DDR5 when

AMD or Intel build, tell me whats wrong and whcih is better please.

Attached: Which is better.jpg (2535x1397, 449K)

AMD Keynote was a disaster. Damn.

Intel because it's cheaper and will be more powerful. Unless you're doing work with your PC or whatever AMD users do.

Still no RTX 2060 mentioned? It's a good card.

Is CAS 15 DDR4 worth the extra 100 bucks? I'm thinking no.

Why does Nvidia's Freesync mode cause flickering and artifacts on the same monitors that work fine with AMD's implementation?

A $100 premium sounds more like CAS14 3200mhz. If you're on Ryzen and you want another 10fps on a CPU heavy game then that's up to you.

Is CAS 16 terrible then?

get a 470/480/570/580 off ebay instead of a new card. there are so many of them out there and cheap because mining has died down. you can get one for like 120$

I mean amd cards, not the old nvidia 400-500 series

I need some advice
I'm only intending to game on this computer. Fortnite, tf2, and maybe even the new Doom and Black Ops 4.
Well maybe watching porn on it too, but gaming is primary.

I bought these things from a guy off of craigslist for $50.
CPU: i5 4570 (1150 socket)
RAM: 8gb ddr3 1600mhz
2x120 mm led fans

I have a micro atx circa 2006 case that was in my grandma's closet and 600 watt power supply already.
I intend to heavily modify the case to mount more fans by drilling a shit load of ugly holes. I don't care about looks.

1.Is it a good idea to get a really cheap motherboard off of ebay for $10-$15 from a Lenovo, HP or Dell, or should I spend $50-$60 on a newer after market brand Mobo? I can possibly just drill holes in the side of the case to mount an HP or Dell motherboard. I don't give a shit about aesthetics. How important is a motherboard?

2. Should I get a more "futureproof" graphics card like a GTX 1060 3gb? Or should I go the cheap route and get a GTX 660 2 gb? How important is a more new graphics card?

3. i5 4570 benchmark is 7128
If I got a GTX 1060 3gb, would the cpu bottleneck that card?

Jesus christ user, if you are this poor try to do something more constructive with your life

3200MHz CAS15 or 3000MHz CAS16 usually is your best compromise if you can't afford to min-max.

AMD wins again!

Is the MSI armor Mk 2 okay for an rx580?

Anything particularly wrong with buying founders edition gpu’s?

Is room temp that warm that you need more than 3 case fans?

>cpu and gpu
ur fine

Attached: random-ass forum post.png (796x288, 58K)

I see no one ever mentions or considers 2070, are they bad for their price/consumption/something else? They're at just about the limit of what I'm willing to shell out for a new card and I can't see anything wrong with their performance, though I've been under a stone for quite a while and may be missing something.
I'm on R9 290 now.

Depends
>10 series
It's fine as long as you are not paying more for it than the cheapest non-blower cards and you are aware of how loud it is
>20 series
It's fine as long as you aren't paying more for it than the one of the mid range EVGA cards.
FE 20 series cards have a better binned chip which overclocks slightly better and it's kind of complicated to figure out which 3rd party cards dont have the shittier chip in them

Should I get one of these for a budget backup/gaming build or is there a better integrated graphics CPU available?

Attached: AMD-Ryzen-5-2400G.jpg (640x430, 24K)

Why do you need a backup gaming pc?

Redpill me on AIOs

Not a "backup gaming PC" specifically, but a backup computer that I can game on if needs be.

Is it true that 250GB is not really enough for an SSD in a gaming build these days, even if paired with a 2TB HDD?

just get a decent laptop then, that way its not only backup, but portable

They offer easy access to excellent cooling performance and easy airflow management but the pump will die eventually, unlike a heatsink which you only need to replace the fan on every 5-10 years.
EVGA and Corsair ones come with 5 year warranty at least.

I'd rather just make my own for less money.

I mean if thats how you wanna do it, maybe I'm biased since I travel for a living

Take out the thermal paste, you're not gonna use it.

Is the 8400 no longer a viable budget option?

Read the op but is 580 really enough to max out 1080p assuming everything else is not bottlenecking?Or would vega 56 keep me maxing out for a few years?

>buy a 1070Ti because I don't want to wait for Navi and we don't know anything about it
>Nvidia is now supporting Freesync
Nice, that was my main concern with an Nvidia card. This is huge

Depends on why you're asking
If you already have one and are asking if its performance is still fine, then it's fine.
If you're looking to buy one then it's fine as long as you get it cheaper than a 2600

I live with my grandparents and they are always cold
My room is 79 degrees right now

Wow thanks for the info

Except for I/O and muh overclocking, do motherboards really matter? Like, at all?

Attached: 1540773834346.jpg (572x621, 104K)

Will 11xx series be a thing, or should I pull the trigger on a 580? For gaymen, 1080p, not waiting for a 2050 at $250.

So I just build this and already the CPU is getting pretty hot. Is this just probably caused by improperly applied thermal paste? I moved the thermal paste a bit since I never put in a heat sink before.

Or could it be the fan? The fan works when I turn on the PC.

this is the fan I used:

Attached: cap.jpg (658x521, 75K)

Doesn’t matter at all if you just want to plug your shit in and forget about it. Never buy a chinkshit motherboard from somewhere like aliexpress though

Speccy is poo tier, it’s probably reporting the wrong temps. Install hwinfo

Yes, if you get one with an insufficient VRM setup for what you're putting in it you can get VRM thermal throttling which will reduce performance.
Also standard reliability and warranty vendor based shit

No decent vrm would overheat with stock voltages

This, mobos do not matter at stock settings as long as it has the features you want.

oh... so I guess it's OK, then?

thanks for the help user.

>CES was a let down
>biggest announcement is that nvidia will release a buggy driver for some freesync monitors
>ryzen 3 confirmed bulldozer 2.0
>radeon vii will be vega frontier 2.0

The i9 9900K will on low end z370 boards.
Also I haven't seen it tested but i bet those heatsinkless Asus b450 boards would struggle with a 2700X

>CPU even cooler than a goddamn SSD
>with a $30 air cooler
holy shit big difference from my low profile cooler 40C idle

I just bought a Ryzen 7 2700x off ebay for $45, it says its brand new, and unused. This is such a good deal it seems unreal!? These normally go for like $300, did i just get scammed? Or have any of you anons gotten amazing deals like this. I was reluctant to buy it bc its so cheap its unreal.

The guy i bought it from jut now has more, so if anyone needs one or wants to flip it later check him out.

>44.99 for a Ryzen 7 2700x

Attached: 337.gif (497x501, 133K)

Possibly, but if you’re buying a high end cpu you probably wouldn’t cheap out on a motherboard. I assume if user wanted to drop a cpu into a generic motherboard it wouldn’t have a tdp higher than 65w

fake and gay
bench it

>shilling your own scam this hard

Look it up, i havnt gotten it in the mail i just now bought it, if its not exactly what it says it is ebay will refund me.

Newegg has evga 1070 for AUD$470. Is that good value for aus? I haven’t seen a Ti much cheaper than aud $600

This is the system I build and been using for 10 months by now. is a small mini-itx system with a relative small foot print. (case: cooler master elite 130)
I am more than happy with my freesync 1080p monitor I use with it . I might want to try VR in a year or so(to expensive right now).
Over the course of this year any recommendations on what to upgrade in general?
Also did I shot myself in the foot by choosing a relative cheap 500w PSU?

Thanks

Attached: Capture.png (804x726, 54K)

I assumed otherwise.
I've seen a lot of guys here with 6 cores or higher in an A320 board.
I mean, that'll probably work, but why? they're barely even cheaper than passable B350/450s like the asrock pro 4

Your psu has shitty capacitors but you have like 250w headroom for a gpu

Lack of research is the number one cause for bad choices

It wasn't for me. Size of games, even though PC is essentially demat', tends to be scaled on BluRay disk size. So if you have a couple of AAA bloatwares, that's 2x65GB gone. Doesn't leave much margin for other software.

It's not bad, it's too expensive vs. the 2600.

Who knows what will happen in a year. Just sit on it and ask when you're actually ready to make changes.

Frens pls

Where's Navi?
You promised me Navi!!

right here

Attached: hey LISTEN.jpg (723x691, 39K)

Thanks for the ssd advice. Crucial Bx500 480gb is $95, ie not much more than the 250gb model I was looking at. Is that model okay?

Considering that SSD prices are going down, it's kinda expensive.

BX500 is dram-less, don't touch that with a 10-foot pole if installing an OS on it (which is most likely what you're using it for).
Get an MX500 instead.
250GB SSD is more than enough if you're installing games to HDD only.

If anyone promised you navi they were a liar.
I am really shocked they're releasing a 7nm GPU of any kind so early though.
The price makes sense though. Early silicon be spensive.

What is the best IPS monitor?

Attached: 1432724756686s.jpg (250x241, 7K)

Pcie 4 is not interesting for me as a gamer right?. Im asking because i would buy x470 + 2600 now and upgrade later to ryzen 3000

Not yet useful, but it's still a bonus.

Should I buy the Acer Predator XB271HU 27" WQHD IPS NVIDIA 2560X1440 (2K), 144 Hz G-Sync Black/Red Gaming Monitor?

I have a htpc i5-4670K with a HD 7950 should I upgrade my main build by swapping my 1080 for a RTX 2070 and giving the htpc the 1080. Worth it?

And you're why the chinese keep doing these fucking scams.

wait until the 15th, then see if the freesync version works with nvidia

What's the current word on SSD's? I've been running two basic 250 GB drives for the past few years, and I'm starting to max them out.

I'm thinking on a 500GB or 1TB Crucial MX500. Are there better options? Is something new coming down the pipeline that might change prices or improve performance?

What do most gamers do? Install games to HDD or SSD?

any red flags on this build? a friend is asking me what i think but i havent done this in quite a while
gaming experience is what he is after

Attached: Capture.jpg (1067x559, 97K)

Use SSD for games that have a ton of loading screens like Skyrim or games that constantly load textures and shit like GTA V and other open world games. If you notice textures popping in as you move around, SSD would help.

The slow RAM

Get a 1tb or 500gb crucial mx 500 or Samsung 860. They should be $80/$160. Just don't fall for the nvme meme and you're good.

If you're not poor, put all games/apps on ssd. There's a few exceptions with multi-player games where you have to wait for everyone else to load... But having a HDD in your rig just for that is kinda meh. Better to have HDDs somewhere on the network.

2080 worth it?

running i7-6700K currently have a 1080.

Change RAM to 2666Mhz CMK16GX4M2A2666C16W
Change HDD to 7200rpm please.
Opinion but RGB case is pretty gay.

Is this fucking real
'spiderman flagship psu' fucking lol

Attached: eljamon.jpg (480x360, 12K)

I really wish more designers would come out with tasteful RGB cases. Not these rainbow window floodlight monstrosities but just like strips of light around key areas or access panels for aesthetics.

thank you anons

>250€ for a new 580
I fucking hate jewrope.

you're gay, fun hating faggot
RGB is awesome. Not the full blown shit but in moderation

Cuck me again and again nvidia

Attached: chrome_Vy6616wlKq.png (852x664, 93K)

so is that a yes?

?

I'm wondering what to pick between the nuc8i5 and nuc8i3.
Is the i5 worth the 100 euro premium? (355 euros)

Its multi-core cinebench r15 score is about double that of the i3 at 779.

Fuck no that's not worth it. If you're gonna drop that cash either go for a 2080ti or wait for next gen. Unless you're loaded, just wait.

pcpartpicker.com/list/96zGMZ
Is this good for games? I have a 1080p/60hz monitor but plan on buying a 1440p/144hz monitor in a few months from now.

Attached: 1543610153578.gif (240x240, 1.63M)

If it were me, I'd probably lower the price somewhere and bump the GPU to a 2080, or even a 2080ti for that price.

I'd also add a second mechanical hard drive for pictures/movies whatever just so you have some additional storage space. They're cheap anyways.

reposting:

Ok, now with the big CES presentations behind us, can i finally pull the trigger on this build? de.pcpartpicker.com/list/HfQhLJ

Looking to get a 2070 TU106-400A-A1 model, haven't decided which one around 550EUR to get. Targeting bog standard 1080p for now, 1440p in a couple months or after we know more about the whole freesync thingy.

You shouldn't have even bothered waiting for CES if you already bought a CPU

>GPU to a 2080
From pic related is there any particular one I should buy, they all appear to have the same specs with the exception of boost clock being different, I don't plan on OCing. I was thinking of getting the Aorus one simply because it has the same name as the Gigabyte motherboard I want to get. The EVGA 2080s are €900+ so I'll skip that brand. I also have some old spare HDDs already to use as a D drive. Thanks.
