didnt adoredtv sayed 2080 performance for 300$? this shit will cost atleast 600, since its direct replacement for vega64 and competes with 2080, so amd only need to sell it 50-100$ cheaper than 2080...

>adoredtv

$200-$300 cheaper than a 2080

holy fuck it was getting 85-120 fps at 4k

that's not the rx3080

It will be way cheaper than a 2080 though, since it doesn't have the gimmicks.

This isn't Navi

I NEED non rtx 4k capable gpus, if amd delivers ill drop 3k on an all amd 4k build

desu ray tracing is the future standart

>$799
Yikes!

Guess i will be getting at 2060 for 350 fuck amd and fuck adored

lmao
its the same as a 2080 and has less features
bravo amd

Massive kek $699
Massive kek 35% faster in BFV just barely puts it above a 1080ti
As an AyyMD fan I am depressed about this "release"
At least they have products unlike the incel and novideo keynote, but this really isn't the "1080 performance for $300" I was hoping for.
That said:
>I don't care about chromebooks
>I don't care about streaming
>I don't care about "thin and light" notebooks
>I don't care about xbox
etc etc etc

I know it isn't over yet so maybe there will be Ryzen Zen2 / 3000 series announcements but I I doubt it

They talked about threadripper and epyc though. so that's good I guess. But nothing that I can/would buy.

That said this does beat a 2080/1080ti for $699. And comes with "free games" that they literally can't even get people to play for free (they gave everyone in the audience a copy of "The Division 2" for example)

And costs way less

muh cheap 7nm die

>As an AyyMD fan I am depressed about this "release"
Your nose is showing

699 + VAT(21%) = 850 EUROS, i can buy right now 2080 for 750, so this is even shittier deal than nvidia shitty deal

Arguably a cheaper 2080 but with better features like 16 Gb HMB2

>didnt adoredtv sayed 2080 performance for 300$
More like 2080 performance for 2080 money
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHH AYYYYMDBROOOOS

>REBRANDED VEGA FOR $699.99

Attached: REBRAND.jpg (400x300, 14K)

its more expensive where you see its cheaper????

The moral of the story is don't fall for made up shit on Youtube

It was, but in a controlled test in DMC 5, which is like probably gonna perform just as good as a 1080ti/2080.
A 2080 is $699 and this Radeon VII is also $699.
A 1080ti I have seen "new" for $599 currently, and like $499 on sales and shit

you forgot this is the amd price. add 10-20€ at least for the custom designs with up to 100€ for the sapphire nitro version which is the only one that can cool the chip without sounding like a starting airplane.

Shut up Mr. Goldberg.

RYZEN

AyyyMD needs the primetime CES keynote to unveil products

Meanwhile Nvidia and Intel do their own press events when they're releasing new products and in Nvidia's case they just piggyback off smaller events or gaming conventions to release their products

AMD BTFO

$699

RTX 2080 MSRP is actually $799.
But yeah, barely better deal.

It has twice amount of memory, 3 free games, native Free Sync support and better Vulkan/Opencl performance.

You dont need the memory in gaming.

Depends, at 4k 8GB might possibly throttle you in a game or two, so 16GB is "future-proofed" for shit ports.

>1080 ti performance
>more expensive than a 1080 ti

amd enjoys being the bottom bitch. their only change to gain ground is in the mid market. this card would have killed novidia if it cost 400.

Attached: farmer cat.gif (480x270, 2.03M)

you dont need videoram in gaming?
did you just say that?

Read the first reply to get a hint of what I actually meant and how normal non-mentally impaired people understood it.

So that AMD keynote felt a lot like they weren't ready.

The Ryzen VII is gonna retail for the same as the current store price of the 2080 with a negligible performance difference, and their promise of it being the ultimate GPU for creative workloads might be legit based on 16GB HBM but it sounds like a shitty contest against nVidia.

We basically know nothing about Ryzen 3000 except that an engineering sample of a half-populated chip can beat a 9900k in Cinebench. That DOESN'T CONFLICT with the rumors (Ryzen 7 beating 9900k would be pretty crazy, even in Cinebench; and would still leave room for a fully-populated Ryzen 9) but it also doesn't really confirm anything either.

TL;DR: AMD still loses in GPUs and we don't know anything concrete about their mainstream CPUs.

>Futureproofing with a GPU that barely outperforms my 2 year old 1080Ti

lol okay

By futureproofing i meant for about 2 years at best :^) That's enough for publishers to shit out atleast 8 different games with absolutely disgusting optimization.

t: i also bought 1080ti back in 2017, no reason to upgrade it seems for atleast 3 more years.

Thank gods, they gave up on the blower design.
This thing might actually be useable.

this will also make nvidia not care about dropping prices for the 10 series cards. no one wins, the mid range is dead since the 2060 is pretty much a 1070 ti

When AMD's keynote is trumpeting a ONE FRAME ADVANTAGE in BFV and Far Cry 5 at 4k against and at the same price as the 3rd from top card (RTX Titan, 2080Ti, 2080) nVidia produces, why would they even consider lowering prices?

This is why I come here. I love my RTX 2080 for the low low cost of 599. 699. 799 and 1500.
You dumb dumb fucks.

I'm seriously considering getting VII.
It would be a sidegrade from my NGreedia 1080Ti, but fuck them.
I've heard 1080Tis are quite rare these days, so I should get a good price for it.
At least I'll get rid of that terrible control panel.

do you think this is because of lack of tech or are the chips reaching their silicone limits and this is the highest graphics levels we can reach at an "affordable" range? even enthusiast have limits.

Attached: 1539621072094.gif (500x375, 371K)

you can easily sell it for 700 to 800 on ebay but would you sell it to me for 500? heheh

>$699.99

LMAO I got a 1080ti for less more than a year ago.
So this is the power of AMD. I was considering getting the new GPU for my second desktop that has a freesync monitor and a 1070 but at this rate they can go fuck themselves.

Do you do a lot of content creation stuff? It seems like that's a bit of a waste unless you're taking advantage of the only area the VII seems to have on it's side. But I mean, sure, if you want an upgrade and you're weighing up the 2080. I really doubt they'll be able to sell at $699, wouldn't be surprised to see price drops fairly early in the lifecycle.

>Burning my money like a retard just to fit in with the AMD drones

And this board loves to act superior to the /v/ retards.

I think the current AMD GPU tech is ... not bad, but not competitive. AMD's division head getting poached by Intel may be a blessing in disguise - not for this generation, but maybe next.

We'll never know what nVidia's capable of until someone actually catches up to them - they're just leaking out tiny incremental upgrades for the sake of keeping people spending, they aren't pushing the envelope.

No, but I hate NVidia.
Yeah, I know I'll be getting freesync back with a driver update and all, but I'm not sure it won't just fry my panel because.
My brother already has an offer at 500€bucks.
He's debating it right now.

What makes it sexy to me is the 3 fans reference design.
I had vega64 before and it was hell on earth for my ears.
This thing should be relatively quiet.

>burning money like a retard because of brand loyalty
And you fucks act like you can do no wrong.

Exactly.
But hey, I'll be getting 5 more GB of memories, so it's not all burned up.

you mean AMD BTFO by themselves.

Let us all step back and take a moment to appreciate the fact that Intel wants to enter the GPU market and their choice for the person to bring them into the mainstream market was RAJA FUCKING KADURI

I mean... I'm sure they have a reason. I'm not sure WHAT the reason could be. But ... they have a reason right? They didn't just pick a name out of a box right? RIGHT!?

>going to be about the same fucking price as the 2080, on a superior node, with the performance of a fucking 3 year old 1080 Ti
>300W
But hey, at least you get to burn cash and stick it to 'em. Fucking retard.
>implying that much VRAM will be used

>AMD's division head getting poached by Intel

I will never stop laughing at this. You can just imagine the meeting room at Intel HQ where this all went down

>So with our move to begin production toward a mainstream GPU we've been looking at our options and we've been quite keen on the fool tanking AMDs GPU division

Seriously, this was during a time where Raja was bungling everything and managed to slide AMD back so hard they are putting out their top cards performing around the level of generation old, not even top end nvidia releases (while at the same time the other half of the company was being lead by Lisa Su into obliterating Intel). This guy is just about the last human being on Earth I would hire to lead my GPU division.

Yeah, I'll do.
Stay mad.

I think the single most painful part of the keynote was the Forza demo.

"Look at our brand-new tech! Between our latest GPU and latest CPU, we can ALMOST run Forza Horizon 4 at 1080p ultra 144fps. But not quite. And beyond 1080p? Fuck that shit."

don't. i had an r9 390 for 2 years and it was the absolute worst experience i've ever had with pc gaming. shitty crimson drivers that used to crash all the time in GTA 5, having to roll back drivers to catalyst to get fucking autodesk to work etc.

>implying anyone would or should get mad at a retard who'll burn cash for something as inane as MUH BRAND LOYALTY
Stay retarded.

Nah, I had 7970, rx480x2 and vega, and they were fine, driver wise. For my usage, at least.
In fact, I miss them.
The only thing that made me buy NoVideo was Vega's noise level. But it looks like they fixed that.

well to be fair, intel has something AMD will lsck fir the foreseeable future, a shit ton of money, which meant raja was unble to fulfill his "vision"

Are you kidding?
It was a half-populated chip. And it was 8 core, 16 thread.
That means 16c32t is inevitable. Fact.
Secondly, it beat a 9900k in Cinebench drawing 50w-ish less system power (130+w vs 180+w) That means a 75w cpu vs a 125w cpu, and AMD's 75w won. Fact.
So you're really looking at a Ryzen 5 (3600ish?) beating a 9900k. Whch is simply phenomenal.
And, as you said, it's an engineering sample. Product launches in 6months or so, so the frequencies will be even higher by then. If you think this confirms nothing, you're really blind.

Regarding VII, $699 seems pricy but again, 16GB HBM. I'm sure an 8GB version for $599 will come, and will perform almost the same as a 2080 still.
Navi's midrange "gtx 1080 performance for $300" will still come, just not right now.

>Navi's midrange "gtx 1080 performance for $300" will still come, just not right now.
>"J...JUST WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
God you megacorpshills are retarded on every side.

Look, like I said, this still lines up with the rumors. THAT SAID, it's clearly way too early for release. I would love nothing more than the Ryzen 9 3850A being real. I WANT that CPU. But we just don't know yet.

based and redpilled

>I'm sure an 8GB version for $599 will come
Wouldn't bet on it.
I guess this is a 4 stacks design and a 2 stack would just cut bandwidth by half vs the 16GB version.
Seeing how memory overclocking benefited V64 immensely, I'm willing to bet a 8GB version would just be data thirsty.
HBM2 only comes in 4GB packages minimum.
