Would it be possible to make a unisex universal connector where both ends are exactly the same? And how would it look like

yes, duh. both have pins and holes and are rotationally symmetrical.

So why aren't we using that?

I have one right here

Because retards would daisy-chain 10 cables and complain that shit doesn't work

Because, using your example of USB
>one end provides power
>other end absorbs it
>tards plug both ends into things that provide power
>goes to shop to buy two new computers afterward
>grumbles about computers being hard
>probably even gets together with other tards to bring class action

you can do that with usb-c now

>serial
>parallel
>firewire

I'd joke and say that you can do just that with USB-A, take out the shielding and they'd mate just fine onto each other.

PD prevents it from shitting itself too hard, and there's never been any issue with hooking up two computers together with USB, so long as it goes 5v to 5v and gnd to gnd, the cable won't turn into a fucking anime energy ball or something.

But one of them still has a hole and the other is protruded? Shouldn't a true unisex connector be flat to flat?

Flat is justice

Sega did it.

I figured it out bros

>sexless
I'd say they're dual sex, like snails.
(also, late to the party: )

No, for it is an abomination.

literally the first reply.
both pins and holes.
rotationally symmetrical by 180 degrees.

Hermaphrodite connectors it is then

All connectors are unisex, however all electricity flows in one direction.

I've got a male usb connector that identifies itself as female, but it just cannot operate that way.
What should I do?

Send it to pray the gay away camp

Doesn't look unisex to me

The oldest connector in existence is just that.

>It doesn't reimplement Ethernet to negotiate power and current level.
How pathetic.

who says it doesn't? It can do anything you want.
