lol whats speccy

Attached: specs.png (1920x1080, 164K)

Nice.

I'm at 4.4ghz on my x5660, and about the same on the ram speed, just 24gb. Pushing further on the cpu it gets really hot, so I'm just leavig it at 4.4ghz, more than enough anyway.

I'm gonna try lowering the ram speed and tightening up the timings, and see if I can get over 3700mhz uncore stable. I'm not home until the end of the month tho.

What are you running your uncore at?

I think my i7 is set to 4.8 in bios any clue why running at like 4.5 gets 1596 in cinebench

cause its intel

well its intel

Get a job, NEET.

>Neet arguement
I am Finnish student in university.

If I needed moar cores I would just buy a threadripper. If I needed more GPU power, then sure, maybe then multiple GPUs is fine, but my point stands, speccy is shit.

Use AIDA64 instead, better than both.

Speccy? Why not.

I just name all my shit with whatever feels amusing at the time

>using SATA SSDs

Keep telling yourself that

>>using SATA SSDs
The smaller one is NVMe. Sure the RAID is SATA SSDs though.

Work Laptop, not bad for what it is.

That's not a ThinkPad user

I'll try, this is my laptop by the way.

shh, don't tell windows what's in those partitions.

(I haven't gotten the pen working correctly yet though)

funny how you don't see a linux superkey on thinkpads huh, fancy that

>tfw dead dimm slots and can't get triple channel
>tfw shit mobo won't let me overclock higher

fuck if I know, probs Intel, I have the auto volt set cause I'm lazy, I think its still like 18 degrees under TJ, if this 75$ board pops I'll live

sata SSDs (While inferior, and I wouldn't recommend anyone buy one now) work just fine, probably 10% difference in load times

rate me m8s

Wtf should I use. Speccy keeps giving me incorrect readings and HWMonitor is just a big ol information dumb
There's no AIDA64 free version so fuck that

your cpu temp is kinda high already, probably whouldn't get over 4ghz anyway.

Just pirate it you fucking retard

I don't want to wait a whole day just to shitpost my stats user
Give me a better alternative

It does heat my room after a while, pretty handy during these days, not so much for the remaining of the year.

user, you're on the tech board...

But fine, since I just updated mine.
pastebin.com/hrZqznff

I was encoding some stuff on handbrake when I took the screenshot. Max temp I get is 75, it would easily get to 4.5GHz if I had a good mobo.

sup

What volts or settings can I use to get my i9-9900k to 5.2ghz all cores all the time? Disregard cooling

Do I really need to plug in half an 8 pin connector?

Attached: C06724A6-A07F-4FD4-90C7-6666E9DBBE7E.jpg (1242x1243, 222K)

Also, that one is for the extreme version, this one is for the engineer version
pastebin.com/i3nmgQWb

so my bios, at startup, says my cpu (idling obviously) is at 25C
speccy says my cpu is at 92C
I just installed my new ryzen 5 2600 today and I remembered to put on thermal paste and the computer doesn't feel hot
what gives?

Modern PC gaming was the biggest meme I've felt.
There's nothing good to play!

Attached: 1547064939149.png (680x380, 33K)

8pin EPS can supply 200W easily if you don't have bargain bin PSU. They are most of the time plugged in parallel anyways so just 1 should be sufficient.

speccy cant read temps on ryzen or any other amd platform properly

Holy shit, it's still like that? That started back when AMD launched their APUs like in 2013 or something.

Yes. Speccy was giving me 139C for my newly built PC a few months ago when the BIOS was giving me a reading of 24C + HWMonitor reading 25C

If you get 75c on 3.8ghz, you won't go much over 4ghz fully stable. Water cooling is pretty much a must for those clocks.

Made it into an all in one pasta for AIDA64 if anyone wants it.

plz no bully

Pretty good for a thousand dollar pc

Attached: specs.png (653x468, 36K)

this cost you 1k?

Oh well, I guess not. This is probably the last upgrade this system will ever see anyway, and it'll run for a couple more years until I build a new one.

lol

Yeah, 3.8ghz isn't that bad anyway on 6 cores, and dual channel is only marginally worse than tripple for the most part.

I'll run my x5660, rampage 3 and gtx1060 6gb until I actually need something better or it dies.

Those fucking jews cut win7 support on the new rtx cards aswell, so unless amd actually manages to produce something other than poo, I'm stuck with the 1060. Or I could get a 1080ti down the line I guess.

Stop using Speccy, that program is dogshit.

Attached: jan 19.png (635x532, 29K)

>until I actually need something better or it dies
Me too mate. You should probably sell that 1060 and get a 1080ti. Much better upgrade than building a whole new system imo. Unless you have the money to spare of course

Finally a thread for the Sinclair spectrum.

Good boys.

Attached: 1528661660331.jpg (858x1200, 775K)

I'll se what amd has on the table when the time comes, or just buy a 1080ti used then.

For my 2560x1080 display, the 1060 does the job fairly well, usually get 80+ fps. I dont typically play the newest AAA games, so i'm not too worried about it.

I'm not going to windows 10. Ever. So a completely new system is out of the question, atleast until someone makes a good OS to actually upgrade to.

Attached: speccy.jpg (481x359, 24K)

360mm rad or better

what's up bois? What is everyone doing? I'm currently browsing Jow Forums of course. Watching cooking videos from Gordon Ramsey. About to play some subnautica on perma-death mode. Any of my Ryzen bros ITT hype for Ryzen 3xxx? I'm really hoping the rumor about an AM4 based 16c32t chip is true.

>I'm not going to windows 10. Ever.
That's what they all say. You'll switch soon.

Yall can suck me something fierce.

Corsair RGB PRO 64GB @ 3200 MHz and 8700K running strong @ 5.0GHz.

Speccy sucks, cant identify half my shit.... whatever.

>All that money spent
>Gets an old i7
>Gigashit motherboard
lol

Hello

Everyone has the same monitor I love it

It's a great monitor. I only paid $320 brand new.

>old i7

What? Its an 8700k, I bought it soon after they came out.

>Gigashit motherboard

You're 100% correct, there was a bug where the water cooler pump fan would not stay on PWM and unless you did a full shutdown it would run that fan @ 100%. So if you restarted the computer, welcome to blowdryer hell.

I lived with this shite for a solid year until a BIOS update that came out fixed it. There was no acknowledgement of the bug in the BIOS notes.

I HATE NIGGABYTE.

Damn right, its a solid fucking unit.

What the fuck? 144Hz?

You dont deserve that monitor.

165Hz OC or NOTHING.

Damn. I wonder how many pc's got fried.

I don't know what's up with Giga and their shitty PWM, my 990FX board that I love so much will barely spin the CPU fan at a slow ass speed and overheat the processor if I wake it up from sleep, so I never use that function.

Sell some RAM for a new GPU

I'll wait for Navi.

Eh, its not too hard to get DDR3 cheap.

One guy at work was handing out 4GB DIMMs like candy.

I sent two of them to my poor Mexican friend and now hes rocking 16GB.

Attached: Untitled.jpg (3837x2160, 2.46M)

>64gb RAM
lmao what a monumental waste of money.

This, may as well go HEDT at that point.

I understand your position. Unfortunately even game developers will stop supporting Windows 7 and 8 at some point and it'll be impractical to keep this hobby, unless, as you said, you don't play new games. If you eventually change your mind, install Windows 10 LTSC. It's an enterprise version, without bloat, no forced updates or adware and spyware. It's as close to a Windows 7 type experience as it'll get from nu-Windows.

What tower and PSU is needed for that build?

Daily reminder Speccy has always had issues with correctly reporting temps.
>House Fire Inside (tm)
Well I guess there is that too.

2010 called and they want their hardware back.

>45nm xeon quad core
That's shit's like 2007 hardware.

This must be the first time I see an actual Ryzen build with somewhat decent memory speed and timings on here

Attached: 1547078895488.jpg (420x420, 50K)

Memory speeds really don't matter much

Where have you been living? They do hugely for Ryzen. The difference between 2400 and 3600 is like 30% in raw performance.

Attached: ryzen2-mem-w3-2.png (830x541, 12K)

Why'd they change both timing and frequency? Now we don't know what helped the most.

That's to show that speed alone is not important, that lower speed with better timings can be more beneficial than just higher speed with loose timings alone.
Google it, Ryzen and memory speed is well known and benchmarked to death.

Yea my 980Ti can't give me sustained 120FPS let alone 165HZ. Figured why bother enabling the monitor's OC mode.
