ive been using it for several years now and ive noticed its become very shitty. i like reading about conspiracy theories and searching for weird shit on the internet and over the past year and a half the results have been getting worse and worse. its basically impossible to find results outside of the NPC web. it was pretty good for awhile but its even worse than google now in terms of sterilized search results.

I dont think it would be possible to break up google search as two companies using the same technology really wouldnt be competition

I think it would be possible to break up youtube by simply dividing the content between companies, but then people would be bothered having to search multiple sites to find content

Android would be able to be broken up, all competition to iOS and Android have failed (Blackberry, Symbian, Palm, etc) so you would need to allow multiple companies to use the Android OS, but then there would be the problem of splintering/forking of technologies which would create incompatibilities between the different companies developing Android.

So really its almost impossible to break up Google

They have integrated their services into so many products and it would take a megascandal, like fucking pizzagate being true but with Google employees or some shit, for normies to boycott them.
They are far too convenient to use. That's the problem. It's not like Internet Explorer, where the default/standard performance is easily overtaken by competitors.
Remove all the creepy Spyware and ideological issues with Google, and their products for the most part are pretty nice and snappy. All of the alternatives either are on par in terms of that raw performance, or a downgrade.
I use startpage, searx, and duckduckgo, but sometimes I find myself having to resort to Google for a specific search I'm having trouble with on the other platforms because I know I'll find it on Google, and I always do.
Normies are too lazy to switch to something with inferior performance for ideological reasons if they aren't flat-out outraged, and attempts to convince them they should be outraged have failed thus far.

They need to be broken the fuck up like microsoft was way back when.

I think you guys are talking about Alphabet, not necessarily google. Look at their Wikipedia page (alphabet comapny) of acquisitions. It’s kinda crazy how quickly they devoured companies and the variety of the types of company they acquired. In 2013 they acquired a company every week.

You break all the pieces apart and then monitor them for several years for any collusion. Alphabet vanishes and each piece stands on it's own again. As far as the Google core, you break it into three companies all starting with the same data and structure, but they have to evolve and compete from there in terms of ads and other functions. So you have Google Baby 1, 2, and 3. You can use any of them to search the same shit, the only difference being how they implement ads into search results. Watch the least cluttered and ad-focused one become everyone's go to engine.

(This is just me throwing ideas around, to illustrate that options exists for breaking it up. Not saying my ideas are perfect or best.)
