This is uncommon for restricted key systems. We use a BiLock system and I was told when signing for my master key if I lost them the cost to the organisation would be 100k. Most staff didn't have masters though, just access to a single area which could be rekeyed without redoing the whole building.

Most secure keys will be rejected duplication by a locksmith unless a holographic verification tag is provided.

yes it is possible. you can even just buy a blank key and file it down

just find a blank of the model of key you had and cut it down to match your missing key. alternatively you can use a non-blank key as long as none of the grooves are deeper than the original's

Yes, it can be done, I did it with my mailbox key which is some nonstandard piece of shit that no locksmith would copy. Threw the key in the scanner, traced it made a DXF, then I copied the key profile in OpenSCAD and substracted the extruded DXF from it. I reccommend you print from something hard like PLA or ABS. PETG is too flexible to work in a metal lock, it deforms too much.

Tell them you lost them somewhere where they cant be found/recovered by anyone. Like when you were swimming in a lake/sea and forgot you had them on you. No risk of recovery, no security risk.

You can definitely make a duplicate from a photo. There was a service that did exactly that not too long ago.

You could go the whole 9, 3d print one using a photo as a starting point, hop on ebay and buy a key duplicator + some blanks, and finally use your 3d printed key to cut the new blank to size.

A good locksmith can duplicate it from a photo.
But if you look suspicious and you find a moralfag locksmith, he might even call the police on you, even if it's not illegal.

Trusting something this flimsy is clearly a security risk.

Have you tried lockpicking? There are tons of guides and YouTube tutorials on how to do it.

yes, it's possible. but that's a specialist's job. you need a blank key with the right profile and then it's just a matter of cutting/filing down to the right depths.
