was what the result of the course is, what is IT management like and will it make me want to kill myself?

What is my processors architecture?
Intel® Core™ i7-2720QM CPU @ 2.20GHz × 8

x86-64. In other words, 64 bit.

maybe

Ashkenazi.

Foobar2k

Which one do I pick?

Attached: Screenshot from 2019-01-07 17-57-19.png (479x53, 7K)

amd64

If you want to.
Just select custom>Primary partition.
This will reinstall windows and move all your files to a folder in C:/ called windows.old.

amd64 = x64.
i386 = x86, also known as x32/32bit.

is that only on the boot drive? will the data on my HDD be affected if I do that?

Only in the boot drive if you select your boot drive, you can always unplug your other drives if this makes you feel at ease though.
Windows loves to fuck stuff up so why risk it? only leave your OS/boot drive connected when you reinstall.

Really dumb question but is there such a thing as a software/tech agent? Kinda like a literary agent for books or an acting agent for movies, someone who will get you gigs or contacts to sell your work/yourself. I desperately need someone like that, I've got my software I need to shill to the right people.

For "regular" desktop computers and laptops:
amd64 = x86-64 = x64 = 64bit
i386 = x86 = x32 = 32bit

arm and arm64 processors are used with mobile devices (phones, tablets) and embedded systems. The rest are niche.

are soundbars memes?
my dad (literal boomer) wants good speakers, we live in a cheap, small apartment that has rules on being too loud etc. he recently bought a $350 4k 55" smart TV as well
>headphones are a no
>multiple speakers for surround sound would have to be wireless and able to connect to the tv and play everything the tv does
>if smart TVs can connect to speakers wirelessly to play audio through them that would work
>budget is under $100
>I can order online or go to the nearest store, but I didn't want them to buy some tech illiterate garbage, but I don't know anything about speakers since I just listen to everything with headphones if I want better audio
>he doesn't have great hearing, but we also can't have it too loud to get complaints, he likes surround sound, watches a lot of news, movies and sports

its too late i already setup if im going to install another OS im gonna go back to windows on win7 not another freesource autismo

>$100
Check for Genius SP-HF1250B or used Sony SS-MB150H for $80+-.

That's pretty unusual in tech. Most people would go into consulting.

x32 is not 32 bit

I'm having a hard time for understanding the use of super() in python. Let's say I have the "First" class with two parameters (don't know how are they called) and a "Second" class which inherits the constructor of the "First" class. When I try to give those parameters to "Second" using:
def __init__(self):
super().__init__()

It throws an error when I create the instance:

a=Second(insert parameters of First here)

I really don't understand why it doesn't work

>headphones are a no
>has shit hearing
>housing has rules against loudness
>wants surround sound
NIgga this is the perfect situation for headphones
Sennheiser should have some wireless one around $100 that are good quality for price

What is consulting?

How I can edit a flash file or make one with songs and sources outside the flash in the browser's window just like in this one? What program do I use?

Attached: YumeTrainLoop.png (620x552, 179K)

what do I type in the terminal to put debian on my usb?

>freesource autismo
Yeah, no shit, you went for gentoo. It's a major pain in the ass to install stuff there, you gotta tinker with everything and compile shit by hand, it's really not something you'd want as your primary OS for everyday use. Distros with actual binary packages are a breeze to set up and use, you get your software store (like on mobile) with a ton of available programs plus an option to add extra repositories painlessly. I can have a fully updated, functional Ubuntu installed with all the extra packages I need to do work in like 30 minutes. Fuck knows how long that'd take on gentoo..

>x32 is a new ABI being actively worked on. It is basically 32-bit code running in x86_64 (x64) mode on the CPU so that it has access to the additional 8 registers to boost program speed while remaining memory efficient via the use of 32-bit pointers.

It's technically still 32 bit, and sometimes the term is used for the architecture itself, but yeah, there's a bit more behind it.

I wear headphones personally, but I would need to buy two pairs, and they would both need to connect to the TV instead of each individual device. top of that he prefers speakers. I'll ask him I guess but when it comes to which would be preferable the headphones have half the budget to work with. I feel like headphones will still be a no, since he's a boomer and probably doesn't want to wear headphones.

Anyone know how I can set up these speakers to connect to my laptop or phone?

> and they would both need to connect to the TV instead of each individual device
They connect via RCA(Red White) in addition they have seperate audio from the tv.
So he could have it at 100% on his headphines while whoever else is in the house can have it at 10% independent of the headphones.

are they powered?

No

Close-up shot of those cables please

A consultant is someone a business asks for software solutions and recommendations for tech related stuff at a company. They're normally only concerned with high-level organization and planning of projects, they likely don't write any code themselves.

Attached: 9DD65D77-B85D-4F3E-9F60-0F4DA0FA5C0D.jpg (4032x3024, 2.3M)

You need some power amplifier then that connects between your phone / laptop to your speakers. The cable will be some 3.5mm-to-RCA or 1/8"-to-1/4".
Then just use normal speaker wire from the amp to your speakers.

he bought a TV that has one place to plug in RCA (I wanted to convince him into the better, cheaper TV but it was 50" instead of 55", and he wanted a big TV)
besides I don't know much when it comes to TVs and stuff but isn't that purely for audio coming in? either way it would be far more convenient to use speakers or a soundbar, and well, it might go the same way as trying to convince him to get the better TV
boomers, ykno?
still, if you find a decent, wireless pair of headphones, that the TV can play everything through instead of connecting to individual devices, and play through two of them at the same time, then I'll give him the option between that or the soundbar/speakers, but he's stubborn that way

Thanks, what are the odds that I can go to a consultant, shill them my software and they license my stuff to their clients?

>that the TV can play everything through instead of connecting to individual devices, and play through two of them at the same time
Im not getting what you're meaning.
If the tv has an output RCA then anything that goes in the input slots would then be output to the rca output.
He could watch tv then switch to a chromcast device and the headphones will gather the audio. EVERYTHING that is input to the tv will repeat to the heaphones
Look at any RF sennheisers that match your price

This isn't a stupid question, actually this is a really hard question and probably way beyond the level of Jow Forums. But just in case.. I even tried different forums, even on r*eddit and no one knows how to do it.
Here it goes, does anyone knows how to overcome the memory overclock limit on a gpu which is 1000Mhz on any overclocking software? Msi Afterburner, Evga Precision etc. All are limited to 1000Mhz+ max which equals to 1250Mhz (10Gbps) on my GTX 1060 GDDR5X. So yeah, I know these Micron chips are rated at 11Gbps, but this is a software limitation, not a hardware one. W1zzard from tpu oced the mem to 1440Mhz on his review of the 1060GDDR5X, but I don't a clue on what kind of software did he use. Or maybe he did flash the bios of the card with those clocks?

what is better? fstab or automount?

Attached: confused.jpg (500x500, 109K)

>Or maybe he did flash the bios of the card with those clocks?
Highly doubt that unless the manufacturers provided the firmware for him.
It might have been a hardware overclock, removing / adding a resistor / cap in a specific spot.

I'm about to buy an Oculus Rift but the headset only. Can I still use it for porn and vidya or are those camera trackers essential?

>Can I still use it for porn

Im about to get an asus a320m-k mobo to use with a ryzen 2400g. by this point should I expect the bios to be updated to be compatible with 2nd gen ryzen?

Mate I've never used any VR device so I really have no clue

Dont, get a MSI B450 Tomahawk instead.

Get a HTC Vive instead.
The extra trackers are for games like VRChat if you want extra body tracking.

But the sensors are obligatory for both headsets.

I asked in the last thread but it already hit the bump limit.

I'm going to move across the country soon and I need to move my pc.

I was thinking mailing my tower and that will cost probably $100.
I have a 4TB harddrive filled with stuff.
I might be able to get it down to 2TB and maybe compress it to other ssds and have 1TB and then buy another 1TB ssd and shove it in the tower.

Is there a better way to safely move this stuff?

Don't drive? Take the drives out and bring them with you.

VR Chat is not a game.
Also the reason I prefer buying headset only is because it's much cheaper than the bundle and I don't want to waste money on something I MIGHT like. So no Vive.

Take it with you? It's a tiny fucking disk. You act like the delivery people give a fuck about your package.

youtube.com/watch?v=1Aix8NuU8pE

Stuff that might need body tracking wont work as well then, so anything that doesn't rely in teleportation movement and has to track your body to work properly which is pretty much fucking everything.

Mainly thinking about Subnautica and Talos and other normal games with VR support

pmount

0%. The idea is to become the consultant and hawk your solution around.

Installed components will absolutely get rekt by shipping. Bring them on your person instead.

Subnautica doesnt have VR support, the devs hacked it in but its fucked up.
You can use it with a VR headset but will be pretty much the same than looking at a screen, also the menus are fucked up that appear outside your FOV, this was never fixed.

Not sure about Talos VR since i have never tried it.

Ya subscribed to the beta version of Subnautica?

Seeing the game in 360° is all I care about
I'll probably buy the rift bundle then just in case

If I don't see an option for wifi band on my android tablet does that mean it only supports 2.4ghz?

Trying to troubleshoot why my battery drain is so much worse on a new router

Talos is one of the few games that gave me motion sickness even from playing on a regular screen, can't imagine playing that in VR. Not sure why but something about the game would make me violently ill for hours even after I stopped if I played it for too long, and I'd just have to lie in bed until it subsided feeling like shit. Tweaking some settings helped a bit but never to the extent that I felt entirely comfortable playing it for long periods

should I get some taco bell?

Yes

Gross. BK 20 nuggets = $2. McDonalds McChicken , McDouble, Large Drink = $3. $5 total.

trips...can't argue with that

no

Sheeit, well thanks anyway user

PC game tearing happens horrifying at 30fps, even with vsync.

At 60fps stable tearing can be pretty much eliminated with vsync, but not 30.

MY monitor is a cheap 60hz HP IPS, any idea why 30fps tear like a motherfucker?

Lads, I'm sorry to be ignorant, but please help me out.

I download .flacs from Deezer, they get downloaded here:
>~/Programs/SMLoadr/DOWNLOADS/ArtistName/AlbumName/SongName.flac

I need a bash script that will do this:

>iterate through the ~/Programs/SMLoadr/DOWNLOADS folder and it's subfolders
>for each and every .flac file found, use ffmpeg to convert it to .opus
>output the .opus file into another directory ~/encodedSongs

I'm not any sort of shell wizard so I've spent hours trying to get this to work and can't figure it out

DVI, HDMI, VGA?

HDMI

6GB 1060 if it matters.

I am playing Oblivion from disc (not Steam). The framerate is capped at 60. My monitor goes up to 75. Is the game capping the framerate? My GPU? OS?
