Dell finally ditched the nosecam. The last reason for getting anything else is now invalid.

13 is just a little too small
15 is just a little too big

Wrong

>14nm

>Gloss screen
No.

Specced to the same level it costs as much as a Macbook Pro but doesn't run OSX.

But you can actually install linux on it, unlike macbooks with the t2 chip

Don't you just need to turn off the secure boot? (presumably same you'd need to do on the Dell?)

That allows to boot into linux on a mac, but not necessarily install it. Google it

much better without the memebezel

that's why 14" thinkpads exist

Have they fixed the coil whine yet? That was the real issue.

>botnet now has better picture quality
It was fun while it lasted

nice try

There's literally nothing this laptop can do that an x200 can't and for $1500 less

Not cause your eyes to get cancer.

>getting anything made by dell
Lmao

Yeah let me ignore the

>coil whine
>killer wifi cutting out
>fans being noisy/defective
>unit gets hot due to thermals
>shitty battery life due to UHD touch screen

>sleep issues – battery drain during sleep, laptop turns on while set to sleep, laptop does not come back from sleep – no real solutions as far as I know

>to be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to appreciate 16:9

>coil whine
Fixed in the previous generation
>killer wifi cutting out
can be easily replaced
>fans being noisy/defective
not a common issue
>unit gets hot due to thermals
do a repaste
>shitty battery life due to UHD touch screen
get the fhd version then, it also has antiglare

>sleep issues – battery drain during sleep, laptop turns on while set to sleep, laptop does not come back from sleep – no real solutions as far as I know
Disable instantgo, you get the normal sleep back

>Fixed in the previous generation
Nope still complaints on the 9370

>can be easily replaced
nope, unit isn't replaceable in the 9370, assume it's the same in 9380

>not a common issue
>XPS 9370 Fan Noise
>Fan noise on XPS 13 9370
>Quieting your Dell XPS 13's Loud Fan
>New XPS 13 9370 Fan Making Very Loud, High-Pitched
>Dell XPS 13 9370 fan rattling
>Dell XPS 13 (9370) fan noise

>do a repaste
On a brand new laptop top kek

Still no Windows Hello.

Oh and also, still thick chin instead of 16:10.

>Still no Windows Hello.
Last years model had it with IR camera

Due to the webcam change it's a fingerprint scanner on the power buttons, which is windows hello

>blocks ur path

Face unlock on a laptop > finger print reading on a laptop

it's still windows hello

also kinda subjective, id rather finger as my hand goes to the KB anyway

Usually it's in an awkward spot on the keyboard though, it's not the worst but i'm thinking most comfy here.

Then it's up to Linux devs to patch their NVMe drivers, since Windows 10 can installed without big issues.

If only the screens weren't so bad

>250 cd/m2 "IPS" with 60% sRGB coverage

okay, but what's the fucking point if it still has the chin

That's because the T2 chip recognizes Microsoft's signature by design, so people can use bootcamp with the proper configuration. There's no signs Apple will accept Linux signatures (like Microsoft did for corporate-backed distros)

Why do PC makers force you to choose between disgusting potato DPI and absurd overkill 9000dpi 4k?

Again, only Apple gets this stuff right.

>buying a fucking laptop in 2019
Use a desktop at home and a phone anywhere else.
What the fuck Jow Forums?

I suspect this is oversight on Apple's part, they surely have pro/dev users who will be pissed if they can't dual-boot Linux.

what's up with these no-fan laptops?
are they pushing these because smartphone market is going down?
>look bigger screen to body ratio XD

Because they can choose between the TV panels and Smartphone panels.

The fabs don't tailor their manufactoring to the niche needs.,

you mean 300nits QHD IPS or 500 nits pseudo HDR IPS
>tfw 300 nits is actually shit
fuck lenovo ;_;

Devs will normally just spin up a Linux VM (or connect to a remote one) if they need one. It's quicker and saves on a lot of annoying issues with sharing between the two.

Killer fixed their drivers last I checked

1080p on a 15" is honestly perfect. It even needs 125% scaling to be usable.

I'd rather a chunky laptop with a huge battery.

And here's why that's a good thing
