Only showing 8 core, no mention of a 16 core like the rumors stated.

Further, Q2 or Q3. Not happening until spring/summer.

Feels good to be an Intel chad with a 9900K

Socket AM4 will see a single package for mainstream Zen2 parts. IT holds a single logic die, and the IO die also known as the Bridge Chip.
There is no dual die 16 core Zen2 part coming to AM4.

AMD SHILLS BTFO

Later, notice the space for 2nd chiplet and overall power.

Chiplet design and arrangement of the package makes it obvious there is a dual chiplet variant.

lmao, barely ANY space, and AMD already said the 9900k they were comparing the 8c/16t CPU to were BOTH using similar high end air cooling.

So if they want a 12c/24t or 16c/32t, they'll need MUCH more cooling.

Far more likely would be a GPU chiplet in that free space, it would be a VERY tight fit to fit another core chiplet.

Attached: cpu44.jpg (2254x966, 1.02M)

>no ryzen 3000
Threads that didn't age well

It would barely fit AND the heat would be retarded. It would require liquid cooling for any sort of high clocks.

just kys

Lmao, just admit adored was wrong.

That image proves there's enough space, yes.

'see, i was right about chiplets' - Adored's next video lauding his leaks

they anounced ryzen 3000 and gave us a preview of an early sample beating the 9900k while using 33% less power. and it didnt even have finalized clocks yet.

AND they showed the fucking chiplet design with the IO die.

As adored said, there is nothing stopping amd from putting 2 chiplets on one ccx. even two chiplets with half the chip defective can be put to use.

even if it doesnt beat intel in performance, just the ability to utilize ALL chips from the wafer is fantastic from a business perspective.

and as adored said, they would probably not disclose details of the cpus themself. just show a demo. which they did.

you must be fucking retarded if you think they where going to launch the 3xxx cpus today as everyone on this forum and everyone else have said that it was ONLY going to be ANNOUNCED.

If Zen can do eight cores at 65w, they can clearly just turn the fucking thing down for a 16c.

>no ryzen 3000
>no navi
>radeon VII match with rtx 2080
>699 shekels
Well, will wait till summer lmao.

Then it'll still be bested by intel in single core performance.

And it'll have twice the cores. Your point?

> from putting 2 chiplets on one ccx
>ccx
Don't try to use terms you don't understand, reddit. The fucking package is not a CCX.

thanks Timmy

There's clearly enough space.

this

Attached: 1544732884229.jpg (638x629, 44K)

blah blah blah

that was the projected r5 3600

You can even see the C4 balls for the 2nd chiplet.

>no ryzen 3000
Delete your thread subhuman indian kike.

Why do people shill for some youtube wanker

they literally demostrated ryzen 3000 prototype

So it's just more of the same then.

Single core performance is still the most important aspect for gaming, especially high FPS gaming.

>not seeing the huge space for another 8 core cpu die

>they'll need MUCH more cooling.

why? current cpus dont get much hotter with more cores.

My 2950x and my 1600x bot run on the same fractal AIO cooler and have almoast the same temps.

And its not a tight fit when high precision machines make the cpus. its enough space .

So, engineering sample ryzen 3000 8 core got 2557 cinebencht multithread

can someone extrapolate the clock speed from that? I think that high score for ryzen 2000 8 core is like 2050

>Demonstrated

More like held up a non-working shell and speed out promised numbers in a single benchmark (and no single core, whoops guess Intel still whipping their ass on IPC)

>i9 on a creme of the crop silicon
>a fucking ES
>chiplets, and room for one more full CCX
>bingbus pulls 170W at stock clocks
>a shit-tier 7nm silicon pulls 130
>SAME AMOUNT OF CORES

>There's clearly enough space.
there are clearly marks of the second chiplet die right fucking there.
133W 8c/16t ES sample isn't very promising tho, would loved to see ~110-120W tops. let's hope that things will change for the better

AMD is short for another massive disappointment

>2557
wasn't it 2057?
also lines up with anandtech's article

>muh gayms

They're trying to rewrite history now, every thread they're denying their shit talking about 12 and 16 core versions.

I planned to change only GPU in this year.
Will wait till ddr5 to change everything else.

what did you expected from a prototype?
beating 9900k
using less power
a fucking prototype

let's wait for summer and real reviews, when CPUs will come out, shall we?

So is the 12 cores 5GHz chip coming or not? The 16 core chip was said to come out way later even in the leaks so I don't care.

>engineering sample ryzen 3000 8 core got 2557 cinebencht multithread
THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING

HMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Are you stupid? Epyc 2 literally puts two chiplets right next to each other already, dumbfuck.

A Shipley was missing though.

>expect the worst for their gpu
>its even worse

that fucking gtx 11xx series better be true.

Attached: 3456.jpg (238x250, 6K)

133 was total system power and the clocks are not finalized so they probably had to up the voltage.

With a very obvious place left on the package for a second core die.

Attached: 1528277581392.jpg (1072x650, 126K)

One of Jim's leaks said that there was no IO die for Ryzen 3000, so he speculated in later videos with a design without IO die but with one or two chiplets.

>4.4GHz
lol how about 4.8GHz all core?

That there is the APU segment tho.

Nope, 8 core

This thread didn't age well.

retard, 12c and 16c will be coming

adoredtv more like hatedtv lmao

Well Raja once claimed that they have up to 5 year work cycles on a GPU, so I guess this one is Rajas farewell gift to the AMD user.

Then I go hibernating again.

>If we take a look at our average system idle power in our own reviews which is around 55W, this would make the Intel CPU around 125W, whereas the AMD CPU would be around 75W.
bottom of the barrel, sandbagged ES sample of 3600 confirmed
anandtech.com/show/13829/amd-ryzen-3rd-generation-zen-2-pcie-4-eight-core

>I literally have no idea what IPC is
>I literally have no idea what speed binning is
(lol

Anandtech has speculated that the chip itself draws about 75W.. Some portion of that is the I/O die, so adding another chiplet wouldn't double the power draw. I think 125W would be reasonable and is perfectly in line with TSMC's specifications. Additionally, this is early silicon that barely works, so the power draw shown won't be what the final product draws. So AMD may not actually have much trouble at all hitting boost clocks on air cooling.

I wouldn't be so sure about that
